    Apple Pie Mimosa

Of course, this wasn't my first time here but I did try some new things off of their seasonal menu. For our drink we decided to try a picture of the apple pie mimosa. It was a tangy but sweet drink that we finished with our meals. I ordered the Apple Crunch French Toast and my bf ordered the Abe Hot Chicken and Biscuits. Both meals were delicious but the French toast was amazing! I'm currently trying to find a recipe to replicate it. Everything complemented each other so well. My server was very helpful and sweet. I was brought out the wrong meal and she made sure that I was brought the correct one and that we were well taken care of. It surprisingly wasn't that busy when we went but it's usually flowing with people. It was perfect for a brunch date. Will return!

Amazing service, drinks and food. Best cheese grits I've ever had. Menu selection was vast and server's knowledge was most appreciated.

First time here and did not disappoint! Brunch was absolutely delicious! Very clean and our server Kate was so sweet. We had Abe Cyclone's to drink and I had the lobster and Brie omelette and my friend had the apple fritter French toast. Both cooked to perfection and are highly recommended. And the loaded grits made with Gouda, bacon and green onion were AMAZING!!! Will be back to try more!!

Love this place! The service was really good and everything came out fast. My only complaints were that the potatoes didn't taste fresh and the gumbo had a slight fishy taste. Other than that, everything else was great and I would still come back!

Another Broken Egg is a place I constantly forget about because I just don't see them often anymore. I was in the area and decided to stop by for pancakes and their lunch duo with fried chicken salad and jambalaya. The pancakes were good, fried chicken salad was nothing special, jambalaya was a pool of oil (the oil was covered by the egg). My server Stacy was sweet, however, she was inattentive, made no table touches, was more concerned about if she was closing today. My issue could have been resolved long before it was if she had checked in. There were tables and floors that needed attention. A server almost slipped on a butter packet that was dropped by a previous server who just left it. Salt and pepper grinders need to be wiped. The server waiting tables directly across from me (black young lady with a long braided ponytail) was great though. I witnessed her constantly check in with her tables, she was personable, smiling, quick on her feet. A couple of people who she checked out complimented her service as well. Should you go here? Maybe. Everyone else appeared to enjoy their visits.

The shrimp n grits is definitely my go to at ABE! My group and I were able to be seated quickly early on a Saturday morning. Our server wasn't good but everything else was. Not my favorite brunch spot anymore but still a good pick.

Our server today was Alex. He was very attentive and also suggested entrées to us. My brunch date had never been here before, but he was very impressed with the shrimp and grits. He got a bloody Mary that he really liked I got an apple mimosa that was delicious. I got the eggs Benedict. Not sure if I would get them again. The ham was very thick but other than that, it was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were a little dry, but I got a ranch on the side. I've been coming here for years and I've never had a bad experience. It's kind of hidden and if you're not familiar with it, you probably would never go. But I encourage you to try out this brunch place. It's so delicious.

For French toast with side of fruits and grits - there two sides were substitutes to meat options

Excellent food and service Love this place - best thing is to get on wait list Their coffee is amazing - they even have a decaf option

Had an overall okay experience -- it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. It was half empty when we went for brunch, but our waitress was awfully slow and we sat there waiting for a bit to order. She also wasn't friendly either. My water glass came with food stains so I asked for a new water, but the waitress didn't take the old glass with the stain away. The food was alright -- the hash brown benedict was too salty, but I did appreciate how crispy it was. The poached eggs were very dense in texture and had no flavor. The side potatoes weren't even remotely warm, just cold. The soft shell scrambler was alright, nothing special. The apricot streusel pancakes were insanely sweet, and the eggs and sausage that came with it were also cold. Given our experience, we're not too inclined to come back. Maybe it was because it was a slower day that the quality of the food wasn't that great, but also it was a Friday afternoon. This place wasn't the worst, but I feel like there are better brunch places around.

Excellent morning cocktails and rotating seasonal menu make this one of our favorite brunch spots in Birmingham!

Carmel iced coffee. We ordered two. They were two different colors, but good.

Today was a bit of an off day. Hubby ordered lobster has with hollandaise. The roasted tomato sauce was just okay. Really soupy and heavy mushroom in the hash. The potatoes were mushy. My chicken and waffles was as expected. The coffee was good, and the server worked to try to compensate the food quality being off.

I went on a Saturday morning when they first opened. It's a fantastic location; the staff offers excellent suggestions. The omelet is very light and delicious, and it is cooked fresh. The building has very good natural lighting. Please stop by and see the staff soon to try the coffee. This was a good visit.

Tiramisu French Toast, very solid seasonal dish! Get it while it last!

The foam was absolutely beautiful in the cup... not quite as beautiful once my straw made contact and it jumped onto my white shirt. We had a moment. Still worth it. I also had one of their cheese danishes, and let me just say... the best I've ever had. Light, flaky, buttery, with just the right touch of sweetness and powdered sugar. It didn't stand a chance. Danny and Green were amazing and provided such friendly, welcoming service. Truly delightful humans. I also love the concept of a coffee shop by morning and cocktail lounge by night. I was excited to try the baklava as they looked beautiful. However, while the flavor was very good, the texture was all wrong. I tried the iced Aden latte (espresso, milk, pistachio and lavender) and it's the best coffee off of lakeshore. None of the flavors were overpowering the others. I also ordered a biscoff crepe and a sabaya. The sabaya was flaky and crispy, smothered in delicious honey. It wasn't the thickest sabaya but I enjoyed it! The biscoff crepe was so decadent. Coffee snobs, look no further. Your search is over. Go here now…read more I had the privilege of staying in Birmingham nearby this place and checked it out after looking at the photos. And I'd love to qualify this five-star review by saying I've been traveling the United States for over 10 years and I've been to countless coffee shops from Alaska to Boston to Florida to San Diego and everything in between. I can easily say this has been a top 10 experience and if you're in Birmingham you are very fortunate that this place is here. I had a hot vanilla latte and one of the finest pastries of all time but I'm not reviewing the pastries. Both days I went in here there were two different baristas some quiet dude and then some alternative tattoo girl both of them made an absolutely exceptional hot latte. Everything I look for is here: The espresso itself is a medium-dark profile with dark chocolate, toasted almond, and brown-sugar sweetness, low bitterness, and a rounded, low-acid finish that holds its shape in milk instead of washing out. The vanilla stays clean and floral on top of that, while the milk is steamed to glossy microfoam that integrates with the shot, leaving a silky body and a long caramel-cocoa aftertaste. Perfection. Some of the best in the USA. Hats off to you.

I'm diabetic so I don't use sugar and truvia is just nasty. It tastes horrible and makes your drink taste horrible. Now mind you they will use all kinds of syrups with dyes and additives and sugars but nope not Splenda. That's bad for you. The 50 grams of sugar in a single vanilla latte is totally fine. We're ok with that even though that alone is over the recommended amount. But Splenda no we can't allow that. Will never be back.
