This review is about two locations in same franchise. A friend of mine and I went to Anthony's Beach Café. We called in to make a reservation, but we were told that they do not make reservations. So we got there, and the people before us were asked if they had a reservation and they said yes. We eventually got seated and the server was a little abrupt initially. I again let it go. My friend order something with soup. His soup arrived, but I had to watch him eat it because I didn't receive anything. So he was rushing so that I don't wait any longer. Neither he got to enjoy his soup nor I had anything to eat. I was awkward. I wanted to order the all you can eat fish and chips, but got non-all you can eat. This is just a summary. Overall I was very irritated. I contacted Anthony's to let them know how I feel about the experience. I do that, not expecting a gift card or anything, just to give them a chance to respond before I post something publicly. You never know, maybe it was a misunderstanding or maybe I was in a bad mood. So here is their response 1) They don't take reservations for 2 people. (which could have been told me over the phone). 2) Server should have offered me to have something while my friend is having his soup. I told the manager that I would have preferred having the option to get my fish and chips while he is having his soup. But manager didn't acknowledge that. I think it "inconveniences" the kitchen, which is not my problem. 3) All you can eat was not available on that day. Well, I'm not going to read your menu as if it's a legal document. Make it more clear. Anyway, I still appreciate him calling. But I didn't really care of any of the explanations. Then I received a gift card from them that can be used at Seafood Grill at Alderwood location. I really didn't want to go back to Beach Café and I still wanted to use the gift card. So I went to Seafood Grill. Server was a little too animated but whatever. They can never please anyone. So that's not a big deal. My friend ordered salad with mango. It came with grapefruit. No mention of anything. When the server came back we asked if they ran out of mangos, and he apologized and said yes. Well, grapefruit and mango don't taste anything alike! We wouldn't have ordered it if we knew. So I submitted another feedback saying this was not acceptable and that I'm not trying to get a gift card or anything, but this was not OK! If I'm going to pay $20 for a bowl of salad, I would expect it to be made exactly how it's presented on the menu! They called me and acknowledged that it was a mistake and we weren't the only ones who didn't like it and that some stuff about they can't find quality mango, which is again NOT my problem. You just tell people that you don't have mango and they make a decision accordingly. The phone call was more like "Well, tough luck, we didn't have mango. Sorry!" Which means Anthony's chains are dead for me. Two bad experiences, one after another, in two different locations, means that it's over. It's sad because I have really good memories at Anthony's in Bellingham and Everett locations, in fact I went to these tow last locations to kind of rekindle that, but I'll take my business elsewhere. read more
