The menu boasts a wide selection of breakfast to lunch to brunch items so there's something for everyone. My boyfriend always gets the omelettes here and I typically like to try dishes from the seasonal menus they offer. The service was great. The food was good, but.....eeehhhh, only good. The biscuit things were tasty in the sauce, seems to be mostly honey. I ordered a crawfish scramble. The eggs seemed a tad overcooked, like they should've been fluffier. I put their hot sauce on it, and that definitely kicked up the flavor, but it seems a bit lackluster by itself. Despite being presented as a crawfish scramble, the umami was completely dominated by the sausage. I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, but the crawfish itself was dry and also seems a bit overcooked maybe. I should've put some more butter on the English muffins. read more

We ate here for breakfast on Sunday. We waited 10-15 minutes and were seated at a great table outside. The weather was great and I loved eating outside. The server was overwhelmed with tables, I think we had 1 server for the entire outside area. I assume that was not by design but the server was swamped. We ordered food and it took 1 hour for the food to come out. I am not sure why but it took over 110 minutes for our breakfast. I ordered the chicken biscuit with gravy. The chicken was very dry. The gravy and biscuit was great. My friend got the Huevos rancheros and said it was delicious. Once we asked for the check it took 25 minutes to get the check, but I think it was because the server was so busy. Biggest complain was how long the food took and how dry the chicken was. The home fries were also boring and soft. The service was also slow but not a huge issue since we went during peak times. Drink refills also didn't happen. In addition, one of the toilets in the women's restroom would not flush. My friend said she tried to get it to work but the toilet was struggling to do anything. I know plumbing at the beach isnt great, but one toilet in a women's bathroom is not great. read more

Let me first say that I researched the menu before going and it seemed liked there were a lot of yummy gluten free options for breakfast. "Seemed" Hummm... the waitress didn't seem pleased to be there, which made the experience a little uncomfortable. I ordered an iced coffee and it tasted like all cream so I asked her about getting some more coffee in there and her acknowledgement was: "that's how they make it...it's a special blend." I asked to return it and she seemed mad and not accommodating. Now when looking at the gf options we asked what's the best liked. Her answer was: "I'm not gluten free so I wouldn't know." Okay....I went with the mixed gf pancakes and they were very under cooked. I couldn't even eat the banana foster one. My son had the standard breakfast but couldn't have potatoes because they fry them in the oil they fry everything else in.‍ No other option was given but grits. There was a homemade sausage, but it tasted like pure herbs my carnivore husband said! We just ate what we could, paid our bill ( it is pricey for breakfast..total was $46 for 3 people), left a really good tip (maybe she was having a bad day) and left. When we first moved to Jax and lived in Southside, our apartment complex was next door to Another Broken Egg (ABE), so it became our go-to breaky spot. So for us, not only do we come back for the good food, but also for the nostalgia warms that we get for what was a part of a big move for us. One of our favorites are the beignets, while they have nothing on Cafe Du Mondé, they are delish! More like a sweet drop biscuit. We're also a big fan of their omelettes. My husbands favorite is the Bacquezo. The menu is pretty wide in variety and they often have seasonal specials. Coffee is great and love the cute mugs they serve it in, which are available for purchase. We prefer the Jax Beach location because Southside is a little tighter of a fit, plus they have much more parking available because it's in a whopping center. I love their mugs and coffee. read more

This was our second time here. This place is not easy to spot from the main road, 3rd street. If you find this place in Yelp or online search, you will not be disappointed. The outside is clean. The outside seating is small. The outside seating is dog friendly. The inside is kept in excellent condition. You will be seated as soon as entry. If you opted to sit outside you must let hostess know. You could also set yourself at the breakfast bar. The service here works hard to keep drinks full, the tables clean, and customers satisfied. We have been here twice now. We have had five different dishes. Each one was a unique recipe. Their menu is full of dishes that you will not see at other breakfast corporations. First time visiting this location (versus the Jax location on Southside). We opted for this one as the wait was a whole HOUR shorter than the Southside spot. Definitely worth the extra drive if you're ever facing the same dilemma. The food is just as scrumptious here! Though this location is larger, it's louder inside (think "Metro Diner" volume) due to the open seating area. Only major difference in the menu here is the limited coffee selection: the Southside location has espresso machines and steamers - Jax Beach does not. When I was a really young kid, I mean really young, I used to watch the Donnie and Marie Show. You know, Donnie and Marie Osmond? Well, maybe you don't know. If not, Youtube it. Trust me. If this show doesn't scream 70s then I don't know what does. Anyway, my favorite part of the show was when Donnie used to sing that he was a little bit rock and roll and Marie used to sing back that she was a little but country. I think it was usually at the end of the program. Anyway, I always used to identify with Donnie. I wanted to be rock and roll. Breakfast places, to me, are kind of like the Donnie and Marie show. No, no, I don't mean they want to be two different kinds of music. I mean that there are basically two types of breakfast places. First you have the gritty, simple kind that pretty much prepare everything on the big grill. . . the eggs, the bacon, the orange juice. All prepared on that big greasy hot flat surface. Ok, maybe not the orange juice. But definitely everything else. The "sit at the counter and have your order taken by a waitress named Flo while drinking hot black coffee out of a heavy white coffee mug" kind of a place. Then you have your more foofy kind of breakfast places. Where there are scones and giant German pancakes. And croissants. With chocolate. Mmmmmmmm, chocolate. Is one kind of breakfast place better than the other? Well, was Donnie better than Marie or was Marie better than Donnie? I guess it's all a matter of choice. At least for breakfast. I mean, Donnie was obviously better. Just shut up if you disagree. Shut. Up. But as for breakfast? Some like greasy and some like foofy. What's interesting about Another Broken Egg is that its kind of difficult to put it into one of my categories. It definitely has its foofiness. I mean, you can get Power Bowls and Quinoa for heaven's sake. Oh and mimosas! That screams foofy. But then they also do some pretty good basic breakfast. Like the traditional day starter. Eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes and an English muffin. Boom, a good old fashioned breakfast. Now, I tend to usually stick with simple items like scrambled eggs and toast and bacon, but the pancakes and omelettes and power bowls all look pretty good. Although I'm not sure I could ever convince myself to order a Power Bowl. . . but it did look good. Oh and my wife loooooves the City Grits. If you like grits, get them! Look, I've been here a few times and haven't had a bad meal. The waitresses are super friendly and the coffee is good. Which is key. Life's too short to drink bad coffee. The only down side to this place? It can get crazy crowded and the wait times can be really long. So I would certainly recommend going early if you want to get in and out quickly. You want an egg sammich or maybe a lobster and brie omelette? They do both! So go here. Whether you're rock and roll or country, you'll find something you like. We came here today after passing by it going home one day. I've tried to hot breakfast places that aren't part of big chains lately, and this place did not disappoint. We had to wait a little bit before going in, but since it's in a plaza, we were able to hit some other spots before coming back to eat. It was a shorter wait to eat inside, so we did. Our server was really nice and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the limited time Apple Fritter french toast with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and an extra side of grits. My partner got the pumpkin waffle with over medium eggs and andouille sausage with a side of home fries. My daughter had the french toast kids meal with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. I drank decaf coffee, my partner had the orange juice, and my daughter had chocolate milk. I couldn't even finish my meal. It was so good. I also loved the atmosphere and the decor they had in the restaurant too. Outside, people were taking turns playing Cornhole. The brunch food is at another level. The biscuit beignets is a better version than Nola's cafe' du Monde. My boyfriend and I ordered the half portion. The crab cake Benedicts were also a great choice. Come here early before the church crowd because it does get crowded fast. There's some outdoor seating but it's pretty close and tight to other tables. I did not like it and could only imagine if I was heavier that I would be extremely uncomfortable. Over in the Jax Beach area today and looking for a nice breakfast and we found this place. A friendly hostess greeted us promptly sat us and offered some suggestions. This gem of a place is located in by Home Goods in Jax Beach with outside dining and ample parking. I had the GF pancakes with 2 over easy eggs and bacon. Kind server replaced it quickly with a better one. He got two slices of bacon, but left one. Who leaves bacon behind?!? So I tried it and it was awful. His bacon tasted like chemicals.
