Of course, this wasn't my first time here but I did try some new things off of their seasonal menu. For our drink we decided to try a picture of the apple pie mimosa. It was a tangy but sweet drink that we finished with our meals. I ordered the Apple Crunch French Toast and my bf ordered the Abe Hot Chicken and Biscuits. Both meals were delicious but the French toast was amazing! I'm currently trying to find a recipe to replicate it. Everything complemented each other so well. My server was very helpful and sweet. I was brought out the wrong meal and she made sure that I was brought the correct one and that we were well taken care of. I was in the area and decided to stop by for pancakes and their lunch duo with fried chicken salad and jambalaya. The pancakes were good, fried chicken salad was nothing special, jambalaya was a pool of oil (the oil was covered by the egg). My server Stacy was sweet, however, she was inattentive, made no table touches, was more concerned about if she was closing today. My issue could have been resolved long before it was if she had checked in. There were tables and floors that needed attention. A server almost slipped on a butter packet that was dropped by a previous server who just left it. Salt and pepper grinders need to be wiped. The server waiting tables directly across from me (black young lady with a long braided ponytail) was great though. I witnessed her constantly check in with her tables, she was personable, smiling, quick on her feet. A couple of people who she checked out complimented her service as well. Should you go here? The food was delicious. I had steak in potatoes. That was very nice on the pallet. The s'more mimosas were top tier for the season. I went in January and I'm just now dropping the. Review, but it's okay. The service was amazing. My server was very attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu, and she pointed me in the right direction on where and what I should eat to complimented my s'more mimosa. The food itself was almost perfect. I got the shrimp Benedict which was awesome and a great portion, the side of fruit was lovely except the blueberries were at the bottom so they came squished. I also got their new winter berry spritz which was nice but it took about 15 minutes to get to me after my friends had already gotten all their drinks. Annoying, but it tasted good so that's what matters to me. The host was friendly and our server Amber was an absolute delight. She made us feel incredibly welcome and is hilarious, absolutely no complaints. The one thing that really got to me was when we had to ask for silverware set ups after our food was delivered (again annoying, but really not a huge issue), the black linen had SO much lint on it I did not want to use it and the silverware had water spots all over, was clearly not polished. Just that silverware made me want to write this review because I almost asked for new ones which I've never done before. Please train your staff to polish silverware and use clean linens. If they come back from the cleaners with that much lint, either use white linens or use a different cleaning company. Will probably be coming back because the food is amazing and the service was lovely, but I hope that next time the silverware roll ups are appropriate to hand out to guests. read more

He got a bloody Mary that he really liked I got an apple mimosa that was delicious. I got the eggs Benedict. Not sure if I would get them again. The ham was very thick but other than that, it was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were a little dry, but I got a ranch on the side. I've been coming here for years and I've never had a bad experience. It's kind of hidden and if you're not familiar with it, you probably would never go. Had an overall okay experience -- it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. It was half empty when we went for brunch, but our waitress was awfully slow and we sat there waiting for a bit to order. She also wasn't friendly either. My water glass came with food stains so I asked for a new water, but the waitress didn't take the old glass with the stain away. The food was alright -- the hash brown benedict was too salty, but I did appreciate how crispy it was. The poached eggs were very dense in texture and had no flavor. The side potatoes weren't even remotely warm, just cold. The soft shell scrambler was alright, nothing special. The apricot streusel pancakes were insanely sweet, and the eggs and sausage that came with it were also cold. Given our experience, we're not too inclined to come back. Maybe it was because it was a slower day that the quality of the food wasn't that great, but also it was a Friday afternoon. I've always been more tough on brunch spots as they've tended to have identical menus to each other or didn't feel worth the money ordering things I could make at home, but the current seasonal menu is perfection!! The salted caramel cold brew will surely make any coffee lover happy- the salt rim is so so good with the sweet and smooth cold brew. The soft shell crab omelette (sans andouille) was very fresh and tender, not heavy at all even with the fried coating. The apricot streusel pancakes were the BIGGEST surprise to me. I am not one for sweeter breakfast options and almost always opt for or favor savory items, but these were too good. I couldn't stop eating them!! One thing though, @waiters/waitresses, we can see you clear as day laughing at and pointing at customers through the glass windows from the outdoor seating; not a good look. Sunday Brunch here was a quasi New Orleans experience!! Not only was there a broken egg, but the whole idea about omelettes was broken. Omelette taken to a new level! I ordered the Mardi Gras omelette, City Grits, and one pancake. They threw in everything except the Mardi Gras beads. I love me a good brunch! and I must say Another Broken Egg is sooo tasty. But unfortunately, for my first visit to the Birmingham location I wasn't too pleased. I waited about 8 minutes before anyone showed up to the counter to seat me. 3-4 employees walked by me without saying anything. 1 employee did say "someone will be right with you." And they were about 3 minutes later. The Resturant was not busy at all. I arrived at around 1135 on a Monday, about 5 tables had customers. To include the high table bar area. 4 tables that I could count were dirty, food still on the table, and the floors were dirty. The staff had a friendly smile, maybe just short handed today, not sure. Now, I selected "maybe" as a recommendation solely on the fact that the food is good, and their Lemon Blueberry mimosa is absolutely delicious. So, if you're ok with an unnecessary wait, a few crumbs on the floor, a family environment, which means there will be children. I say yes! Check this place out. Your taste buds will thank you. AFTER RECEIVING MY MEAL: 1 star. My food was cold, as if it had been sitting. I waited 20 mins for my food. Received my food and my order was wrong. I had the chicken sandwich which looked like I was given the remnants of the tenders no hold pieces the bacon was left off no ranch with very ripe avocados and lettuce once my husband's order was corrected (another long story) his pancakes were warm & dry our daughter had the Madi gras omelette and she said it was aight! Another Broken Egg Cafe is one of my favorite brunch spots. I only come about four times a year, but they never disappoint. I have learned to use the waitlist feature to cut down on the wait time because they usually have a long time whenever I come. I ordered my usual, a smoked salmon benedict with an extra helping of smoked salmon and I like my poached eggs cooked for one minute longer than usual, just until the yolks are slightly jellied. I also had the breakfast potatoes and coffee. They have some of the best coffee not served in a coffee specialty shop. The waitress was nice and prompt and the atmosphere was great as usual, just normal brunch chatter. If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend it. read more

This is a cute little restaurant in Mountain Brook that serves breakfast. I believe they only serve breakfast options which is why I was a little disappointed when the food tasted subpar. I ordered pancakes with a side of eggs, bacon, and grits. My favorite part of the meal were the grits because the bacon was too crunchy and the pancakes were bland, over cooked, and too doughy. I went to a brunch place in mountainbrook/homewood area called Another broken egg this past weekend. Usually at brunch places during the weekend it does get pretty busy and the wait to be seated it always long. I am glad that this place had an online waitlist where you could join it and just check in at the front and depending on the line you'll get seating. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated which was not too horrible for it being a Saturday and for it being valentines day. The waiter was quick and the staff was very nice and welcoming. There was a lot of room to sit, outside and inside and there was also a bar area where you could get served. Their menu was really big and had many drink options and they also had mocktails and cocktails you could choose from. We ordered and the waiter was very sweet and explained the menu to us. We waited around 10 minutes for our food but it came out pretty quickly. The food was fresh and hot and amazing. The whole restaurant was very clean and was just a good vibe overall.
