I would not come back here. Had a bad experience on a weekday late morning breakfast. Our table was dirty when we sat down I was given cold coffee , 2nd cup was fine. I ordered standard eggs Benedict. The eggs were overdone, yolks hard and English muffins so hard and stale I couldn't cut through it. Had them take it back, waited a long time for the 2nd order and the eggs were way underdone! Waiter or manager never checked back . I visited Another Broken Egg a few days ago and ordered the country power bowl. This was by far my favorite menu item because of the variety of food that it came with and how tasty they are. It comes with scrambled eggs, ham, onions, tomatoes, cheese grits, bacon, and a biscuit smothered in gravy. The potatoes were also fantastic and paired nicely with the main dish. The bowl was much bigger than expected so the extra side was not needed. I also ordered a strawberry mimosa and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was (this could be my favorite mimosa of all time). I had brunch here with my husband and son and enjoyed the experience. The facility is clean and well-maintained; with a bustling upscale breakfast-centric cafe ambiance. Our server was friendly and attentive. There are so many great breakfast/brunch choices to choose from. This is one of the few places where I do not always get my "usual", and often branch out to several things on the menu. The area is in a wonderful location, and I often stop by the botanical gardens after eating. The only draw back is parking is scarce and you will often have to park a street or two over. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch places to stop and eat at. I ordered their shrimp and grits with orange juice. The food was very flavorful, and the consistency of the grits was amazing. The service was great; I didn't have much of a wait considering that I came early in the week. There were not many COVID-19 protocols, but many restaurants are slowly returning to normal. After church brunch was fast, delicious, and great service. First, we checked yelp for reviews and to join the waitlist for this establishment. We were the 12th on the waitlists and was given a time to arrive by. Once we arrived we gave the hostess our name and was seated promptly. So joining the waitlists on yelp was beneficial because this line was out the door. The food was good no complaints and the service was awesome. Darnecia was our server and she was amazing. Had another great experience with this restaurant, first time trying the Birmingham location though! Everything was very flavorful and delicious as usual! My feelings in this restaurant are somewhat mixed. The staff is typically very nice, only a couple of times have we had anyone who wasn't. The food on the other hand is hit or miss. I've ordered a few different things every time I've gone, hoping to find a favorite. With the exception of the one time I got oatmeal, I wasn't impressed and left not feeling great. They are used to accommodating crowds so that is a plus and a good option to consider if that is your need. *Update* the business page director has since contacted me asking for my number. Out of all of my visits here (hello, dutchess-status?) this was the first time I left with the feeling of plain 'ol unhappiness. I sat at the bar, which I usually do when I am by myself, and the service was just not good. She wasn't particularly ineffective, just curt and not very friendly. I ordered my now-usual, GF pancakes, eggs, and bacon. At first she brought me the wrong syrup. When I pointed it out, she took it back and brought me the correct syrup. No problem. The two eggs scrambled were more like one egg left over from another order. I pointed out how small the order was and she said that it was the correct amount, as it is pre-measured. Ok, not arguing, fine. I took a bite out of the eggs and they were cold, confirming my suspicion that they were just left over from another order. I waited a few minutes and then went and found her in another part of the restaurant. She took the eggs back and had them re-cooked. I was also only given one, small jar of syrup for my huge order of GF pancakes and when I asked for a second she exasperatingly said "Another one?" I nodded and confirmed. She asked another server to give it to me. I'm guessing she was trying to get back to tables in another section at this point. Second order of eggs was hot and obviously cooked-to-order. At the end of the meal, I gave her my credit card for the check. She brought back the check and I was charged more than double what my total should have been. I pointed this out to her and, without comment, she took the check back and I guess found a manager to adjust it and brought it back with the correct total. I asked if I can have a receipt for the voided charge and she said it was not a "void" because the charge did not go through. I immediately pulled up my banking app and saw that the prior charge was indeed pending on my account at which point she just told me it would fall off (disregarding her previous argument that the card was "never" charged). I said "fine". The thing that probably bothers me the most was that there was no apology for any of the aforementioned occurrences, including the erroneous charge. And she debated me about every single request or comment I made. Like, I eat here every other week and I always get the same thing, the same way. I know what I want and what it looks like. *sigh* I was sure to tip no less than 20 percent despite the service, lest I vindicate the unfriendly service. But in the future, I will ensure that I am sitting in a section with some of the more friendly, familiar faces that I have come to enjoy here. Yeesh. read more

I've only tried another broken egg recently. I have attempted this place on a Saturday morning a couple times and there was always a long wait time. So my two visits were during the week mid morning. On the first visit, we tried the broken egg biscuit sandwich, city grits, shrimp and grits, fruit, potatoes, and a pitcher of the orange mimosas. All the food was good, mimosas were on point, service was great. We also got a free order of biscuit beignets since it was our first visit. After such a good experience, I went back a few weeks later and met a friend for birthday breakfast. Our server, Thomas overheard us mention it was my friend's birthday and he immediately brought out complimentary birthday breakfast beignets. We ordered the Mardi Gras omelette and the lobster & Brie omelette with a pitcher of orange mimosas. Neither of us cared for the lobster & Brie omelette. We let Thomas know and he immediately got us something else ordered. The city grits and breakfast potatoes are so good. The potatoes are seasoned to perfection. This was my first time eating here and with my friend putting us on the Yelp waitlists before arriving, we didn't have to wait long to be seated after arriving in. The restaurant is very clean and organized and I see why they're busy because the food was good. I ended up getting the biscuit and gravy with scramble eggs, sausage and country potatoes. I enjoy this restaurant. They had a waitlist available online so I registered before heading to the restaurant. Upon arrival we checked in with the hostess. We waited a bit and got called back to a table. I've had several different entrees here but the constant is the beignets, always a good choice. They also have good mimosas, although they are super expensive in my opinion. $11 for a VERY small glass. Like... small. So I usually skip the mimosa. Coffee is usually good and they have flavored creamers to go in it which I appreciate. I've been getting the "Hey Lucy" omelette the last few times and it's delish. I like to sub a biscuit for the English muffin and get a side of potatoes with it. I leave very full! Bacon came out with waffle covered in grease so had to go to bathroom get paper towel to blot off the excess so much and server not around to get napkins. Was overcharged for omelette and grits. So all in all bad visit. If you can't cook eggs properly I suggest changing name of restaurant from something with the egg name in it. Boiled eggs on ham and muffin not a Benedict. I did not realize that Another Broken Egg is a chain of restaurants, until my friend told me that she had eaten at the one in Huntsville. But for a chain restaurant, I was super impressed. Before I went, I was a little worried about parking but I easily found a place across the street. My friend and I met around 9 am on a weekday. There wasn't a wait and we were served immediately. I ordered the Belgian Waffle with a side of bacon. It was interesting because on their belgian waffle, I had to ask for strawberries and they used powdered sugar instead of whipped cream. My friend ordered the cinnamon roll french toast which she said tasted just like a cinnamon roll. It is topped with cream cheese icing, foster sauce, mixed berries and whipped. If you are looking for a healthy option, they also have a salmon power bowl, granola, fruit and quinoa, fruit and yogurt as well as steel cut oats. read more

Holy cow. I had heard Another Broken Egg was good, but i had no idea what I had been missing out on all this time until this past weekend. My parents came to town for the holiday and recommended Another Broken Egg to me because they have one near their home out of state. The waitlist was about 20 minutes long, but I was able to place our name on the waitlist through the handy dandy Yelp app :) We were assigned a time to check in with the hostess and once we checked in, we were seated within 2 minutes. They also have free coffee while you wait! We were seated in a booth and our waiter introduced himself promptly. I ordered the Floridian, which is a cream cheese-filled omelet with crab and chives on top accompanied by an English muffin and city grits (grits with gouda, onions, bacon, chives, and diced tomatoes on top). Every bite was delectable. I couldn't help but say "mmmm!" with every bite. I even had a bit of a cold, but i could taste the flavors through my congestion because they were so bold. And they don't skimp with the crab either - there was a healthy portion on top! I also tried a bite of my dad's lobster and brie omelet and it was phenomenal as well, I'll probably have to get that next time! All in all, this place knocked my socks off. Brunch food is the best kind of food. But this means that there are millions of people trying to do it right, few do. ABE does it RIGHT!!! I am a diehard bacquezo omelet fan as in thats all I have ordered for the last two years. It's this huge omelette filled with cream cheese and topped with chorizo and cheese. You will not go wrong with this one. BUT, I hang out with some really great people who let me try their food. Out of everything I've tried there's only one item I was not impressed with, their cinnamon rolls. My hope is that they see this and do their due diligence to upgrade their current recipe (I'll be waiting patiently!). Back to the good stuff. Number one, their sweet tea is to die for. No joke, get it, it's not too sweet and is perfect with their omelets for a sweet/salty balance. Even if you're not an app fan you HAVE to get a half order of their biscuit beignets with orange marmalade. I'm drooling just thinking about them. They also have this super amazing salmon power bowl that is unlike anything I've ever seen! It's superfood heaven and piled high with all sorts of veggie goodies.
