The Bloody Mary's here are to die for. They use pepper infused vodka that gives it that extra spicy flavor and their mix is delicious. I paired that up with a breakfast dish and it was hard to peel myself away. I will come back again next time I am close. read more

First time coming here there are some ups and downs to a very popular breakfast/brunch place such as here. To start off the hospitality is immaculate. Very welcoming, customer service is on point and very precise as to wait times. Though our wait wasn't very short by far if your smart and add yourself to the wait list on "yelp" it can pass a lot of time and get u ahead of the rush of people coming to enjoy the cuisine. We waited roughly 30 minutes after arriving for our seat (it was really busy around 1150-1230). Once seated we were greeted with a warming smile from our waitress Lakel who was knowledgeable of the menu and helpful in figuring out what to eat there was also a complimentary plate of beignets for being first timers. The food was definitely what i was hoping it would be. Very authentic and flavorful. The Mardi Gras Omelette included andouille and shrimp and unbeatable combo. The shrimp and grits had a nice kick of spice to it which made them irresistible by far. The City Grits are simple yet satisfying to be Gouda infused. All in all our experience here is worth a trip back. Especially to try the mimosa combos they have. read more

My 7-yr old niece gives this restaurant 51,000 stars! Great service, delicious food, and fun atmosphere.

Good food, awful service. I did call ahead seating through Yelp and got to the restaurant with plenty of time. I was told that I would be seated soon but 20 minutes and 3 tables later I was still waiting. When I asked the hostess, she checked the computer and told me it was "glitchy" and they lost my name. The f? I should also mention that at least 3 tables were open and un-bussed for at least 15 minutes. When I was finally seated, my waitress maybe checked on me once. It took foreverrrr just to get someone's attention and I placed my drink and food order at once. The food was decent, but the service was awful and rude. I won't return. read more

The good part: Pretty darn good good...unusual breakfast dishes make for a great change of pace. My wife and I both had southwest style breakfast plates and loved the flavors. The ugly part: The wait for a table on weekends is HORRIBLE! I suggest you do the "No Wait" app right here on Yelp, and wait in the comfort of your home. read more

First time here and the service was good. Food was very good. They actually give a lot food. I had the French toast and it can with eggs and hashbrown. They also give you free beignets which were really good. read more

Inedible. The eggs were almost raw. Sent them back and they were redone slightly less raw and still inedible. Meanwhile the sausage had hard gristle in it and had grown cold, same as the bread which was limp and had not been properly toasted. Sad waste of money and a brief breakfast treat entirely spoiled. Obvious lack of even rudimentary effort- I would never return. read more

We've tried to get in to this restaurant three different times with more than an hour wait so we were really hoping for great things! on Valentine's Day we went and the wait was only 40 minutes so we decided to have brunch. The waitress was pleasant. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast which was two scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon, and English muffin, and a quarter cup of fried potatoes. I had the lighter side egg white omelette with asparagus. Once I picked out the entire head of garlic, 11 cloves of garlic were in my omelette, it was tasty. The fruit that came with it was very fresh but the melon was not quite ripe. The food didn't taste bad, there was just nothing special about it. There was nothing memorable other than having so much garlic in my omelette. my husbands was very average. We might go back some other time to try waffles or something special but for $30 I would've rather gone to J Alexanders for brunch. it just seemed overpriced. And did I mention we didn't even get refills? I had a Diet Coke and my husband had a coffee. Once our cups were empty they stayed empty and we didn't get water either. I guess we just missed what all the hype was about. The bathroom was clean. The inside of the restaurant seem to clean enough but there was no special ambience to it. read more

We have mixed feelings about this place. First, we loved our waitress. She was awesome. Great service, she checked in on us a lot, filling sodas and giving us updates on our orders. We waited over an hour and a half. When we left our house, we signed up for the No Wait App's waitlist which was a plus. Really glad we had that option or our in person would've been closer to 2 hours. We wanted to wait for a table together for 6 inside. It was humid outside. Smaller parties willing to sit outside were seated faster. The food...we loved the City Grits. It was tasty and different. We also loved our half order of beignets. My nephew enjoyed his kids cheeseburger. My older nephew ordered from the adult menu...he ordered the cinnamon bun French toast which were a little dry. He didn't like them and one of us wanted to finish it. He chose the homemade turkey patties which the adults loved due to the herbs. The four adults shared three dishes and glad we did. There were a lot of heavy dishes. We were disappointed they were out of fried green tomatoes. So we ordered the crab cake Benedict. There's just one crab cake. It was delicious and so were the country potatoes. We ordered the Crawfish skillet which was ok. Not enough seasoning and it really needed a sauce. It was dry. We also shared the chicken biscuit with sausage gravy. It was good but we wouldn't order it again. We liked some of the food but probably wouldn't go again on a weekend due to the long wait. Not worth the super long wait unless it's just two or four people. This place offers free parking. It's located in a shopping center. read more

Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Get. The. Beignets. Okay, now that that's out of the way.... Also, get the NoWait app, but be prepared to wait anyway. Our "15-30 minute wait" on the app was really a solid hour (30 minutes of that after we arrived and 'checked in'), but to be fair, people lingered over brunch and the staff continued to service tables faithfully after closing. I had the Bacquezo Omelette and it was so good I licked the plate. Okay, not literally licked the plate, but I took home the three bites that were left because no way were they going to waste. A friend got the Shrimp and Grits and I recall from my one tiny bite that it was also delicious, but I only got one tiny bite because there was no way she was sharing any more.... so I guess, yes, delicious. Make sure the coffee is fresh -- not terribly hard to do on a weekend for brunch, but my first cup was definitely stale and burnt. The second was perfection, however, so I think it was just an aberration. Okay, that's the food and drink. Let's talk about the service. My personal noteworthy thing is when a server refreshes drinks without being asked. In this case, not only did our waitress refresh the drinks, but she kept refreshing them after the restaurant was closed and she was doing her closing duties. When she couldn't, she sent a proxy with a drink. So, definitely a check on that front. The other thing was the Tuscan potatoes. First, don't waste your $1.50. They weren't that good and the country fries were amazing. Second, if you ordered them because you were curious and they were dry and not good and you ask your server if you can swap them and the server both says 'yes' and removes the upcharge, be grateful. Or just stick with the country potatoes in the first place. Full intentions of making this a monthly-ish stop despite the wait, the noise, the crowd. The biscuit beignets alone were worth it all. Did I mention, get the beignets? read more

Had 2 completely different experiences here with a few different places... one on south side blvd Florida was terrible...we were ignored as we waited by the front podium, waiting to be seated, with no welcome (even though there was a hostess who ignored us) finally after 15-20 minutes a very nasty waitress came over just said follow me and walked away from us- we followed her to a table in the middle of the dinning area and asked if we could sit at a booth the waitress rolled her eyes and walked away from us throwing the menus on the table & walking away without a word..we walked out! Next time we went it was totally different great customer service hot food. Although it did take a long time to get the food... read more

Good food overall, yes they get busy and wait time usually isn't so bad I have been at this place on two different occasions and my food tasted amazing. If your in the mood to try something for brunch or even a late lunch give this place a go. I will be combing back. Even my husband approved, we came for a late lunch then grabbed some Starbucks after and watched a movie. What a great location if your planning to watch a movie after or just want to walk around the tapestry park is close. Give this place a go! read more

My mom & I love breakfast here! We always go on weekdays at off hours and never have to wait. The service is always great and the food is even better. The portions are huge so we always split an appetizer and a breakfast. The fried green tomatoes and breakfast beignets are amazing. I've also had the sweet potato pancake which is massive and so delicious. Another favorite is the lobster & Brie omelet. It's very rich & decadent so it's definitely a good one to share. It is a little pricey but I honestly think it's worth it read more

Was waiting over an hour and a half worth good eggs Benedict??? Probably not ... Enjoyed sitting outside, beautiful weather, but still...not wanting to repeat that again. Waiter was very nice but the 2 ladies doing the seating were very unorganized. Relying on an iPad instead of physically keeping track of empty tables. There were plenty of empties and stayed empty for a long time. There's a lot to be said to physically taking care of your job when the technology is not keeping up. read more

10 minutes waiting time for a weekday. The place was pack as usual so you know it's good. I had my usual crab cakes cavallo. Never fails my expectation. The yolk was made prefectly. I had city grits. That was amazing! It you like grits. You should try this. Cheesy and bacon topped with tomatoes. The bomb. We also had a Virginia blood Mary. It comes in a little cute Mason jar with a stick of veggies. However it didn't have the typical celery that we hoped for. Bummed about that . But overall , awesome place to eat! read more

I like the I was able to get on the waitlist using Yelp. However, when I checked in I told them I was a party of one, no one told me I could sit at the Bar right away. They just said we will call you. While I waited I seen people just walk in and go to bar and eat. Also people came up front to complain that there food was not coming out right and they were told big parties have that problem. I finally was seated outside, and waited 20 min before a waitress even came up to table to ask what I would like to drink. When my food did arrive it was not correct same issues the big parties were having. I will say the food was good, the orange juice was way over priced. $4.00 for a small cup. All in all not sure the price and wait was worth it. I will try again during the week to see if I have different results. I do love the name and the layout of the location. One other thing be careful in the bathroom the floor is slippery like soap was all over it, almost fell. read more

My friends and family have always been a fan of this place. Friendly staff for the most part. Until today, for Saturday brunch. We knew it would be busy because it's a weekend and it was a beautiful day. We joined the waitlist as expected and didn't have to wait more than 40 minutes (the app was saying 60-75). We ate pretty fast, and only had our mimosa (ONE) left- about half a glass. Server brought the check without asking, that's fine. She said no rush. Made our payment signed the receipts. Not even FIVE minutes go by, both of us still holding the freakin mimosa glass, another server (didn't see her name tag but she had her hair in a bun with one random braid strand hanging out). Comes to our table and says "so was everything good?" We said yes. She replies "well I noticed you guys are sitting here and are done." Excuse me?? Then she walks away after stating that???? Me and my friend were shocked because clearly we were still finishing up and thought we ate pretty fast and weren't taking our time. After this we stayed at our table to finish our drinks for another 10ish minutes and the entire time, the same ONE girl kept walking by the window and STARING!!! What!!!! Will never be going back. We understand it is a busy time and day but come on. There were other empty tables and other parties there the same length as us. Go to a different location if possible. read more

To sum up our experience, it just fell short on the hype. - at least 1.5 to 2 hour wait to get in, even if you use the wait at home app they use. Not just on Valentine's Day but consistently this long every single time we've tried to dine there. - wait staff stopped by our table only twice the whole time (once to take the order and the other to deliver the food). No Refills, didn't ask if the food was ok, etc - food was heavier than expected, and just all around bland. We all ordered different things and nothing really stuck out as worth waiting more than 1 hour for. It's nice they have a bar, but I just can't get over how busy it was for the quality of food and service. I was expecting much more. read more

Arrived at 10:40 and got our drinks at 11:20. The food was decent, no complaint there. The waitress was nice when we saw her, but the overall service had a lot left to be desired. We didn't get refills and felt like we were ignored. Anytime a waiter or waitress walked by they wouldn't even look toward the table where we could get their attention. Two different times we had to get up and grab someone. You can get food anywhere that taste good. To me, service is what makes a place stand out. read more

First, the "No Wait" function doesn't quite work. We checked as we were getting out of the car and it showed Zero wait time. When we got up to the hostess stand, we had a 20 minute wait. The table where we were sat shouldn't be a table. It was on the patio, shoved between two walls, with a window looking at another table inside and a server station right next to it. The server station was used to hold coffee carafes, extra items, and the most fun part, buckets of dirty dishes. Servers and bus boys were constantly and loudly depositing dirty dishes basically right next to me. That table should be removed and the server station should be placed there instead, since the station was also right next to a door where servers were constantly in and out and people getting hit by the door while at the server station. Ok, so next up is the service. Our server was very nice. But we couldn't hear her. She was kind enough to bring free beignets since it was our first visit, however we were given 4 beignets for 5 people and only 2 plates. Our food got to our table quickly (and was accurate) but the server neglected to check on us even once. We finished our meals before she came back and most of us never got more than one drink. It would have been nice to get one or two of the drink orders taken off the check because of that. There was a manger of sorts walking around asking all of the tables how everything was. Somehow we got missed. Maybe because we were stuck in the corner. Had she come over at some point I would have been more than happy to point this things out. Hope she reads this. But hey, the food was delicious. read more

We decided to come here due to the overwhelmingly positive Yelp reviews, but we came to a conclusion that this place is overrated after our visit. This is the second time we've visited this place, but we didn't eat here the first time because it was on the weekends and there was a long wait. This time we came on Tuesday around 10:30AM, and the place was still fairly packed, and we had to choose to sit outside, at the bar, or wait. We sat at the bar, and the service was fine. The server took our orders promptly, checked on us periodically, and made sure we had everything we needed. The manager also came by to check on us, which was nice. The things we didn't like were actually the food, which was surprising to us because all the reviews said the food was great. I ordered the Hey Lucy omelet (Avocado, breakfast chorizo, sautéed onions & green chilies with Cheddar-Jack. Sour cream & salsa sides), and my wife ordered the Crabcake Cavallo egg benedict (Jumbo lump crab cakes, two poached eggs, Andouille infused hollandaise with diced red bell peppers & green onions). Hey Lucy Omelet - 2.5 out of 5 stars Very bland. The chorizo tasted okay, but the taste of it was so strong that I couldn't taste anything else in the omelet such as the avocado. I felt like I was just eating a huge chunk of chorizo. I couldn't even taste the eggs. The potatoes on the side were so salty that I could feel my blood pressure increase as I eat them. Although the presentation of the food was very nice. Crabcake Cavallo - 3.5 out of 5 stars The crabcake itself was so-so, and my wife didn't really like it (I thought it tasted pretty average). The sauce had a sour taste to it, which she also didn't like (I found it okay though). The pouched egg was nicely done. The potatoes on her plate were even more salty than mine. It was so salty that she couldn't eat it, and she had to eat mine. Pros: Great service Nice interior design and atmosphere + outdoor seating Lots of customers all the time (medium noise level) Cons: Average food Expect a wait on weekends and holidays In conclusion, maybe we just have weird taste buds, but we didn't find the food as extraordinary as the other Yelpers. This place is definitely not worth a 15-30 minutes wait. It's also a bit more pricey than other breakfast places. read more

I was visiting the area so we decided to try this place. It looked cute. At first glance, it looks like a great menu. We tried the beignets, which were biscuit beignets, different, but good. I had The Floridian. I was very excited for it, it sounded great from the menu: a cream cheese filled omelette with garlic sautéed crabmeat on top. I thought the omelette itself was very bland. If it wasn't for the garlic sautéed crabmeat and green onions on the top, there would have been no flavor. It would have been much better of the crab was on the inside. The coffee was just ok. Overall, I was not very impressed. It was warm and humid inside, in March! Most of the items on the menu looked overpriced. I probably won't return. read more

Ridiculous!!! Tell people 45-60 mins then when it's been over an hour we ask then it's 25 more minutes!!! Never been so mad! I didn't stay! Breakfast is now over for me....I can have lunch anywhere at that point! So stupid! read more

This place is one of the few that left me not wishing I had gone to Metro Diner instead! The environment was clean and cozy with tons of outdoor seating, the waiter was polite and attentive, and the food was good. Appetizers are affordable and tasty, and waitstaff clarifies whether you want it first or with your meal. Try the beignets with marmalade dip or the cinnamon bun. We enjoyed the Floridian omelette. The eggs tasted fresh, stuffed with cream cheese, and loaded with crab and a bit of green onion. It was simple and satisfying. The country potatoes were not a greasy plate-filler! They were crisp home fries worth nibbling. We savored the sweet potato pancakes in spicy syrup with toasted nuts and whipped cream; a balance of flavor that made it a worthy breakfast entree. The coffee was passable but not amazing, though the hand thrown mugs were charming and kept the java hotter due to a narrowed mouth. We will be back to try the Benedicts and wraps. In short, if you are on the Southside, this is the place for your "fancy sit down" breakfast. read more

The food & service was horrible, I'm really not seeing what people are raving about with this place. It took us 20 minutes to ever even see a waitress to get drinks. I was visiting Jacksonville and was looking for a great breakfast. My wife said this restaurant had wonderful reviews. The only complaint that I have was how busy and in demand it is. On a Saturday morning, it took an hour for a party of four to get a seat. We also asked to be sat anywhere so our table was outside (which was fine because it was a beautiful day). The menu is primary breakfast, but the food looked beautiful. I got omelette with cream cheese, chorizo, bacon and it was delicious. My wife had the shrimp and grits and she thought it was delicious. It was a lot oh food and I was only able to eat half. They have a bar as well so if you want bloody Mary's or Mamosa's you will be well served. I would definitely go back again. read more
