A while ago, Anthony came right over to fix a switch.. I thought great.. He refused to shut off the electricity but then had the switch in his hand with a screwdriver and proceeded to cause electric sparks, its ok, I am just joking, he said. But when he finished, the switch was making the same noise as before I had called him ( and this is with a new switch) he just tightened it, rather than exchange it out for another one. He also expected coffee and biscotti which he did not get. Needless to say, I found a wonderful new electrician who came over to look at this switch and it has now been working fine. read more

I've never had a good electrician. Once I called an electrician to ask about having a light fixture installed, and he quoted me a price that was four times the price of the fixture. Needless to say, the fixture has been sitting in my basement for six years. So, when we put our house on the market and we had a few electrical questions that we needed answered, we called Anthony Morelli. And what a sweetheart he is -- so honest, so thorough, so comprehensive, and so reasonably priced. (He also loves to chat when he's done, and he told us about a great place to get clams on Rt. 133). Anthony and Jeremy did a ton of work on our house, which as it turns out was very poorly wired. He updated our circuit panel, added recessed lights to 2 rooms, replaced all outlets and did some other miscellaneous work with switches and outlets. He was great about keeping us in the loop when the job turned out to be more complex than he anticipated (our ceilings are mesh not sheetrock and our old panel was overcrowded with hidden boxes behind the panel) and his ultimate price was extremely fair. He's very responsive and great about scheduling appointments. We will use Anthony again and will recommend him to friends. read more

I'm a real estate professional who deals with contractors weekly for the properties I manage and I have to say Tony is Godsend to work with! Anthony responded very quickly to my request and was able to fit me in over the weekend for a small issue in my new house that was identified during inspection. He fixed the immediate problem, and patiently explained follow-up that needed to happen -- if not to make things up to code, but for safety and to avoid any issues in the future. Anthony Morelli did a great job upgrading the electrical outlets in our house throughout, upgrading all of the outlet and switch plates so they matched, adding/rewiring lights in our basement and garage, and adding an outdoor spotlight. Mr. Morelli was busy and had to juggle me a bit, but was well worth the wait. Quality work that I am still appreciating months later. read more

I had high expectations of Anthony when I called him to replace our bathroom fan, a sturdy old Nutone unit with interchangeable parts. He came and immediately advised that we replace the whole unit for $450 and pointed out that our system was obsolete and should be thrown out. Since the heater and lights still worked perfectly, I offered to obtain the fan unit and he agreed to return and install it for $90. A 15 minute search on the web revealed that not only was our unit still being made, but I had the part picked out and paid for. $120 with shipping. On the second visit, he again insisted that the whole thing should be replaced and that I had bought the wrong part, and I asked him to please try to install the new fan I had bought. He had his assistant climb up on a ladder, and lo and behold, the component came out instantly. "It's your lucky day" he said. Within less than 10 minutes the repair was complete. "You've been very lucky" he said again, charged me $130 and left. That night I stepped on a screw in the bathroom directly under the fan. The next morning, the fan rattled and shook. This time I went up on a ladder myself and discovered that the heavy metal cover with the glass lens was not suspended by two bolts as it should be, but only from one... literally dangling by a thread. Inside, the two components that make up the unit were not properly lined up, which pinched the new fan unit, causing it to vibrate and rattle. It took me less than ten minutes to assemble everything properly, and also to replace the screw i had found on the floor, and to find a replacement for the missing bolt for the cowl. Now the fan is whisper quiet, the rattle and vibration are gone, and everything is well. Mr. Morelli is pleasant and was on time, but I didn't feel the work performed was congruent with the glowing reports I had read on Yelp. A $40 surcharge for a job I had to correct the very next day. I'm sorry to say I won't be calling him the next time I need something. read more

Terrible. Stretched a 3 week, promised job, into 4 months. Came in 30% above budget (thousands $'s) with no excuses. Literally did not complete 1/3 of the work he agreed to in our written contract. Pathetic, completely unprofessional, and disorganized. Work completed was shoddy, I don't think any outlet or switch is level in our drywall. Agreed with the outrageous Hrly rate, at the end I was quoted something like $185 and hour. Is this guy out of his mind? Is he a heart surgeon? Watch out for undisclosed arc felts charges of $800 with a panel installation! Some days, I swear he would come by just to take a p()()p in my toilet and then leave for another job. Weirdo, you figure after 75 years "in the trade" he could at least cut a hole and install a plug level. read more

Anthony is a dependable guy that does good work. He hung and installed 6 ceiling fans for us, a significantly more complex and challenging job than either he or we anticipated. He showed up when he said he would, brought all the tools and materials he needed, was conscious of our house and belongings, and cleaned up after the work was done. read more

They installed a bathroom fan for me (such a minor job, but I'm hopeless) and they did it with such care and attention to detail (though I think they were limited to the fan I chose, soon I might need them to come back with there recommendation and re-install). Tony is JUST GREAT. He has the trifecta of desirable qualities that I look for in anyone coming to work on my home: 1.) Makes an appointment and shows up when he says he will 2.) Professional, respectful of everything else in my home 3.) Most important of all - fair hourly rates, upfront, no-BS estimates and several decades worth of expertise. We have a trickier, older house and he's always up for talking through multiple solutions to a problem, providing estimates with pros/cons for each and never pushing/upselling. He doesn't rush the conversation and actually listens to my project goal; he often proposes solutions that never would have occurred to me because I have zilch in the way of electrical/home-owning experience - that is a huge value to me. I've learned A LOT from him. On a couple projects, had I known to check with him in advance, his advice would have saved us a bunch of money so he definitely isn't looking to talk you into the most expensive solution - just the one that's safe and going to last. To the gentleman complaining after buying his own fan/parts. One time I asked my Dad if it was OK to shop around for car parts after getting an estimate from a mechanic. He said, "you don't bring your own food to the restaurant." You can always find something cheaper on the Internet. Cheaper is not necessarily a better value - cheaper often means lower quality, risking counterfeits and lack of a guarantee. I've never felt overcharged for parts with Tony - he guarantees every part he puts in. He'll put in your stuff but how can he guarantee the quality of something he doesn't know? That's the risk you take. Me, I trust our electrician, plumber, mechanic, etc. so I trust that they'll charge me their cost plus a standard 10-15% markup (for me, having someone pick the right thing the first time actually saves me money). My time is valuable. I have no interest in "shopping around" if an expert says, "here are your three best options, here's what they cost, here are the pros/cons of each, let me know what you want to do." If they've narrowed the field and made my decision easier saving me time/money - that to me is what used to be called full-service. I appreciate solid full-service and Tony provides that at fair rates. You want do-it-yourself? Then go to a do-it-yourself shop, buy your own materials and do your own work. Don't ask a full-service guy to do a half-service job. read more

Just as the other reviewers indicated, Anthony Morelli is a very dependable, honest, and experienced electrician. I had hired Anthony to perform some work on a heating system that had failed. He first tried to fix the unit to try to save me money and explained everything along the way. In the end he found me cost effective new units for my rental property with surprisingly no cosmetic fixes to my walls needed. The work was done quickly and everything was cleaned up on their exit.
