It all started out with a Groupon a while back. Of course I Yelped it before buying it because I am usually very particular with my hair. I am so glad I took the risk because now this is the only hair salon I will go to for cuts and color because of the amazing Tom! I have not dyed my hair in over 16 years and wanted a change and I knew Tom was the person that could touch my virgin hair, haha! He's been giving me amazing cuts and I was very confident he would deliver and would know exactly what would look good on me. I did a partial balayage back in July (starting out small since it's been a while) and have been getting glazes every 7-8 weeks. My hair has never felt healthier. I used to be one of those gals that would wait forever to get a haircut and have tons of split ends. Ever since Tom - I've been visiting on a routinely basis with trims and glazes and I love the way my hair feels. I trust Tom completely with my hair and now during every visit I will just ask him what he thinks would look good and go with that :) Whenever I have a special event, he'll make sure he dolls me up. He's amazing, he's the curl and color expert! Salon is pretty spacious, clean and can get very busy on the weekends - you definitely need to schedule an appointment. Best salon in town. Great talent. Kasia is my go-to girl, but Denise, Patty and Alex are all excellent.

Anthony is an even better person "in real life" than on the show. The salon is beautiful, even more so than I expected. The staff amazing, kind and friendly, smart and sharp. You feel instantly welcomed coming in and part of the family even if you live thousends of miles away. I came to see them and make an appointment which unfortunatly didn't work out due to poor sheduling on my part and I am so upset I could not get my hair done by them. I am more than confident I would have been in the best hands here. The prices are more than fair, you can make an appointment on the spot with no downpayment (unlike other salons i the area) and I would have trusted any of the staff with my hair no doubt. I had to go back because I noticed it was not doing what we thought it would. It was too thick still. Patty fixed it perfectly. She took so much weight off and she was fast. It was what I wanted initially before being told by Romina to keep it longer. I've been going to Kristen for over 5 years at this point, and she is the best in the business. She's colored, cut, styled my hair for events, etc. and leaves me feeling beautiful and blonde every single time I leave the salon! I had a groupon for this salon, but I still was treated really well (unlike some places that kind of blow you off since they know you aren't paying full price.) It shares its parking lot with a few other businesses, but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot. Hopefully it's not too bad when it's more crowded. The interior has a really nice, chic vibe too it. My hair was cut by Donna, who was super friendly and professional (and had cute boots). It was a really enjoyable experience, and the blow out made my hair look great! I also think the shampoo they use made my hair smell nice so I wish I'd thought to ask what it was and purchace some. Tom did a great job. After three years of letting my hair grow out the color it had before, I am basically skeptical of having to go through doing any highlights. My hair is thinning out and it's super black that I just got bored looking at my very "safe" style. Tom gave me layers, and did a balayage for my hair. After going here for over 7 years and being happy with Kasha's work, I have to say after COVID the service has gone downhill. Anthony seems to be strapped for money and I was specifically promised I was grandfathered in at $60, which is all I can afford for a simple haircut. I don't even use their shampoo and conditioner or styling products because I'm allergic. I bring my own. The last few times I went, Maria was nasty to me and raised my price to $75. I told her I was grandfathered in at $60. She haggled with me and said $65 was the best she could do. She wouldn't even let me talk to Anthony in the back. The next time I came in they raised me $70. Another argument insued since I was not prepared to pay that much. Recently I've been very sick and have been having trouble doing things I used to able to do for myself ...and I called Anthony and asked if I brought my hair colouring, how much would it be to have Kasha apply it, or anyone there to apply it. He quoted me $120 for the colour and raised my haircut to $75. He argued with me for about 10 minutes about how I should feel bad for him because the price of rent and his products were raised on him so therefore it should come out of my pocket. He specifically said "I don't haggle prices with customers " that's when I told him I am no longer a customer since greed is his new name and hung up on him. Bye Anthony. Your salon is going downhill. Now I see why he has gone through several partners over the years. He has a nasty side to him when push comes to shove. read more

Came here for a cut/color/wash with a Groupon. By far the most professional, pleasant and feel-good environment in any salon I've been to in NJ! I tried this salon for the first time today. I Booked a last minute color and blow out . I should've known how the appointment would go based on how friendly and accommodating the receptionist was when I called. I could not be happier with the stylist I was placed with, Dina. My color is better than its ever been after today. Her advice and recommendations were on point. The blowout was the cherry on top. The salon is somewhat small, but not cramped. High ceilings, exposed pipes, and overall cool industrial chic vibe. It's also clean; not piles of hair laying around. I cannot wait to return to this gem. read more

My mom's same old boring hairstyle was played out. It was long and one length all around and looking blah. We searched Yelp for help and found that Anthony Robert Salon was the closest salon to us. I called at 11:45am and was lucky to get a 12pm appointment for her. I say lucky because this place is BUSY (always a great sign). Every staff member was friendly (we had 3 people offer us something to drink), but my mom's hair stylist was the BEST! We had Kristen. My mom was a bit tentative about what style she ultimately wanted and had picked out a few daring (for her) short styles in a magazine. Before Kristen even touched her hair, she sat my mom down and helped her decide on a look and made sure they were on the same page before proceeding. I could see that my mom was put at ease immediately. She wound up getting some touch-up color (on her roots), subtle highlights, and a really cute short cut. I wish I could post before and after pics to emphasize the extent of the witchcraft Kristen performed on my mom's head, but I just know my mom would kill me. ; ) Kristen probably spent about 3 hours total on mom's hair, getting it JUST right. She even gave my mom a few tips and styling ideas. By the time we left, my mom was ridiculously happy with the whole experience, as was I (happy mom = happy daughter). I DEFINITELY recommend this salon, everyone that came in left looking wonderful. However, Kristen was simply amazing and I have no qualms directing anyone to her and her fantastic hair talent (magic?). My only complaint is that I now live in California and can't patronize this salon myself! On a side note: The owner, Anthony, was there and it's very apparent that he runs his business with a very warm and "family feel". He greeted his clients with big smiles and hugs. Update on the new Anthony Robert Salon. It is so FAB! Yep. I typed FAB because that is exactly what it is! Anthony is still amazing and wonderful. Kristen is still doing my hair and will be until they ban me from coming in and drinking all of their coffee. I am totally in love with Deniz, Jeff and the rest of Anthony's staff. His sister Maria usually works the front desk and she is as sweet and cute a button! I brought one of my personal clients in to get a hair cut from Anthony and she came out looking even more gorgeous. As if that is possible because she is already a total babe. A good chunk of my family now goes to the salon.My mom goes to Dina and literally looks 10 years younger now. I also think she would probably adopt Dina as her own if she wasn't already stuck with me but I digress...OH! Everyone has been complimenting on my hair. The last time that happened was when I was a teenager. Everything about this salon is top notch and 100 times better than any NYC salon I used to go to. The stylists take their time, listen and make you feel like family. I would not only recommend this salon to you but i would pick your tushy up and drive you there if you wanted to go! I've been coming here for a little while. I go to Tom and I am a redhead with long hair that I nickname "the beast". Red is so hard to get right, especially as I age and my beloved red is naturally changing. Tom is a brilliant colorist and stylist. He always knows exactly what to do, we are on the same page. I also get a great cut and blow out. Always leave looking and feeling fantastic. There is plenty of easy free parking, it's a lovely bustling salon. Stylish and modern, but not "too cool". It's a nice size and friendly set up. The staff is attentive and professional. And the bottom line is I walk out looking and feeling like a million bucks without spending a million. All the way from Oregon... and what an experience! Dina (senior stylist) cut and colored my hair. She's friendly, well-versed, and laid-back. It's very obvious that this is her passion and that she is very much an artist. The salon itself is beautifully designed and yet homey/welcoming. Very 'relax-full'. I was going to be in the area and wanted something 'new', but mostly was hoping for an 'experience'. Which it was. There is also a comfortable working relationship amongst all the staff. My friend recommend that I try Rose at this salon. OMG best blow out ever! I have had the same hair dresser for over 6 years and we recently had to break up. I am very picky about who I let touch my hair. She was so sweet and worked magic with my a dryer. Everyone says that was the best haircut I ever had! So happy to have a new hairdresser! Purchasing a Groupon for services is often hit or miss. Anthony Robert Salon hit it out of the park- I will definitely be returning. I purchased a Groupon and called to schedule an appointment for the cut & color- there weren't date or time restrictions and they were able to schedule me for that week. I've had experiences where being a Groupon customer is like being a second class citizen- this was not the case at Anthony Robert at all. My stylist for this visit was Tom. He was friendly, and provided suggestions for how I could make some changes, that I liked. What impressed me the most, was the attention to detail in giving me a great cut. Also, I had mentioned to him that I had a wedding that day and he triple checked that there wasn't any color on my forehead so I'd be photo ready. The quality of service at Anthony Roberts salon given to my cousin & me (2 separate occasions) has been excellent. Positives & Negatives: Positives: I decided to try Anthony Roberts salon a few weeks ago (early September 2014), and hair stylist, Kristen Okaly, did an amazing job. I have been to salons where they have overcharged on a mediocre haircut, or they would burn my hair to get my hair "on point" for less amount money. But the quality of care & pricing was a match made in heaven (Level 2 with Kristin: $55). I liked my first haircut there so much that I recommended Kristen to my cousin, & she did an excellent job with my cousin too. A cool bonus that I think should be offered at every hair salon: they offer coffee :) Negative: This review would not be honest if I did not mention the negatives. The woman who answers the phone can definitely try to be kinder. I am from NJ too, but the "jersey attitude" can be toned down a little - especially when new customers are asking questions. I almost decided to cancel my first appointment based on the attitude of the woman on the phone - I wondered if this was a reflection of the whole salon. Thankfully, it is not. I am NEVER one to gush about a salon because I am the most finicky picky bitch on the planet. But WOW was I impressed by this place. Lisa Cannizo rules my world and now has full ownership over my hair. Everyone was super sweet and everything turned out better then I could of imagined. If you don't book here, you're a damn fool. Wish you guys all the best and move your damn salon to NYC so I dont have to haul ass to see you guys! Lemme fill you in, she did the most epic and beautiful purple ombre with as little ease as popping in a lean cuisine. I was shocked at how amazing it was. Lisa is the best!!! Used a Groupon to get a good deal on a haircut for my thirteen year old daughter (who is not easy to please when it comes to matters of appearance). Donna did a wonderful job and was very patient with her. Really took her time and made sure she was happy, even straightening her hair and braiding it to her specifications. Big let down. This is what is was supposed to be: Anthony Robert Salon -- Haircut with an AR Energy Wash (Conditioning Treatment) and Blowout. Looked so promising! Was excited to try this salon. Here's what I got: Basic shampoo and leave in conditioner. Done in less than 5 minutes. I asked and was told that I did in fact have a massage and hot towel... What? The cut took less than 10 minutes and 10 for the blow dry. Basically she took an inch off- Done in 1/2 an hour. Totally bummed. Big let down. read more

First off, I was really excited to try this salon, since I loved watching Anthony on Jerseylicious back when I still had cable... Anyways, I was definitely excited, but unfortunately, a couple of things went wrong: First, my hairstylist, Karla was running an hour late for my appointment. Anthony later apologized and said it was his fault, since he overlooked her blow-out appointment on the calendar, ah well. Mistakes happen. And at least they brought me water & hot tea while I was waiting. Karla then offered to give me a free deep-conditioning and Anthony also gave me a set of shampoos, since I had to wait so long. The hair cut was great, but I was a bit disappointed in the hair color. I wanted her to cover-up my dark roots that had grown out, but for some reason she actually colored my base tone darker than my natural color (a reddish brown). It doesn't look terrible, but she definitely only highlighted my roots further, by making them darker instead of lightening them, so I can go a couple of weeks before having to dye them again. TL;DR: Pros: Everyone's very nice, hair cut was good, tried to rectify their mistake Cons: had to wait for an hour after appointment time, hair color was too dark (didn't help, but only emphasized roots); Also, parking was awful that day (they share the lot with 3 other businesses) All in all, I had an o.k. experience, and therefore I give them 3 stars. read more

I am still in complete shock as I write this review, as being a business owner myself, I understand the importance that theres always two sides to a situation but I am so disgusted that I just CAN NOT hold back!!! I've had my professional hair extension business for over 11 years now, its 100% human hair and I've never had this happen to me. I went for a blowout and they COMPLETELY destroyed my hair! They knotted the whole thing while the shampoo girl was washing it! I left the salon in tears they couldn't do anything and blamed me I used the wrong product! I am astonished this happened! On my first visit to the salon I went to the "Blowout Bar" on a Thursday night and was very disappointed with my stylist. I paid $50 for a blow out and I left there with my hair a frizzy mess. However, the friend I went to the "Blowout Bar" with was very happy with her stylist and now goes there on a regular basis for a cut and color. I visited the salon for the first time today. Tom performed a double process color and cut, I love it! He is very talented and super sweet. He explains everything he is going to do before and while he is doing it. That gave me a lot of confidence in his skill. The whole staff is friendly and outgoing. I've had bad experiences in the past at other salons and I get very nervous when I am in the chair. I am happy I finally found a place where I can be at ease. read more
