Started to regularly get facials leading up to my wedding and Becca was fantastic! She throughly examined my skin and made recommendations for me. Even sent me home with mini samples to test out. Had an amazing facial and looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend getting a facial here! read more

Detailed Account of Negligent Service Formal Complaint Regarding Negligent Eyebrow Waxing Service and Subsequent Skin Damage Service Performed: Eyebrow Shaping and Waxing Time of Service: April 2025, Esthetician: T. Result: Severe skin damage requiring immediate medical attention, resulting in prolonged physical and professional inconvenience. During the service, I experienced clear indications of improper technique and negligent care: Excessive Heat: The applied beeswax felt excessively hot, indicating an improper temperature setting. Aggressive Removal: The removal of the wax sheet by the esthetician was noticeably aggressive and forceful. Immediate Pain & Acknowledgment: Immediately after the wax removal, I informed the esthetician, Treasure, that the areas above and between my eyebrows were extremely painful. Negligent Aftercare: I questioned whether a proper post-wax cleanser (such as rubbing alcohol) had been used. Treasure confirmed that "No" such cleanser was applied. I was only advised to use a generic ointment and Vitamin E oil. Upon returning home, the painful area above and between my eyebrows became severely red and inflamed. I subsequently confirmed that the skin in these blotches-on both sides above the brow and between the brows-had been physically lifted and removed (skin abrasion/burn). Current State of Injury: The damaged area has progressed from red to pink and is now a noticeable brown/hyperpigmented color. Permanent Damage: The injury to the skin, particularly above the left eyebrow, remains visible even after two professional consultations, indicating permanent damage and a high risk of long-term scarring. Personal and Professional Impact: I have been forced to stay indoors and rigorously avoid all sun exposure to prevent further hyperpigmentation. This has caused significant personal and professional inconvenience, including the cancellation of scheduled appointments. Initial In-Person Follow-Up: I returned to the salon to show the extent of the damage. I spoke with an employee named Emily, who confirmed the owner / manager was unavailable. Broken Financial Commitment: The business owner promised in written format to reimburse all current and future dermatology visit fees related to this injury. However, the owner failed to follow through on this commitment, and all subsequent attempts to contact them regarding payment have been ignored. Lack of Response to Third Party: I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but the business owner did not respond to the inquiry at all, demonstrating a profound lack of professionalism and accountability. This incident reflects a severe lapse in professional standards, commitment, and customer care. I have suffered a painful and lasting physical injury, permanent damage to my left eyebrow, and significant inconvenience due to the negligence of the esthetician and the subsequent failure of the business owner to uphold their financial commitment and basic professional responsibility. read more

Let me tell you something: I don't let just anyone touch my face. I am VERY skeptical of facials and massages in general but BAAABBYYYY...Ms. Treasure proved to be trustworthy as well as very professional. I've booked with her twice - the second time I got a facial, I included a neck and shoulder massage. I'll tell you one thing: she can have all my money. Her facials are thorough and well as her massages. She's not one of those workers who talk through the service about their problems. She asks her questions and that's it, very gentle, respectful and straight to the point. I visit and the end/beginning of each season for a facial and will always come back. Ladies/Gents - definitely check them out. You won't be disappointed! read more

I've been going to SKN quarterly for over 2 years now and it has become such an important part of taking care of my skin. Rebecca is so helpful and knowledgeable with skincare products. The facials she provides are so gentle yet effective, I honestly fall asleep everytime even during the extractions. The spa facility is also very relaxing, clean & organized. read more

SKN - Skin Care Near Me - Montclair, New Jersey

I have been a SKN customer for years now when Kate was located in a smaller location in Montclair. I have been coming back because the facials are absolutely amazing. Whenever I get a service I come out relaxed and rejuvenated. I have gotten facials with Kate & Treasure (highly recommend!). I have also gotten a massage with Kristi. Her hands are absolutely magical! Even though I've moved I try to schedule an appointment when I plan on being in the area because it's so worth it. read more

If you've been thinking about getting a facial and massage, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK AN APPT ASAP! I am amazed at how clean, dewy and clear my skin is feeling after my facial with Treasure. She was so delicate to touch when it came to extractions and wakes me thru each step of the collagen mask. Seriously my skin has NEVER looked so good. Due to WFH like everyone else, my posture has become even worse causing me pain in my lower back region. I booked a total stretch session and massage with Kristi and I didn't even know how to walk afterwards. I literally felt like I was walking in a new body on cloud 9. The technique and pressure she uses will have your body feeling brand new. read more

Great massage, thoughtful and experienced staff. If you live in the Montclair area, this is a great choice for spa services.

I recently came here back in July because it was the perfect local option for a prenatal massage and let me just say that it blew my mind. I was totally relaxed and everyone made you feel at home. I cannot wait for my next appointment! Definitely my new favorite place read more

Naturally, a year out from my wedding date my face broke out the worse it's ever been. I booked a 60 minute facial + chemical peel with Treasure. They recently hired Kirsti for massage therapy, so I also treated myself to a 90 minute massage. My facial was amazing! I have had various facials from various medical spas but this was hands down the best experience. The atmosphere was super relaxing and spa-like. Treasure educated me through the whole treatment, reviewed my current regimen and provided me with recommendations and adjustments. One week after my peel my face has cleared up almost 80%! Super pleased! My massage with Kirsti was super relaxing. Kirsti spend her time on every area, making sure I was relax and always checking her preaches (which I think is super important)! She was very knowledge and overall a super relaxing experience! Thank you ladies, I can't wait to return! read more

I could not recommend this place more. This is by far the best skin care spa I've ever been to. Treasure gives the best facial I've ever had, hands down. She kind and welcoming but also very skilled and attentive. It feels like there's no down time for her during each facial. She is intentional with every treatment and touch, ensuring to address any and all concerns you may have. I have always been looking for my permanent home for skin care and I'm ecstatic that I found it in SKN. read more

Just finished a 60 min facial with Rebecca and it was an incredible experience. The ambience in SKN is so beautiful and relaxing. Her hands are very gentle and she was very kind to my skin. First time client here! I scored my first facial with Kate, who was nothing short of amazing. My skin has been breaking out the worst it ever has and Kate was able to help me understand why and make suggestions on how to improve my skin from the inside out. She was so knowledgeable and provided a very comfortable atmosphere. Not to mention, her hands are a godsend. Almost had me falling asleep! Kate helped me book out my next 2 appointments and provided me with paperwork to prepare for a chemical peel. She assured me that even though she is very booked, her associates are just as able as she is! Aesthetician prices are pricier but you cannot even complain due to the quality of the work you're getting here. 100/10 recommend, my skin feels amazing today! read more

I had a great experience at SKN. Rebecca was really good. My skin looks great. Already scheduled my next appointment. Definitely recommend!

I have been coming to SKN for years now to Kate and Treasure for facials and microdermabrasion but i recently came back to try out their new massage therapist, Kirsti. Wow!! What a welcome addition to the already super talented and warm crew. I do not usually like massages because "everything hurts". She is so skilled and somehow knew just the right pressure for me. I am a hairdresser and i get all types of aches and pains and kirsti took the time to address each area and left me feeling renewed! I will definitely be back. read more

Worst facial experience ever!!! I went here for a simple extraction facial before a wedding and I walked out with ringworm on both sides of my face. I literally had a clear face, but I figured since I was gonna be a bridesmaid I should splurge on removing some blackheads. Two months later, I'm still seeing a dermatologist about the scarring and constant itch on both my cheeks. I've gotten facials before and I have never in my life ever had an adverse reaction such as the one I did at this place. I still cannot wear makeup because when I do the bubbles brew again and the itch is unbelievable. Every time I sweat, the redness and scales flare up. Needless to say, we're in the middle of summer. I have not been able to go to beaches or outings. This literally ruined my face forever. I will post pictures so you guys can see. To add insult to injury, after leaving the spa I immediately contacted Kate telling her that my face was extremely red and itchy. I even showed up to the office. When she saw me, she didn't even remember what treatment I had just received. Her words were, "you got a microdermabrasion right?" Wrong. Her second guess, "a chemical peel" wrong again. After I refreshed her memory of the client she had just literally saw 1 hour ago, her solution was I go buy over-the-counter hydrocortisone and not wear any makeup. She asked if I have sensitive skin, if she would have read the initial intake, she would have known I don't. I put all types of different products on my face whether it be cleansers, toners, face masks, moisturizers and makeup brands and I have never ever broken out like I did that day. Either way I went to CVS and I applied the ointment immediately. Hoping to God my face would be back to normal for the wedding. The next day I was forced to show up to the wedding bare face (the worst feeling ever) while my face was burning the entire time due to me sweating. Not to mention, I had red spots for new pimples everywhere. As the days progressed, I kept in contact with her advising her that my face was getting worst and the allergic reaction was spreading. Also, there was big pimples and new acne that has sprouted after the facial. I kinda had a feeling her equipment was most probably unsanitary because of how much my face was itching immediately after leaving. Still I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I made an appointment to my dermatologist, and when I went in to see him he immediately said I had ringworm. I assumed that from the scaly red itchy circles I had on my face. He gave me an ointment, and it still itches from time to time. But what's worst is that I know have two scars. Every time I still wear makeup it itches uncontrollably. My face will never be the same. I contacted Kate a week later asking for a refund to which her reply was she could only give me 50% back. I told her that's fine and proceeded to file a complaint with my credit card company. I'm still looking to sue this establishment for ruining my face. Stay clear from this place. Not only is it wrong to do this to someone who paid a decent amount of money, you wash your hands of it, and then not even offer to credit me back. This place has no ethics, no loyalty to their customer and is not clean whatsoever. I went to Montclair to get an upscale facial when I could have very well went to any place on Groupon and would have gotten better services. I was steered by the reviews, but seriously don't let that blind you. Protect your face and try some place that values their client's skin. Don't say I didn't warn you. If I could save someone from going thru the headache and stress I did, I'm satisfied. read more

I love this place it helps me keep my skin beautiful and clear I've even brought my younger brother who is dealing with teenage acne.

I've been going to Kate for all my skincare needs for years now, since before she started her own business. She always knows exactly what my skin needs, both treatment-wise and also when she recommends products. I have sensitive/problematic skin, and it's such a relief to know that I can go to her for consistent results. I usually get the microdermabrasion and always walk out of SKN with my face feeling incredibly smooth and renewed. I've also experienced her high-frequency treatment, enzyme peels, and LED light treatments. She is truly an expert at what she does - I now have to book my appointments months in advance because everyone else has figured that out, but it's totally worth it! If you're looking for a new esthetician, look no further! read more

SKN recently added massages to their list of services and it was the best decision! The 90 Swedish massage with Kirsti was much needed and more after a long, stressful year. She spends a significant amount of time on each muscle, making sure the tension is lessened. The 90 minutes felt much longer than I expected and I highly recommend Kirsti! I will definitely be adding this service to my routine along with the facials at SKN. read more

I absolutely love SKN. From the moment you walk in it already feels like you are in the different world. Nice relaxing smell of eucalyptus, soothing music, dimmed light, chic design of the whole space I just love it! On top of that I always get the BEST FACIALS there. The price is just right and much better then anywhere else for what you get! The best thing about SKN is that you get personalized facial, Kate customizes it for you, which is great, because I never know what is best for my skin. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

From the moment you walk into SKN, you can tell that Kate takes her job seriously & loves what she does. Though the spa itself is small, what it lacks in size it makes up for in decor (that gorgeous palm wallpaper!) and heart. I received a standard 60-minute facial with a 15-minute microdermabrasion add on. Not only is the price extremely fair for microdermabrasion, but the add ons to the menu are ideal for anyone who wants to try something new. Her products smell like cake and the ocean (isn't that a song?) and she takes her time with her clients. I was impressed with the equipment she has & her knowledge in specifically targeting and treating each individual's needs. Kate is kind and professional throughout. I woke up this morning with the skin of a newborn - SMOOTHER than it's literally ever been & my red post-acne marks have all subsided. I have the perfect base for makeup, too & I'm excited to look my best on my wedding day. Thank you, Kate, and I will certainly be back for more. read more

I've been here twice for facials with Treasure. The salon is a cute small location tucked away in one of the buildings on Bloomfield ave. A bit hard to find the first day but once you're there, the ambiance is very nice. The treatment room is very relaxing. I felt that Treasure was very knowledgeable and she gave me advice on what products to be using and what would work for my skin. I took her advice and saw a difference with that. My first treatment was a regular 60 min facial then I did the facial plus microdermabrasion. I am very happy with the service and treatments and I will continue to come back. read more

I've been getting facials with Treasure for the past year and my skin has never looked better. Everyone always comments on how bright and clear my skin looks after I leave! I struggle with acne and scarring and I see a difference in my skin immediately after every appointment. They're also super relaxing and help you relieve tension you didn't even realize you had. I most recently got a back facial which left my skin feeling super clean & soft and she extracted blackheads in hard to reach places. All of the products they use are great for sensitive skin while still doing an amazing job of cleansing & hydrating. I've sent all of my friends and family here and they all love it as much as I do! read more

I never had a facial before and was nervous because I have really sensitive skin. My experience here was fantastic! Once you enter the room, Kate dedicates her time to you - no distractions from phone calls or anything. She examines your skin thoroughly and suggests changes in your routine based on your skin type. I even got to sample a few products that have now become part of my daily routine. The facial with extractions left my skin glowing and helped clear up my pores. Not to mention it was so relaxing! I got married shortly after my second facial and my MUA really noticed the difference without me even telling her I got a facial. Unfortunately for me, I am moving and will no longer be able to come here. I highly recommend Kate - she is the best! Yes, she is very busy and is difficult to reach at times since she is doing it all, but her services are worth it. read more

I've been coming to SKN for several months now and have loved my experience with Kate. She is extremely professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and genuine. I explained to Kate that I have been going to a dermatologist for months and nothing is working to clear up my acne. She asked me questions about what I wanted to achieve with my skin and she knew right away what I needed. She chatted with me about specific skin type and concerns throughout my treatment. After doing a chemical peel on my face, it has never looked or felt this good. I finally feel confident thanks to Kate! SKN is a very pretty, clean, and calming atmosphere when you walk in. SKN has been an absolute dream! I cannot recommend Kate highly enough!! read more

If I could give SKN 10 stars I would. I went for my second facial today with Treasure and it was hands down the best facial I've ever had. She was so thorough and answered any and all questions I had and was really honest with me about what she thinks I would benefit from and not. I had an hour facial + microdermabrasion for my texture and I'm so happy I did so. I found it extremely challenging to get in touch via phone, I would have been better off finding time out of my schedule to email. Anyways, I took a week off of work to get a chemical peel on Sunday so I could go to back to work the following Sunday only to be contacted three times to reschedule towards the end of the week and then reschedule the following month. I'm really disappointed because now it's too late for me to get a peel here and anywhere else.
