Beach Café was one of my favorite restaurants in Edmonds ever since it opened. While the food has slipped a bit in recent years, we still continued to give Beach Café our business. After this latest experience, however, our patronage has sadly come to an end. As a note, I did try to resolve this issue privately by sending an email to the address on the Anthony's website, feedback@anthonys.com, on 12/22. I have received no response. I also sent them a message via FB, and again, no response. Here is the comedy of errors that occurred on 12/22: 1. I called in a to-go order of 2 bowls of chowder and an entrée of rockfish tacos around 3PM. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the female employee helping me noticed they'd put 2 cups instead of 2 bowls of chowder in my to-go bag. She went to the kitchen and quickly remedied this error. 2. Upon arriving home, I saw that they gave me chicken tacos instead of rockfish tacos (and yes, it said rockfish tacos on my receipt). Although annoyed and disappointed, I decided to eat the chicken tacos instead of driving all the way back to the restaurant to get my correct order. 3. Halfway through the first chicken taco, I noticed that the chicken is literally RAW in the center. As in, pink, fleshy raw chicken. So not only did Beach Café give me to wrong order, but they compounded the error by serving me RAW chicken! Disgusting and unacceptable. The health department should be notified. 4. As previously stated, I emailed them 5 days ago requesting a full refund and have not received a response. Also, the restaurant was practically empty when I picked up my order. I saw 2 tables with customers. So it's not like the kitchen was slammed with orders and got both my items wrong and undercooked my chicken due to a full restaurant. It's sad that what was once a great place to eat has slipped so drastically in food, quality and service over the years. I've been coming here for over 25 years and always had a great experience until recently. My go-to order has been the fish tacos, and they were consistently good for decades. I recently went back and ordered what I thought would be the same great fish tacos, but now it is a "fish taco" (singular). Despite being half the size of what it used to be (previously this dish came with two good-sized tacos), it is now $25... for one taco. The taco also barely had any fish in it. At best, there was a 2 oz. piece, about the size of two fingers. It is entirely misleading to have something this small on the entree menu. I was expecting dinner, instead I got a small appetizer. If my recent experience was my only experience I would be giving one star, but they get three stars because of all my great experiences over the years. read more

You can't beat the view and location here. The staff was welcoming, just extremely busy as expected on a Saturday afternoon. Food was exceptional. I'm not going to lie, the views are gorgeous. That's really what you're paying for here. The food and service were lacking for what I've come to know as Anthony's. Pretty but lacking. Coleslaw had a mayonnaise dressing but it was lacking a normal coleslaw pipe flavoring to any degree. Calamari was tender but it also lacked flavor. Grilled cheese sandwich with the tomato basil soup for not only beautiful but delicious. read more

Cute place, bright and fun. Great location at the Edmonds marina. Nothing on the menu is over $18, unlike the traditional Anthony's where prices can get ridiculous. Great service, my grandparents love this place, they always special order everything and the wait and kitchen staff are always accommodating. I had the seafood macaroni and cheese and shared the seafood chop chop with a friend. Both meals were delicious! Good view, good food, good service! read more

The in-laws wanted to take us out to Anthony's for lunch but we discovered they are open for dinner only so we were delighted to discover the Beach Cafe right next door was open. None of us had any idea this place existed and thought we'd check it out. After being hit by the 1983 decor straight out of a Miami Vice episode with the super cheesy, washed out jungle shirts the staff wear to the matching tablecloths - yes, the shirts match the tablecloths (my husband told me Gordon Ramsey would pitch a fit over that), we were greeted after a minute by a waitress and seated quickly. I didn't try the free garlic bread but the rest of the group liked it. Everyone enjoyed their entrees but no one said it was great. Two of us got the fisherman's platter which was a fried food feast of small rings of calamari, two shrimp, one strip of cod and one strip of salmon - except mine didn't come with salmon at all. The fish was fresh and the breading was a good portion and not overdone. Someone got the grilled cheese and tomato sandwich with a cup of tomato basil soup that was advertised as fire roasted, but he didn't detect any spice or anything in that regard. It came with a squirt of sour cream on top. The last person ordered salmon which came with a side of chopped red potatoes. He said it was really good but he's had better. Two folks got a cup of clam chowder and said it was good. They also got burnt cream for dessert and no comments were made about it but they slurped up every drop of it. Our waitress checked on us and kept the drinks flowing. She wasn't welcoming or inviting but not off putting either. It was clear she was there to do the basics of her job, no more, no less. We saw a yacht come in and park right next to the restaurant. The marina is next door and the water is right outside the property. This is a lovely place to go because of the outside view. Guest moorage is available while visiting Beach Cafe, too. They have outdoors seating in the warmer months. There's a separate bar area and it looks inviting. You can see the kitchen when you walk in and from some parts of the dining room. The parking lot is small and I've seen it be crammed in the evenings. We decided to stop in Edmonds before heading to SeaTac for a flight out. Wanted a quick bite and stopped at Anthony's. Even being Father's Day we were able to get a great table right away. Our server Claire was so polite, so attentive....I wish servers everywhere were like her! We ordered the island Poke bowl to share along with a small Caesar salad. Poke bowl was amazing. Ahi was fresh and delicious, pineapple chutney, seaweed salad and everything else was so flavorful and yummy. The salad had homemade Caesar dressing which I absolutely love. Food looked good tasted alright. The fish and chips is suppose to be a staple here but was extremely thin and small amount of fish for $17. Also, The French fries were cold.. eaxh plate might be worth around $8-12 but you'll be paying $16-25. The server was nice but the service was slow. Additionally, the food took an hour to get to our table and it wasn't very busy. The gluten free option was to literally remove the bread. No replacement or alternative, just removed the bread.. This was a pretty disappointing visit for me. My wife and I went on a Friday night to enjoy some sun and thought this would be a good choice. Here is a summary: -View is pretty; right on the pier so you can see the water/boats. The one thing bad about the view is that there is a little kids playground RIGHT next to the outdoor eating area. Twice we had kids just running around with sand in their hands in the restaurant area. It's fine if you're a bit away but not when you're so close. -Service is pretty good. Our waitress was friendly and fast. We didn't have to wait at all for our refills/food. She was also serving the table next to me and a lady next to me ordered a meal and "didn't realize it has mussels.". She looked as if the waitress made a mistake (hate people like that) so the waitress brought the menu and showed her the order.....and yes....it had mussels. Totally the lady's fault but they still took the dish back and cooked a new one. -Now on to the disappointing part, the meal. My wife got the Hawaiian Cobb and I got the Kalbi Chicken Bowl. The Cobb was great. Generous portion on a big plate. The Kalbi bowl isn't really Kalbi sauce (for those who know true Kalbi sauce) but it was delicious other than the fact that my chicken was raw!! First price was good but when I grabbed the second one and took a bite, it was way too chewy. The comped us the meal and gave us free dessert. Regardless, raw chicken is not good. I will try to come back here again, as I'm sure they don't do this very often, but I can't help give 2-stars when my meal was prepared like that. read more

Very similar to Fish market in Bay area, same price for fish dishes, ~30.00/dinner plate. They complement their seafood with locally source fresh vegetables which was asparagus and string beans. Salmon w/steamed string beans. $34.00, wine, misc appetizers, was there for 4h talking and watching sunset. Can't do that in most restaurants. $150/2. Destination restaurant. Busy during peak weekend hours when the weather is good, 1.5h wait on Sun. Outdoor seating. Great view of the sunset. Gets cold when sun goes down, they provide blankets! Rhubarb slump, sour, sweet, crunchy, and creamy and cold contrasts from the ice cream. Good idea to steal to make at home. They bake each portion individually vs. baking an entire pie and slicing it and serving it. This makes each individual serving much hotter and enhances the texture contrasts between the ice cream and the slump/pie. Good idea. Probably a standard restaurant trick. read more

Ate lunch there today. They open at 1130 and there was a short lineup...nice to see. The location is great...right by the water. Lots of parking at that time. I ordered the Blackened rockfish tacos. Came with chips and salsa. You get two tacos decent in size. My gripe...the pineapple mango salsa overwhelmed any taste of fish. The fish portion is small and I did not taste any blackened flavor. Would not order them again. And just FYI for those noise sensitive folks...it gets loud as the place fills up. Our server was spot on. read more

This is a great restaurant with patio for those who are close to Edmonds, want to enjoy the sunny summer with friends and those that have kids. Nice staff, good food, good live music, pleasant location by the water. I had a great time with my friends there. We went to Anthony's Beach Cafe yesterday, on Sunday at about 1:00 with a couple from Calif. We raved about the place as we've gone there many times as locals. It was crowded but we noticed many empty tables. They said it would take a hour to an hour and 45 min. to be seated. She took my cell #. I checked backed twice to see how it was going. I asked about all the empty tables and she said " they had to give their servers a break." Not sure what that meant as isn't the idea to fill empty tables so the servers can earn tips? We sat near the desk so they wouldn't forget about us. Many people walked up but after hearing it would take 45-an hour to be seated, they left. They lost a lot of business by "giving their servers a break". After over an hour, I went up to the desk and the hostess said she had already texted me! I expected a call, rather than a text. We were quickly seated and eventually had a nice lunch. The server was great. A family next to us was complaining about the service. My only complaint was that they need to hire more servers or their business will suffer. The hostesses should tell people they will text, rather than call. read more

Go ahead and come by for the sunset menu - a 4 course meal for $22. With a large group, it's hard to adequately judge some of their dishes, but here's what I got: Wild Salmon Croccantini - 5/5. Absolutely delightful! Crunchy, buttery cracker topped with a dollop of mashed potatoes and a slice of salmon. New England Clam Chowder - 2/5. Creamy cup of chowder, but a bit lacking in clam flavor. May have just gotten a bad batch. I would come by to try this again. Duet Salmon & Shrimp - 2/5. Decent portion of salmon, covered with baby shrimps and served aside a pilaf (with dried fruits). The pilaf didn't match my tastes since I don't like sweet and savory mixed. However, the salmon was on the dry side. I will overlook this since I came with a large party and I think they worked hard to bring out all the food together. Burnt Cream (Creme Brulee) - 5/5. One of the best I've had! Chilled to the core, flavorful and creamy with a great burnt/caramelized top. Absolutely would order this again! read more

I came here on a Friday afternoon for a lunch date with my mom. We got the lunch combo chicken taco & clam chowder and the cod burger. The taco & chowder was super delicious, but the cod burger was only alright. The service that afternoon was lacking at my table. The server did not check up on us to refill our water even though I saw her and other servers walk around everyone else's tables to fill up. I felt our table was being ignored, so I got up and helped myself to the water pitcher where the server keeps them. I think a manager or supervisor noticed because it was only then I got an apology about that. The kind manager/supervisor then helped us with our bill and moments later our actual assigned server came by the table (finally) and said she'll give us the bill, I informed her someone already got us checked out. After my daughters dance recital on Fathers Day we ended up down here for dinner. I called to check on the wait time and was told 30 min for both inside and out (we didn't care either way). I dropped my husband at the front door to go get on the list and after we parked we found they'd seated him immediately. So I guess they're not very good at estimating wait times, just FYI. We weren't looking for fancy food, just something the whole family could enjoy, and found that at Anthony's Beach cafe. The bread they start you with is super buttery and a little addictive. Between the 4 of us we enjoyed burgers, a fish burger and an order of fish and chips. Everything was tasty. read more

You really can't beat the downtown Edmonds waterfront on a hot, summers day in Seattle. We arrived just before they opened and got in line with the rest of the hungry locals. We were sat outside in 5 minutes and our serve was young but helpful and very attentive. We ordered the clam chowder and fish tacos. Thought it was a bit strange that our meals were served with chips and salsa but it was enjoyable none the less. The ciabatta bread with butter, oil and herbs they serve as you sit down was really, really too good. I had to push that away and fast! Really can't go wrong with this place. read more

Really sub-par experience here. Started out well-- we were seated quickly at a window seat with a nice view, and the hostess was smiley. Unfortunately, we were seated at our wobbly table for 10 to 15 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged us and brought water. The food was similarly slow to arrive. My salmon was over cooked, over buttered, and over salted, and served with reheated roasted potatoes that were greasy and salty. The incredibly dry salmon was kind of surprising for a restaurant known for its seafood. The prices were also quite high: $28 for a not-good-at-all lunch salmon entrée at a beach-vibe casual restaurant, $6 for a lemonade. And, of course, when the check came the tip options were 18, 20, or 25%. Kind of a bummer overall. We used to come here for the all you can eat fish and chips on Mondays. But they've increased the price from 13.99 to 18.99 per person. That makes it less feasible because it's not the value it once was. Food-wise the fish is nicely breaded but a little browner than you're probably used to but the flavor isn't burned or anything like that. Cole slaw and fries accompany your fish like you'd expect and you can let your server know ahead of time to get you another round before you finish. Everyone here is really nice and the service pretty good. It's a great location next to the water and with their own little rectangle or sand/beach for kids to play. Whatever you decide to order.. make sure you try the breadsticks and feel free to load up on them. They're simply amazing. Fluffy and dense and packed with refreshing herbs. We might not come back for all you can eat but will definitely return for some other seafood items on the menu. read more

Wow. The 1st almost 80 degree weekend in the area. We took a ride, stopped in about 3 PM. I realize with social distancing restaurants are still struggling. This should mean that they are trying to accommodate customers with decent service. We checked with the hostess to get a table. She said it would be an hour and a half which could be understandable. However she did not greet us, smile or make eye contact. She could be having a bad day. We left our cell number and she said she would text us when it was our time to be seated. It is now 6:30 PM and she STILL HAS NOT TEXTED US! RESTAURANTS ARE STILL STRUGGLING. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY SOMEWHERE THAT GIVES A DARN! We live in Edmonds and have been going there since they opened. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Growing up in Edmonds this was my favorite place to go with my family. Stopped here today and was not disappointed. Karli was our waitress and she gave me some wonderful Gluten free options, and also helped me pick a nice and buttery glass of Chardonnay. The establishment was clean and the staff was very friendly. Been here several times, nice casual restaurant that has a great view of the water. Service is pretty good on the right day. The sand play area is great in summer for kids. However, my last few times here have not been great. The last time, we waited for a half hour for a table on a weeknight when half the tables were empty. We were told we would be seated in 10-15 minutes but ended up walking out after 30 minutes of waiting. Not sure if it was an off day or what, but since I was bringing an out of town guest that evening it was a bad first impression. We ended up driving to Scott's in Shoreline and though their place was nearly full, they sat us in 5 minutes. read more

Sad, underwhelming, & basic. For the price $16 I didn't have the highest expectations , however I expect a cod burger that's at least a larger piece of fish than you would get from Jack in the Box. Nope, this was the smallest cod filet I've ever seen, even in an order of fish & chips. And I would rather have had the Jack in the Box sandwich compared to what was served. Staff was attentive, but I don't see how that meal made it past quality control. In past years they've been much better. By far the worst restaurant experience I've had in years. I'll never be visiting an Anthony's again. First off, we were attempting to visit Anthony's, the classy seafood place, with a view. However, apparently there are two restaurants named Anthony's in the same building without signs clearly identifying which is which.What the hell? Someone else was leading our party and we ended up here. That was confusing but not what my review is based on. This is more of a fish and chips joint, which would have been fine if they had done that well. Menu was similar to other fish and chips places, but nearly double the price. First we were given garlic bread which was cold, oily, and soggy. Gross. I ordered fish tacos with chips and salsa. Pretty hard to mess up chips from a bag, right? Guess not, mine were soggy with oil. They came with about 1 tablespoon of salsa. The fish tacos actually looked pretty good and were wrapped in cute paper. However, the paper apparently wasn't made for food purposes as it stuck to the tortilla and ripped to tiny pieces. The fish itself was small, but fine. Others at my table had similarly disappointing food. The fries appear to have been sitting out for a long while before serving. Pieces of fish were tiny. Our waiter was polite so I guess that counts for something? read more

If I had the option of giving a 0 star, I would. Restaurant displayed racial preference for other parties during seating. We were third in line (party size of 5) after the restaurant opened for lunch at 11:30, with larger parties behind us. However, after telling us they were setting up the table, conversation between the receptionist and one of the table cleaners occurred and they spent the next 10 minutes randomly cleaning chairs at other tables while the entire restaurant was empty. Meanwhile, other (white) parties of size 6 and 8 were quickly seated and even accommodated with children seats which presumably would take more work. Thus, for racial discrimination, I would recommend never coming to this restaurant again. read more

Anthony's has an upstairs (fancy) and downstairs café (kid-friendly). Both are excellent. Service is great in both. My in-laws love going to the café every time they are in town, and my husband and I just had or first night out together at the upstairs restaurant. Service was impeccable, as was the food. We ordered the Steak Oscar, and when it arrived, we both kind of chuckled at how small the steak was, but it was perfectly portioned (with crab on top). If you are looking fora kid-friendly dining option, downstairs is perfect with bread baskets, and kids menus. Reservations are probably advised on weekends, especially if you want a view. read more

Twenty years of visits logged, the Beach Café is always welcoming and always good. Classic, casual Northwest waterfront spot with fish house standards and other goodies. Extra credit for carrying the Impossible Burger as an option for the Beach Burger. I do miss the Chocolate Celebration Cake, but a seasonal cocktail or glass of wine from the small-but-solid list is a good consolation. Great for warm day outdoor dining and for looking at moored boats decked out with lights during the holidays. read more

A relaxed, beachy atmosphere right on the pier and with amazing views of the water and docks. The food is great, mostly seafood but with a non-pretentious feel, unlike a lot of seafood restaurants, and the waitstaff are always friendly. Fabulous fresh baskets of warm herbed bread are served to start with! So yummy - and they refill!! For the summer or warmer months they have a gorgeous patio seating area, with tons of baskets of beautiful flowers to accompany the gorgeous views. Also, for those with kids - this place is great!! They have a sandbox for them to play in right outside on the back patio - where you can keep an eye out from your table quite easily. Had my dads birthday lunch here today and was very disappointed. The service was good not great. We ordered the bbq prawns appetizer and there were only no joke but 4 small prawns and loaded with cold hard potato drenched in oil. The fish dishes we got were prepared well but again the potato was cold and hard and drenched in the oil and the corn was cold as well. Another thing I find confusing is the Anthony's upstairs and by Alderwood mall doesn't charge for soda water but here they do. I just thought it would be consistent with all the Anthony's. read more
