This was my first time at this location, and as a newer transplant to Birmingham, I truly appreciated getting to experience such a cool spot. The decor is so fun. The hanging clouds, the purple mirror near the restrooms, the green stools... it all feels playful and inviting. And the fresh, dainty flowers at each table are such a beautiful touch. It's those little details that make the space feel extra special. I ordered the Iced Clouds Cold Foam with Vietnamese coffee. The foam was absolutely beautiful in the cup... not quite as beautiful once my straw made contact and it jumped onto my white shirt. We had a moment. Still worth it. I also had one of their cheese danishes, and let me just say... the best I've ever had. Light, flaky, buttery, with just the right touch of sweetness and powdered sugar. It didn't stand a chance. Danny and Green were amazing and provided such friendly, welcoming service. Truly delightful humans. I also love the concept of a coffee shop by morning and cocktail lounge by night. This is one of the few places I've been to that matches perfectly the level of trendiness / uniqueness with quality of drinks. The interior is cute and fun, the service is great, but the drinks are also way above average. Vietnamese coffee is to die for and it's so good here. I also got a matcha and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm a big matcha drinker and have NEVER had a good matcha at a cafe until I tried it here. I didn't know the latte was sweetened by default, so that would be my only change next time. Definitely will be coming back! read more

Well alright Birmingham, we finally have a legit Vietnamese coffee option downtown. Love that for us. This place is bright and vivid and has plenty of seating, a quick and friendly crew, and all the things you need to make your coffee dreams come true. Get down here. Get caffeinated. You owe it to yourself. I went a little nuts and tried more than one beverage. I can therefore vouch for the deliciousness of both the Vietnamese coffee and for the quality of the macchiato. Both were great! I get the sense that they're paying close attention to what they're doing and that you can expect your beverage to be solid no matter what you get. In addition to all this, it is my understanding that in the evenings the place converts to a bar. Very interesting stuff. I'll have to stop back in and see about that but for now the coffee alone is reason enough for a return visit. Overall a nice spot worth trying, so you should try it! read more

I walked in and immediately thought: "ohhhh this is the new IT coffee shop." I came on a Wednesday afternoon and the tables were nearly full with people working, on laptops, etc. You order right by the front door, which was a little crowded but not bad. The bar is gorgeous, with tons of seating for people working solo. I ordered the salted cold foam iced coffee... delicious. The perfect amount of salty, sweet, coffee bitter. Lots of people were ordering the matcha with ube cold foam, which I regret not getting just because that green and purple is stunning. I believe that the specialty here are Vietnamese coffees. There's some couch seating available, disco balls hanging from the ceiling, a record player that looks like it works. Everything, EVERYTHING is pink. But oh so tasteful. Pink straws, pink napkins. There's a stage in the back, too. Can't wait to see what goes on there. DECOR! Ugh, the limewash walls and terrazzo tables are everything. Somebody here has taste. This is the closest I've felt to being in California in a Bham business. I can't wait to come here for the evening scene and taste some cocktails. Drink first, thoughts after... This is such a cute coffee shop! The atmosphere was definitely the highlight -- super spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and totally my style. The interior design felt cozy but modern, and it made for a really enjoyable hangout vibe. The drinks were good, but light ice is the way to go. $5-6 per drink. Happy Valentine's Day!! This was my 1st time at Pink Lantern- My book club had a social event here and this place is sooooooo cute! From the moment you walk in you're hit with the cute pink decor and fabulous bar and seating all around. I got the matcha with strawberry cold foam and it was absolutely delicious. It almost tasted like a milkshake . There were two people working and though there were several people in line they got the beverages out in good time. They had an area set up leading to the restroom that was great for picture taking. I love the retro pieces throughout the place like the old school telephone, tv and record player. The cutest, girliest coffee spot! The Pink Lantern is even more adorable in person. I got their Vietnamese coffee with Ube cold foam and it was divine. Most all of the seats were filled with folks working or hanging out but it didn't feel too crowded because it's such a large space. PARKING IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR compared to normal downtown parking!!! There's a lot behind the building. No street or parallel parking. Had book club here with some girlfriends and we all loved the place as soon as we entered. It's beautifully decorated, spacious, and offers plenty of lighting. They don't really serve food, but have some snack options and have a good truck outside. The main attraction besides the decor are their amazing drinks. I tried the Dragon Garden and the Happy Ending which were both fabulous drinks, that even my friends ordered one. I also enjoyed their play on words for their drinks. Very creative and fun. We went after work on a Friday so the place wasn't too packed. Our server was absolutely one of the best. She was very attentive and interactive. We found out Friday and Saturday they have Drag Shows starting at 9pm. We weren't able to stay but will definitely be dropping by again to catch it! The only concern was when we received our tickets. They offer an happy hour and we were there for the happy hour but our drinks didn't seem to match the happy hour price and we did notice that it was extra fees on there, but did not see where it was advertised that they charged gratitude so that was kind of a red flag. Other than that though we definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be returning. read more

Pink Lantern has quickly become the talk of the town! I went a week after they opened and could've easily mistaken it for being opening day. I'm impressed and excited for the owners behind this lovely establishment, and I wish them ongoing success. The interior here is so beautifully decorated. So cozy and inviting, filled with pink! This was my first time trying Vietnamese coffee, and I loved it! My only complaint is that my coffee was only full. From the looks of it, everyone else who ordered the Viet Coffee was the same amount. I needed every sip I could get, so I hope that next time they fill it all the way. Recently tried Pink Lantern and it's absolutely cutesy in the best way. We came specifically to try the matcha and ended up staying much longer. I had the pandan matcha latte with oat milk and my friend tried the ube--both were very tasty and well balanced. We also shared a sausage croissant and a strawberry croissant, and the sausage croissant was especially good. When we first arrived around 2 PM it was super packed and lively, but by the time we ordered we were able to snag seats at the bar. We stayed until 4 when the cocktail bar opened and tried the Pearl of the Orient--highly recommend if you like a strong drink that leans sweet. I loved that we got to experience both the coffee shop and cocktail sides during one visit. Definitely would go back to try more drinks and food. read more

Listen I love trying new coffee shops around city so when I heard about a PINK coffee shop with Vietnamese coffee I knew I had to give it a try. First of all, the inside of the shop is so cute! There is a bar as well which is so dope to me. The first time I went, I got an iced Matcha latte with Ube cold foam. I loved this drink but to be fair I like matcha! It's not for everyone though. The second drink was just a vanilla honey iced latte with cold foam. It was just okay. When I came back the 3rd time I definitely got the matcha again. Great coffee and a fun atmosphere! My only complaint is that the bathrooms are gender neutral but not private. There is a urinal and toilet stall which made me very uncomfortable. I'm all for private gender neutral bathrooms but I would not feel comfortable with a man in the stall right next to me. Took over 30min to make us our 2 coffees though secondary to the crowd. They need larger machines or more workers. No one should have to wait that long for a couple cups of coffee. Then when I went to get the coffee after my name was said, my wife noticed that it was a coffee that was sitting there for over 20mins. Additionally, there were spill marks all over it and it wasn't full when I received it so I requested them to remake it.
