Last Sunday we went with a group of 4 of our friends to this location. When we entered this establishment, the hostess said to sit wherever we wanted. When we sat at a booth the waitress said to us we aren't supposed to sit there. So we moved to another booth. We waited for over 45min for someone to get our drink order. We are normally really understanding if the location is busy but we were the only people there. I overheard one of the waitresses telling the hostess that she wasn't going to take care of those "dirty motherfuckers". Myself and several of my friends heard her say this and wondered why in the world she would say that. I realized that 2 of our friends had their scrubs on because they are nurses and where headed to work after breakfast. Embarrassed for them, I spoke to the manager and the manager stated to us that we have to understand that we are in a pandemic and coming out to eat in scrubs does appear dirty to other patrons. She then suggested that we go eat outside. I told her we are already sitting and didn't want to move all of our drinks. I told the manager at that point that we no longer wanted to eat here so we will pay for the drinks but to cancel the food and we will go somewhere else. She agreed that we should go for the safety of everyone else and suggested we be more considerate. When I got home I realized the establishment had charged my card for all of the food we hadn't received. When I called them I spoke to the same manager and she said that we will have to dispute it with our card company because she can't credit it back she then hung up and didn't offer a reason why. The disdain that this establishment has for healthcare providers is very very obvious and disgusting read more

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile and today seemed like a good day....now I wish we would have waited, maybe another would have brought a better experience. First we arrived and we were told a 30 minutes wait, ok no problem. But after almost a hour I went to see where we were on the list only to be told "oh our system had been malfunctioning and names have dropped off the list". You have got to be kidding me.....do you think they made an announcement or anything making guests aware of this and if they had waited past their told time to at least check in to see if their name was one of the names dropped....NOPE they sure didn't. So I was told I would be next. While standing there I caught the manager and politely explained my frustration. He literally seemed to care less, but did say "well the rest of your experience here will be great". But unfortunately it wasn't...my husbands food came out cold and had to be sent back and when he finished his cup of coffee he was met with a full mouth of coffee grounds. At one point the manager who I spoke to before we were seated was about to walk by our table, looked directly at our table and literally went out of his way to avoid us...WTF. So NOPE would not recommend this place. Funny thing is, I decided to read other reviews to see what other issues they have. They pretty much seem to be all the same type of issues AND reviews from over a year ago where their system "drops peoples names". Doesn't seem like they care to change or get things right. And when they comment with a apology they say the same thing over and over consecutively....they don't care! read more

The service was rough....server told us a cook did not show up and she was doing 3 jobs...she was kind.... food was excellent!!

I 100% recommend for people to come here. But it's just a bit crowded. But the food is delicious!!!

We came here as first time visitors for breakfast on Christmas Eve. Now normally I tend to play it safe with breakfast and order things like pancakes, eggs, or bacon, but since it was a holiday I decided to walk on the wild side and order the baquezo omelette with the potatoes on the side. The omelette had bacon, garlic butter, chorizo sausage, cream cheese, green onions, and Monterey Jack cheese. Now as far as I'm concerned, cream cheese has no place in an omelette. But after asking our server (who was lovely by the way) she assured me that I'd like it and so I decided to go for it. So for about 15-20 nail biting minutes, I sat waiting... wondering if I had made the right decision.... or if I'd played Russian roulette and lost, only to end up spending my Christmas Eve with a bottle of pepto Bismol, curled in fetal position. But the omelette was wonderful- the cream cheese was not overdone and it was delicious! It reminded me of a dollop of sour cream being put atop a taco- it just..."belonged", and it played nicely with the spice of the chorizo sausage. I also tried a sip of my friends strawberry st. Germaine mimosa, and it was delicious. The elderberry flower liqueur played second fiddle to the strawberry flavor and it made for a smooth, well rounded concoction. My classic OJ mimosa was also tasty- not "weak" or watered down in the least. All of my other friends and family were happy with their dishes as well. My dad had shrimp and grits and he finished off the entire dish (he is the "grits whisperer" in our family, and so his approval speaks volumes). I also tasted the city grits and they were wonderful- very creamy and buttery. The seasoned potatoes were tasty as well. Both my siblings and my mom ordered the cinnamon French toast and they seemed pleased as well. If I could give a tip for coming here, I'd warn about the size of the restaurant- it's quite small. And so if you have a larger party (we had nine), I'd suggest to come early (we came around 7:30-7:45 and had no problem being quickly seated).otherwise, be prepared to wait. In summation, I will definitely return to the Broken egg. All in all, good food and good service.... it's a winner. read more

Had been waiting to try this place because I love breakfast! Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff as expected when newly opened. Food had some very very highs and lows in particular the sausage overdone wasn't sure it was sausage, tasted a little like hamburger meat! But, everything else especially the the grits were so so good! Actually way better than mine and I was taught by the best, my mom! Please give them a try I think they're worth it! In less than one month this place has gone from four stars to two. Who ever was cooking, sucks. The English muffin was rock hard. The Beignets were over cooked. My omelet was a mess. The service though was very good. read more

Such great service, it feels very small town friendly because everyone is so nice. The food is great but customer service goes a long way.

Horrible experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe. We checked in at 9:30am, told 25-30min wait. About 40 minutes later I check with the hosts(who was wearing her mask half way and would pull it off when talking), told ten more minutes...15minutes later checked again and was told we were second should be about 10 more minutes...10minutes later checked in and told 10 more minutes... at this point I am irate, was told by a manager that people who check in on Yelp are put in front of those who have checked in person and that's why we kept getting bumped..... she explained that's how it works and she's sorry... so someone could come in 1hr after others have been waiting, check in on Yelp and be put ahead of others that were there already...kinda a flawed system to me... just beware if you go there...i will not be back... oh they sent us a text at 10:57 saying our table is ready, we were already seated at another restaurant eating... so 30min wait would have been 1.5hrs....lol read more

Made a reservation for an indoor table before we got on the road. The restaurant was 45 minutes away from the house, we were told it would be about an hour and fifteen Minuit wait. We got there about an hour later expecting a 20-25 Minuit wait which was confirmed when we checked in. 25 minutes later we walked back in and was told our table was being cleaned and it would be about 10 minutes. We walked back in 10 minutes later and was told by a rude 2nd person it was gonna be another 20-25 minute wait. Very frustrated we walked back out and waited about 20 minutes when we got a text saying our table was ready! We walked in and the 2nd rude lady says she has to clean the table, and walks to an OUTSIDE table to try and seat us. I told her I reserved an inside table and wanted tht. She said my reservation said first available and tried to say it would be another long wait before an inside table would be available. The manager over heard this and comes and talks to me saying that their system had been glitching and it was probably an error. Again me being frustrated I said that if their system was messing up then his hostess shouldn't be so rude about it. She began to make a scene in the front waiting lobby and the manager sat us at a clean not being used inside table tht very second. Worst experience of my life just trying to go get a nice relaxing breakfast. I don't suggest this place to any body not even my worst enemy. Rude service long waits and glitching systems. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I checked in online so the wait time was cut in half by the time we got there. Which was great since there was quite a few people waiting when we arrived. The staff was wonderful and friendly. With all the reviews and the people waiting I figured we'd be in for something good. Rarely have I ever taken two bites and couldn't eat the rest. Ordered the southwest scrambler, sounded delish... but what I got was inedible. I'm not sure if the salsa they used was too watery but I felt like I was eating a mush of goo with no flavor. The side order of grits saved the day and got something in my tummy. My other half ordered the banana foster French toast which he enjoyed. With his dish he got a side of two eggs prepared how he liked and choice of meat. I tried to eat his scrambled eggs and bacon but it just tasted like egg beaters to me. Maybe the sweeter menus options are the way to go but if your looking for real food or healthier options I'd go elsewhere. read more

This is the spot for those staying at the hotels in the area. Not sure if it's because of the busy crowds on a saturday morning, but the service was lacking and food took forever. When it finally arrived, it was luke warm. I wasn't a fan of the style of the omelet. I prefer a more traditional, diner style but these are the type that are over fluffed. They can keep the customers with bigger parties that are required to sit outside from having to run with therie food if it rains. i was charged 31.51 tip because it was 10 of us with the kids. The food is fine. Service is absolutely terrible. Came by before a work meeting on a Friday morning at 730 with about 40 minutes total to order and eat before I had to head out. I waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes and no one came to seat me. It wasn't incredibly busy, the resteraunt was about half full. I decided to seat myself at the bar. Found this on yelp when looking for a good breakfast joint. This place did not disappoint! Maureen the server did a bang up job taking care of the kids and getting them taken care of quick with something to eat. The bloody Mary's were great. The specialty pancakes were really good and we added them on to our omelette order. The only thing that held it back was the "country potato's", improve those and I would not be able to find a fault. Eggs were perfect. The bagel was from a frozen bag, it wasn't tasteful enough The potatoes also were from a frozen bag. Too much air, no flavor, not home made from scratch. They tasted old. We reserved a spot in line that claimed a 20-30 min wait. When we arrived the hostess said we were next to be seated indoors and it would be another 20-30 minute wait. Party of one - seated at 1:15, no food by 1:45. They hadn't even started cooking my dish. I wish I could say that this was an isolated incident; I have been there for brunch on the two other occasions. This was weekday lunch and the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. In past visits, I wrote it off as a bad day in the kitchen. Won't be back and definitely don't recommend it for weekday lunch. You'll need a leisurely day ahead of you. read more

Friendly service and lots of interesting options on the menu for brunch! I ordered the Southwest scramble which is an open face breakfast taco basically that you make on your own with two tortillas, avocado, and salsa on the side. The favorite dish at our table was the shrimp and grits! The dish was full of flavor-definitely would get next time. Adding a half order of beignets is also worth it, so if you find yourself questioning whether or not to do it, do it. It's $2.99 for 4. Also, there was a long wait on Sunday morning so I suggest adding yourself to the wait list on Yelp beforehand to save time. I docked one star because it wasn't out of this world brunch which I was anticipating based on the wait, but I would return and try other items for sure. read more

I love this place. Any day of the week, always a winner. Favorite is the black bean Benedict . I would buy the chipotle hollandaise sauce in a heartbeat if I could. You can't go wrong with the grits or potatoes as your side. If you've had a rough start to your morning they also have a full bar with great drinks. I lean towards a mango kiwi Mimosa or the tomatillo Bloody Mary. Service is always good and there are lots of friendly faces. The one time I ever had a very normal and minor problem the manager was very nice and stayed at the table to chat with a friend and I for a minute. Highly recommended. read more

Another Broken Egg Cafe - I ordered shrimp and grits and peach pancake. My husband order classic French toast, eggs and sausage. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

I had the The Floridian Omelette, it was super good. The omelette is a good size and you get an English muffin and a choice of grits or potatoes on the side, so it's a good portion. I chose the grits, they were a little plain, but nothing that a salt and pepper couldn't fix. My sister had the Tzatziki Tots and she was dissatisfied with them. The tots were overdone, they crumbled at touch and there was no potato inside, it was just crisp. However, our server refunded us for the meal and allowed her to pick out a different item of the menu. Overall, enjoyed the food & service and would visit again. read more

Our first visit to Another Broken Egg was delicious. We sat outside on the patio and our server, Kaitlin, was informative and helpful with our menu selections. We started with the beignets with honey marmalade and the were INCREDIBLE! We ordered a side of fried green tomatoes which we light, crispy, seasoned perfectly and served with a tasty dipping sauce. My hubby ordered a carnitas Benedict with jalapeño cornbread (Yummy) and I had the Hey Lucy omelet which also was fantastic. Generous portions, great flavor, friendly service, dog-friendly patio and we're looking forward to coming back. read more

This was my second time visiting this location and unfortunately another bad experience ‍ I first want to say I understand all the safety precautions and no way am I being insensitive to what is required of restaurants etc. during the pandemic. That being said, we walked in and were told party of 3 including my toddler that needed a high chair(requested) wait time 15-20mins. Well 20mins passed and walked back inside to see how much longer, was told not sure because of the limited seating but we were next. So we decided to wait. We were told nobody could wait inside because of the new restrictions yet at this time multiple people were standing inside and sitting on the bench waiting for their pick up orders. 40 mins was our whole wait time and we were told our table was ready. Walked inside and the hostess was polite and asked me if I needed a high chair for which I replied yes, but she had messed up and was going to sit us at a booth which they can not put a high chair at so I only had the option of a booster chair. Kinda said okay let's see how that goes, she apologized for the mistake and went to clean the table.... we walked to the table was sat and told they were behind on silverware but it's coming, no biggie but seriously there were a total of 5 tables with people inside. Limited seating, you would think they would be extremely proficient in details and service. The long wait, slow service and lack of accommodations...we just got up and left. I felt bad because the waitress was nice but we were not going to waste anymore time or our money on a bad experience. I would of had to hold my child the whole time until they could accommodate us to another table when someone from a table left My toddler was to small and young for a booster seat. I did not feel that they were at all organized or ready to accommodate guests under the new restrictions. When I left, 2 other parties left outside (they were still waiting) they literally said if y'all waited that long and left then things can't be good. I replied they do not have it together in there so we left. I wouldn't recommend this location and won't be back. Fooled me twice shame on me! Been to other locations and had great experiences. Their wait times are just never right and their service just isn't what you would expect. read more

Never liked this place, LONGGGG waits + SLOWWWW kitchen + SLOWWWW service = bad management. Even after you are seated it is a long wait for your food. We were in that side of town and my wife begged me to go there again. She reminded me that I liked their Mediterranean Potatoes which are made from fresh cut potato wedges seasoned with garlic oil, hot sauce, fresh herbs, and feta cheese. I ordered 2 eggs with bacon and the Mediterranean Potatoes. Guess what? They removed the Mediterranean Potato dish from the menu and now serve deep-fried canned, cubed potatoes instead. We call it a French fry. No flavor, just a French fry cube. On top of that, the Fried Cubes SUCKED. How ridiculous! My eggs came and they were tiny. As a bonus only two small slices of bacon are served. My wife had pancakes smothered in some syrupy fruit. Big deal. High prices for low quality food. This place is expensive. Cinnamon french toast with bacon $13.30. Two tiny eggs, two slices of bacon and their famous tasteless french fry cubes $10.00. Glass of OJ is at $4.00, Iced tea $2.80. The coffee SUCKED! How does a place like this stay open? I just don't get it. If you want to wait a LONG time for French fries, a little bacon and tiny eggs washed down with expensive OJ, this is your place. read more
