I told her that I wasn't going to pay her, so she physically put her body in the way of my car door so I couldn't leave. I then got out of my car and walked to the street to flag down a police officer, she followed me there too, and told me that there's an ATM in the donut store across the street. So I pretended to go along with her suggestion and got in my car and left. The business has apparently gone downhill to the point that she has resorted to these strongarm tactics, which are nothing short of traumatizing.

It hurt worse than any Brazilian wax I have had. Obviously, that depends on pain tolerance. The girl who waxed me was not the owner (probably mid 20s). She told me to do all the normal positions and it seemed like she was doing a good job. I specifically asked if she got a spot (it occasionally gets missed) and before I even finished asking she interrupted and said yes. When I was done, and my knees were still open on the table (exposing me to the lobby), she opened the door yelled "done!" At me and left the room. There was still sugar stuck to me. When I got home I decided to check out the work. She missed MANY spots including the spot I asked about. Very unprofessional and rude. Will not be returning.

On Friday, I decided to check out the new nail salon that just opened near my house. The place that…read morewas there before wasn't so great, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, my expectations were definitely exceeded. For starters, the place looks great inside. The new owners have done an amazing job decorating and it now looks more elegant than it did before. I got there as soon as they opened and decided on a mani/pedi. The place was immaculate, there were plenty of OPI and Essie colors to choose from and the woman who did my nails - Sandra - was wonderful, personable, and excellent at her job. I especially appreciated the mini massage that she gave me on my shoulders as I waited for my nails to dry! I have to say that I got a way better mani/pedi than ones that I've gotten at a certain large salon/spa in Montclair for half the price ($26!!). Needless to say, this alone would have been enough to make me come back. But what happened AFTER my services is what really will keep me coming back... Like a moron, I left my engagement ring in the ring keeper after I got my heavenly hand massage. This wasn't just any ring. It once belonged to my husband's grandmother. So, as you can guess, it's pretty invaluable in a sentimental kind of way. Of course, I didn't realize the ring was missing until that evening. Frantic, I tried to retrace my steps, thinking about where I could have lost it. I finally realized that it must have been at the nail salon. As you can imagine, I had a fitful night of sleep that evening! I arrive at the salon the next morning - a full 24 hours after I had left it - thinking for sure that it wouldn't be there. It was. I couldn't believe it! A number of things could have happened, but Sandra recognized me as soon as I arrive and got the owner/manager to get my ring. There aren't many people or businesses who are this honest. They have a client for life! FYI...There is plenty of parking on the street, but there is also a small lot on the side of the building.

This place was recommended to me by a dear friend and I'm so happy she did. I have NEVER gone back to hot wax and never will. First its way more sanitary. they are not using the same hot wax that has been sitting in that heat all day that has been dipped into over and over. Also it does not burn your skin so if your like me and your sensitive, it works. It takes about 20 min and best part, its way cheaper than that hot wax crap (about average $45 for Brazilian depending) and way less painful that's for sure. I have since then recommend several people all who swear by this place and go faithfully every few weeks. The owner is definitely accommodating. I call or text her and she makes my appointments no problem. If I am late she tries and works with me. I love her. She is the sweetest. If your someone that does the hot wax thing, give this process a try. I absolutely will not Hot wax ever. Sugaring is the best in my opinion.

I have been going to this nail salon for almost a year and have actually always enjoyed the service…read morethere. The girls that work there are great it's a nice salon. I got my first set of acrylic tips and nails a few weeks ago. I went this past Sunday to get a fill in and there are apparently only a couple of techs in this salon do acrylic nails. The girl that did my nails was not the person that normally does my gel manicures. The manager/owner assured me that this nail tech was very good. When I sat down I told her that I did not want gel on top of my acrylic because I noticed she had a bottle of gel nail color and she said OK. Then she told me it was going to be $70 for a fill-in and I almost fell out of my chair. I've never paid more than $30-$40 tops. I asked her again are you sure you charge $70 for a regular acrylic nail fill and she said yes. I didn't want to cause a scene so I just sat there and let her do my nails at a premium which is ridiculous. Plus she put gel on my nails after I specifically told her I did not want it. She had quite an attitude with me as well. I really should have requested a refund or gotten up and left but I didn't. So after almost a year of having pleasant experiences I will no longer go to this salon. To have been charged that amount of money for a simple fill in is ludicrous and they should understand that there are nail salons pretty much on every corner that people can choose to go to. Good luck!!

Detailed Account of Negligent Service Formal Complaint…read moreRegarding Negligent Eyebrow Waxing Service and Subsequent Skin Damage Service Performed: Eyebrow Shaping and Waxing Time of Service: April 2025, Esthetician: T. Result: Severe skin damage requiring immediate medical attention, resulting in prolonged physical and professional inconvenience. During the service, I experienced clear indications of improper technique and negligent care: Excessive Heat: The applied beeswax felt excessively hot, indicating an improper temperature setting. Aggressive Removal: The removal of the wax sheet by the esthetician was noticeably aggressive and forceful. Immediate Pain & Acknowledgment: Immediately after the wax removal, I informed the esthetician, Treasure, that the areas above and between my eyebrows were extremely painful. Negligent Aftercare: I questioned whether a proper post-wax cleanser (such as rubbing alcohol) had been used. Treasure confirmed that "No" such cleanser was applied. I was only advised to use a generic ointment and Vitamin E oil. Upon returning home, the painful area above and between my eyebrows became severely red and inflamed. I subsequently confirmed that the skin in these blotches-on both sides above the brow and between the brows-had been physically lifted and removed (skin abrasion/burn). Current State of Injury: The damaged area has progressed from red to pink and is now a noticeable brown/hyperpigmented color. Permanent Damage: The injury to the skin, particularly above the left eyebrow, remains visible even after two professional consultations, indicating permanent damage and a high risk of long-term scarring. Personal and Professional Impact: I have been forced to stay indoors and rigorously avoid all sun exposure to prevent further hyperpigmentation. This has caused significant personal and professional inconvenience, including the cancellation of scheduled appointments. Initial In-Person Follow-Up: I returned to the salon to show the extent of the damage. I spoke with an employee named Emily, who confirmed the owner / manager was unavailable. Broken Financial Commitment: The business owner promised in written format to reimburse all current and future dermatology visit fees related to this injury. However, the owner failed to follow through on this commitment, and all subsequent attempts to contact them regarding payment have been ignored. Lack of Response to Third Party: I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but the business owner did not respond to the inquiry at all, demonstrating a profound lack of professionalism and accountability. This incident reflects a severe lapse in professional standards, commitment, and customer care. I have suffered a painful and lasting physical injury, permanent damage to my left eyebrow, and significant inconvenience due to the negligence of the esthetician and the subsequent failure of the business owner to uphold their financial commitment and basic professional responsibility.

Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with the service I received on June 28, 2026. I arrived for my scheduled appointment with Carmen, after receiving multiple appointment reminders and a voicemail confirmation. Upon arrival, I was informed that my appointment had been changed. Carmen then approached me and stated her manager had contacted me. I advised her that I had never received any call from a manager. Carmen proceeded to state that she had been told I informed her manager that I tip her through a mobile payment service. This statement is completely false. I have never spoken with any manager regarding tips, nor have I made such a statement. The last tip I provided to Carmen was given in an envelope. Carmen then informed me that, because of this situation, she no longer wished to see me as a client. I was shocked and embarrassed, especially since these accusations were made in front of other customers. Not only was I not properly notified about the appointment change before arriving, but I was also falsely accused and publicly embarrassed. To make matters worse, I was told that if I wanted to be seen by another associate, I would have to wait an additional hour. This entire experience was unprofessional and disappointing. As a customer, I should not feel pressured to tip out of fear that false accusations will be made against me. Given this experience, I have lost confidence in this location and its management. I only have two passes remaining, and I will use them at another location. After that, I do not plan to return to European Wax Center. I hope this matter is reviewed seriously, as no customer should be treated in this manner.

Review is NOT for service - I've received nothing but excellent service here…read more My review is for the fact that I did not agree to renew a wax pass (they are very relentless with asking you to renew and take advantage of the special promotion - which seems to be offered year round) and was charged for it anyway - over $600. I did not notice the renewal right away since the first charge was in December and I had a service on December 22, planning for that to be my last wax after 20+ years as a loyal EWC customer. That charge appeared on my January statement (which I received in late January); I assumed it was for the December service. I noticed the 2nd charge on my February statement, which I didn't review right away. Everyone in my household had covid and a lot of everyday tasks slipped for a while. I called at the end of March to say "Hi, can we please take care of this" and the answer I finally got today from the location manager was, Nope, since I didn't call within 30 days of the first charge. I didn't even know about the first charge within 30 days! So, I guess this is on me - $600 worth of waxing which I will never use - for not being zealous about checking my credit card statement.
