Baked mac and cheese

Upon arriving, I wasn't quite sure how it would go since the staff that greeted us seemed a bit rude. Perhaps they were just tired and it did seem like they were very busy that day. However, once one of the staff took us to our seat, they were nice and it was niceness all around from there. We loved the thoughtful note that congratulated us on our first year anniversary. We appreciated the kindness from our servers who would check in on us and also let us choose our knives. That was something new and fun. The waiters were well informed of the dishes and drinks. Overall, the quality of the food was good! The decor and ambiance was well thought out too and this is a great place to celebrate an event or go on date night.

i was a bit skeptical reading the menu. tomatoes and peppers in the macaroni?! but it was all good. from service to food. our server was attentive and laughed with us . we were celebrating my brother's birthday with an intimate family dinner. there were many different steaks and family style apps on the table: we stayed a bit and tried a couple desserts too. they gave a birthday dessert as well. i genuinely enjoyed my meal and time there we parked in the general garage that was about ~3 min walk away. if you can find parking on the street that's an option depending on time/day

My coworkers and I went to Anthony's Chophouse for a corporate dinner expecting polite small talk and predictable bites and instead got a surprisingly sharp performance with just one awkward seating plot twist. They booked the entire top floor for our group of 30, which sounds luxe... until three of us got exiled to what we joked as "the kiddy table". Nothing says "team unity" like banquet-style seating for most of us and a side quest for the chosen few when there was clearly room to extend the table, so the choice felt less "design" and more "but, why though?" Luckily, the food excellent. Family-style apps kept things social, and the broiled goat cheese disappeared faster than corporate budgets in Q4. The caramelized brussels sprouts with feta and pears(?) was absolutely sproutstanding and worth fighting your VP over. My salmon was cooked like it had something to prove: crisp on the outside, buttery within. The mac and cheese sauce ith what tasted like sharp, aged cheddar was doing the lord's work. The mashed potatoes was aggressively average, like a meeting that could've been an email. Eh. The bourbon bread pudding was sticky, rich, and just boozy enough to make you forgive the seating chart Service-wise, they ran a tight ship. *Chef's kiss* A small army of food expeditors kept plates landing with precision and no awkward pauses or hangry-induced hostility. Timing was flawless and the polished atmosphere, confident execution, and a few standout dishes was enough to forgive the seating chart.

Our waiter Oloft was FANTASTIC! Loved the smoked old fashion. Very smooth!

We love to try new places & tonight was a FANTASTIC MEAL! We were celebrating a birthday. Wonderful parking in crazy tight Carmel, IN. The atmosphere rich, but not intimidating. The seating tables are nicely spaced out. Not over crowded. Our server Oloft ( forgot how to spell his name ) was SPECTACULAR! The menu is very well laid out and the portions are not disappointing! The staff is very friendly and quick to serve & pre bus the table. Our drinks were delicious AND the dessert drinks you have to try! ALL, the food was fresh and just simply delicious. We will visit here again and not just for special occasions! Thank you for a memorable dining experience! Definitely better than Prime 47, better than H! We still love Nylas in Westfield and the Salt in Carmel. Parking was definitely better at Anthony's! See you again soon!

Came to Anthony's for a work team dinner & had an amazing time. We had a drink at the bar while we waited and this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly large! Our waiter, Olaf, started out night out with a bang... He made us feel special, by actually taking time to know what company we were from, what we did & other details which safe to say we'd never seen before! We essentially ordered everything there is to order and there is no bad choice on this menu at all! The appetizers like the bacon and lobster bisque I could eat every day for the rest of my life... SO GOOD! I went with the $79 Wagyu fillet and decided to add the crab oscar on it (because I wasn't paying for it of course)... and it was one of, if not the best steak of my life. The dessert may have been the "worst" thing about the meal, which is saying a lot because it was still good! Even though I'm not a huge cranberry fan, that cheesecake was very good! My coworkers got the choco tacos (childhood throwback), they mentioned they're very peanut buttery, but if that's your vibe then you'll love it! The liquid dessert I had "better than therapy", I personally wasn't a fan of. However it if you like a strong chocolate liquor, you'll enjoy this. Overall great night at an amazing restaurant. One of the best in the Greater Indianapolis area for sure.

Came to Anthony's for Valentine's dinner. Wow was it lovely! The service was excellent (Audrey gave us so many great suggestions and was attentive and patient). We had the Ravioli and added scallops (again, great tip from Audrey!) and the ribeye. Scrumptious! The chop salad was crisp and savory and by far the best one I have ever had! We got the bacon appetizer and it had a nice sweet heat- I would get that again and will be thinking about for DAYS. Everything was served with generous portions. Definitely felt like a special occasion. Oh and the whipped Yukons- crisp on the top, silky under. So darn yummy!!

Disappointed that my $71 steak was overcooked. The lobster macaroni was pretty good and the dessert was great. The service was pretty good and I may go back on a special occasion.

First time here, we really enjoyed it. We didn't have a reservation, but grabbed two seats at the bar. The two story windows allow a lot of light in, therefore it's bright inside. The bartender was super nice and helpful. We started with two well balanced cocktails. The truffle arancini were perfectly crisp and delicious. After some hemming and hawing, I went with the Spinalis steak, which was an awesome juice. Super great cut and perfectly cooked. My g/f got the sea scallops, which she also loved. I didn't prefer the carrot puree, but it didn't take away from the meal. All in all we have lovely experience and will be back!

TL; DR: Anthony's has easily become my #1 steakhouse experience in the city. There's no question that the service and cuisine is worth the splurge. It's been a long time since a night out has captivated me as much as my visit to Anthony's! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant until the moment we left, we had an amazing experience. I am always leery of going out on Valentine's Day, because the service at places are usually not as great. This was not the case. First of all, I made a reservation several months in advance. I didn't want to chance not being able to come here. When I arrived, I was greeted by the hostesses who were very professional young ladies. They quickly checked me in and asked to check my coat. I sat in the beautiful lobby while waiting for my husband and the hostesses gave me the option to be seated or to wait. I chose to wait, and when we arrived, we were seated near the kitchen where you can see the kitchen staff preparing dishes. Normally I abhor this area but here was awesome because there was no distraction at all. The kitchen is beautifully designed. Our server, Olaf, was delightful. He started us with a suggestion of a flavorful red wine (Faust) which I enjoyed. If you decide to go with a red, I was suggest considering to go for a bottle of this instead of just a glass. While reviewing the menu, Olaf brought us a dish of warm garlic butter bread with garlic butter spread. Excellent. The steaks here are a very healthy size. I knew that I couldn't eat one alone, so opted to go for an appetizer of crab cakes for my main course. My husband made a decision between the strip, spinalis (which is a special cut of ribeye), or the flight to share with me. We decided on the flight and it was a wonderful decision. 3 different 4 oz cuts which were cooked to perfection - melt in your mouth! I was in awe of how delicious this steak was. We had a prime cut, grass fed, and wagyu. If you've never tried wagyu, you won't be disappointed. I can still taste it! My crab cakes were a great addition to the meal, as they served two of them with a delicious aioli. It was enough for me to share with my husband as well. Highly recommend. For our sides, I had heard good things about the baked Mac and I wasn't disappointed. We also had the broccolini which was flavorful and complimented the meal. Remember that they are family style portions. I went so far as to order dessert. I never do that! Reviews didn't steer me wrong with the bourbon butter cake. Do yourself a favor and look for it. Worth every bite. Shout out to the waitstaff. We were never left with an empty glass of water or dirty dishes hanging around. There are several young men and women who work here, and they are just top notch. I love a professional team of folks no matter where I am. Not to mention, the conversation with Olaf the entire night was great. He was funny and charming and easy to talk to. So listen - I'm already planning my return. Not to mention they have a rewards program where you can earn a hefty $100 coupon after spending $1000. That's amazing considering how pricy things here are (not complaining, the splurge is WORTH IT)! Plan a night out and stop in. You won't regret it.

Charlie Pounder Appetizer

We made a dinner reservation for an early Christmas date night at Anthony's, and it was our first visit there. We enjoyed the upscale ambiance, the location of our table with a great view to the holiday decorated trees outside, and the stellar & friendly service by Olaf and crew. We always over order so that we have leftovers to enjoy at home. Having said that, we ordered the following: Charlie's Pounder Appetizer Octopus Salad Lobster Bisque Swordfish Wagyu Filet & Lobster Tail Baked Creamy Mac & Cheese Roasted Brussels Raspberry Indulgence Dessert (to go) I truly enjoyed the lobster bisque and octopus salad. I'm not normally a meatball appetizer person, but the Charlie Pounder was very tasty and plentiful for sharing. My husband's wagyu filet was amazing, as was the lobster ($148 for both), but I didn't love the swordfish entrée. The menu description for the swordfish states, "14 oz Bone - In, Crab Meat, Savory-Butter Sauce." I took that to mean there would be luscious lump crab meat atop the fish which would lay atop the savory-butter sauce on the plate; instead, it was a thick, creamy crab and butter-type mixture that I did not enjoy. The fish itself was nice, though. I should've asked for clarification before ordering it, so that's on me, but I'll certainly do that going forward! The Brussels had a great flavor profile, but they were a bit mushy for our liking. The baked mac & cheese was decadent (and with a kick!) and we would order it again. I enjoyed two cocktails: Pound Town and Rosemary's Baby. I would definitely recommend the Rosemary's Baby cocktail. Oh, and perhaps random, but I really appreciated: 1) having my water topped off several times [without asking] as well as 2) Olaf keeping our white tablecloth clean by way of a crumb sweeper. We noticed several bar tables around the perimeter of the bar area and have decided we'll opt for dining there next time as a more casual experience with drinks and appetizers.

I personally prefer the "patio" seating, which is covered/shaded, but it's so pretty when they pull the drapes up and you can look outside. This was our first time at 1933 Lounge. We are snobs when it comes to steaks and the way they are cooked. However, we were blown away at how good our steaks were. Each bite was perfectly seasoned, tender, and just melts in your mouth! I believe we ordered the USDA Prime Strip Steak and the Bone-in Dry Aged Ribeye with the Bearnaise sauce, but I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the steaks on their menu when it's cooked with such precision. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about all items on the menu. Per his recommendation, we ordered the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail with their spicy, signature cocktail sauce and the Crème Corn Brulee. For starters, the Crème Corn Brulee was unlike anything we've ever tried. The crunchy, caramelized top coat and sweetness of the corn went so well with our savory steaks. It's an absolute MUST-TRY!!! But back to the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail. WHY would you not warn people that the spicy signature sauce consists of freshly grated horseradish? We took the biggest freaking bite of the shrimp with a heaping amount of sauce and just about died. I didn't know what to do with myself in that moment. My eyes were watering and my nasal passages felt like they were burning off. The saltine crackers definitely helped, but I was questioning every life decision in that moment. If you are a first-timer, PLEASE order the sauce on the side. DON'T BE LIKE ME AND GO IN BLINDLY FOR A LARGE BITE! There should be a warning label on the menu lol. It took me a few minutes to recover. Lastly, the lobster bisque was divine. Espresso martini was 10/10. I think we will be back in the future, but next time we will skip on the St. Elmo Shrimp cocktail.

I fully accept that this is a safe space for bourbon people and whiskey people. (I know: Bourbon is a type of whiskey! Just go with me here.) They have a literal wall of bourbon at The Broken Barrel. Pro tip: Look at the menu and see what they offer, but then walk up to the bar and look at the wall of whiskey and bourbon, and see what they have available that day. What they have available and what's on the menu can vary. You might see some goodies on the wall that aren't listed on the menu. If I'm not drinking wine, then I'm drinking gin. Luckily for me, there was a gin drink on the menu, so I got that: The New Gatsby, which is Hendrick's gin, St. Germain, cherry and lime, served in a tall glass with lots of ice. It was refreshing, but I kind of wish it had more gin in it! It was very sweet and light, and the perfect beverage for someone who likes light, sweet drinks. A dirty martini was also ordered, which is vodka, olive juice and bleu-cheese-stuffed olives. They make a dang good dirty martini here! It's like drinking a salty salad in a glass, if you're into that sort of thing. The Broken Barrel is a dark, cozy space, and a good place to get a drink. Keep in mind that it's 21+, so adults only! I got the Crack Dip, and some boneless wings with the dry goat rub (was recommended). The crack dip came with chicharrones, which was interesting. It tasted...fine. Just kinda bland with not much going for so it, other than being cream cheesey. Unfortunately the chicharrones did not really add much to the experience. My boneless wings were also the same... Fine. Kinda bland. The dry rub doesn't actually stick to the breading, so it was just plain chunks of breaded chicken tenders with a little pile of seasoning sitting in the bottom of the basket. My friends food however, was actually pretty tasty! The bone-in wings with chili garlic honey sauce were zesty and juicy. Two others ordered burgers, which were decently sized and were rated as delicious. Another friend got the thai chicken lettuce wraps, which the sauces were very tasty with. Especially since we had a long drawn out conversation about her inability to change the alcohol type in one of our drinks because it's premixed, you'd think she would remember. Sadly, no. We should have left then but were there for a watch party. So we ended up reordering and paying again for the missing drink. We moved to a different area of the bar and still experienced subpar service. Nearly every staff member in this place had the look on their faces like everyone was an inconvenience to them. Not one smile. Very limited interaction. And overall, extremely poor customer service. I would not recommend! Cherry on top: when you pay, they have the unmitigated gall to have the tip increments go from 22-30%. Not a one person who "served" us worked to deserve a tip of that magnitude. And I'm saying this as a very generous tipper! Never again....which I'm sure they don't mind since it's clear they don't care.

Went tonight after a production at the Booth Tarkington and was really looking forward to relaxing…read morewith an apertif in a cozy setting. We went for a 3:00 show on a Sunday such that by the time we got out, it was 6:00-still early. It was in the 30's outside and already dark (thanks DLS time). Yet as we reached the top of the stairs to the lobby I was immediately disappointed that there was no fire lit in the fireplace. There were only three parties in the place. One was around the corner in the adjoining sitting area and may or may not have been drinking. There were two couples at the bar, where we considered also sitting. But the only empty spot for two had two dirty drink glasses from a previous patron still sitting. So we opted for the leather couch and chair in the main area just across from the bar. And that's where we waited, and waited, for almost 30 minutes, before giving up on getting served (or acknowledged). There was only one bartender, so we were fine with going up to order but communication would have been helpful. We stood at the bar while she chatted with the two couples, who'd all been served. We couldn't really figure out what she was doing as she seemed busy-ish yet wasn't serving, or clearing, or washing, and we were chatting between ourselves and didn't really give it much thought. Then she said she was out of something and was leaving the bar to go fetch it. We asked her to let us know when she was ready to serve us, and we took our seats to resume our conversation. The bartender returned after a while, and she served one of the original couples ... for another 10 minutes at least. Again we were talking so, while an irritation, it was in the background. About 50 minutes into our visit, she came over and took our drink order. This was my third or fourth visit, and I'd ordered my drink, an old fashioned, before and knew what to expect: bourbon of choice, Luxardo cherry, and a dehydrated orange slice. Ten minutes later we got our drinks. Now mind you, my friend ordered a glass of wine. Nothing time consuming about that. She noted that her pour was smaller than the other times she'd been there. Mine came with the whisky cube already on its way to melted, a broken (a.k.a. piece of) cherry and a twist. What? Where's my glorious little crunchy orange wheel of goodness? I had spied them on the bar earlier. No soup for me! Also, and I can't be sure 100% sure of this, but I tasted neither bitters nor syrup. Was this really just a bourbon rocks? It took a minute but we realized this gal cannot tend and talk at the same time. My friend commented that she had no idea what will happen when the place gets busy, as it has been every other time I've been there. We left after 8:00, after one drink, and for me, $21 lighter. Yeah, it's pricey. And the Carmichael crowd is a discriminating one. So we expected better. Much, much better.
