This place has always been a favorite of mine since I was a child, and it still is up to this day. Beautiful decor inside with a cozy atmosphere, and lovely staff to top it off. Food is just average. Not really hot for brunch. For service, it took exactly 28 minutes to get our food. That is unacceptable. For Breakfast food, really!‍It is clear to me that ABE kitchen can not get the food out on Sunday mornings. BTW: during our wait for a table, one customer came to the cashier and said just give me my check, I cannot get a waiter. She said the waiter had too many tables for the outside area. This used to be my favorite breakfast of bananas foster waffles, but they have decreased size of the former plate sized stack, and limited banana to a few slices. Not up to the hype if you ask me. The food is good but nothing special compared to other brush and breakfast places but it's convenient and fast for sure. The Eggs Blackstone Benedict had a slightly sweet hollandaise and the Chicken and Waffles had a delicious syrup that was sweet and chipotle but the chicken was super dry. The Floridian omelette is a really rich and creamy egg dish which I liked a lot but I couldn't eat the whole thing because it was sooooo creamy. My mood was ruined by the 10 flies swarming around me too. Maybe if they could have done something about that I wouldn't have been so annoyed. read more

It's an old favorite at Destin. Newer location. Can get healthy breakfast. I'm probably going to have to have a second breakfast after while because I ate smoked salmon and advocato toast for about half the calories I usually eat at breakfast. Reminds me of how I need to go on a lower calorie diet. Very good food and good service. Of course you are paying a lot more than the Waffle House or a fast food restaurant. Service was good and food just ok during my recent visit. I went with 8 of my girlfriends for brunch and we ordered a variety of drinks and food. The peach Bellinis are still my favorite thing here. They are sweet but not too sweet and not to peachy (b/c they use a fresh nectar instead of a mix like other places). Just delicious!! This trip I ordered the Egg Benedict as usual but got the Blackstone benedict instead, which includes grilled tomatoes and chopped bacon. I loved the tomato addition but prefer the ham over the chopped bacon (and I really love bacon but...). One of my eggs was poached perfectly the other was a boiled egg (I didn't have to cut into it to see that so this was a mistake of not only the chef but also the person checking quality before the plates go out). They asked if I wanted another...umm yes I do. So I did receive a second egg and it was poached correctly. Other issues we had during our visit: Special requests made during the ordering were not received unless ordered again (just 3 or 4 small things but when you see several people at the same table having to request again it appears to be a breakdown between server and kitchen). Some of the drinks were just too sweet (there is a blackberry cocktail that no one was a fan of due to sweetness). All in all this is still a spot we enjoy but I do think on the next trip to town we will try somewhere new at least once. read more

This is my favorite go to when visiting family. The food is wonderful! The service is as well. Every time we go I try something new on the menu, never disappointed. The go to every time is the city grits. If you think you don't like grits, these will change your mind. read more

If you have a gluten or dairy sensitivity DO NOT COME HERE. They obviously don't care. My daughter is GF/Dairy free. We made sure to stress this to the waitress. She was served an English muffin first, then when we finally got the gf toast it had butter on it. The waitress assured us it was not but several others tasted it and it was butter. You'd think they'd be more careful. Not only that but we got here at 10:30, didn't get served until 12:05, everything had been sitting under the heater and was completely dried out. Waitress didn't know the menu at all. Then, the credit card machine was down. They expected us to pay $126 bill with cash. Do not recommend at all. read more

It had great breakfast food. My kids were "starving" so our waitress was kind enough to bring out some toast prior to the rest of our food. I had the Belgium waffle and it was so light & yummy. Andouille sausage was flavorful but slightly charred. We also had pancakes which were a big hit at the table. Bacon was bacon which equals amazing!! House coffee was functional. It was sanitized between customers and tables were spread out. The staff was polite. I'd recommend dining there as well as using the waitlist via Yelp. read more

After reading many great reviews about this place, we were really excited about trying it out. So we tried to brush it off.. but again, every time she came back to the table, she seemed annoyed. Ordered 3 kids pancakes meals (be advised that the portions are really small and all 3 kids were still hungry after finishing their meals..we had been traveling all night). Our food was good. Ordered omelettes and were fulfilling and very good. Overall, the service we received kind of ruined our experience. Five star gluten free pancakes that my daughter say are the best from anywhere. Two or three stars for the really greasy omelets with cream cheese in them. Who thinks that is a good idea? Cream cheese goes in a lot of things well. Not omelets!
