The point of this review is mainly to give a shout out to the "City Grits" from Another Broken Egg! These are hands-down the best grits I've had in Indy. Seriously. Can't wait to go back for more and spent an entire day afterward thinking about them. The City Grits have Gouda, bacon, green onions and tomatoes, and really could be a meal if you ordered a couple of bowls. I also ordered the Broken Egg Biscuit Sandwich with eggs scrambled + extra gravy and a Strawberry St. Germaine mimosa pitcher for the table. Everything was delicious, but the grits were SPECTACULAR! Joining the wait list on Yelp on the drive over meant our group only waited about ten minutes once we arrived before getting a table! Much better than the 35-40 minute wait time people coming in after us were given. I also appreciate the general manager, Garrett, for coming out and personally seeing to my friend's eggs being poached hard after coming out poached soft the first time. It was my first time visiting, so the establishment gives you a free order of beignets - they were yummy! I ordered the Traditional, w/chicken sausage and potatoes - I just wasn't impressed. Today was a total disappointment with our brunch. Placed order online. Zero changes to orders. I did a quick check if order and had to send the mgr back to kitchen for two glaring missing items (the hollandaise sauce for the Benedict and the sauce for the waffle. I didnt notice that we were also misisng the strawberries and mint for the waffle. My family quickly pointed out when I arrived home that both orders of the Beignets were Missing as well. So the main toppings for a waffle an two other orders where completely missing. Restaurant was not overly busy and I guess togo orders no longer are important to a restaurant to ensure they are correct. HOW does a kitchen missed 4 major items for orders and TWO completely missing orders. Called and talked to manager who Offered to have me come back, they closed in 20 minutes, and my food would be ice cold. He then ONLY offered to refund the two missing items. I wasn't looking for a everything free BUT damn you screw you that bad and at least offer up a free meal or something to say "hey Im sorry my staff TOTALLY dropped the ball" We'll see at this point if the missing items will be refunded as I have my doubts! read more

I love the atmosphere of this place. It's a nice brunch spot in the heart of downtown Nickel Plate (Fishers). The customer service is great, and we are usually seated right away. The beignets, for starters are good, but sometimes a bit hard to bite. I LOVE their French toast. The shrimp and grits are great, but I'm not head over heels for the added cheese. But, I'm not a big fan of cheese, in general. I'd say the shrimp and grits are the best item (aside from the French toast) on the menu. I love that they give customer loyalty punch cards. Too small and cramped, always jammed, no reservations, have to do something to open that place up

We initially went to the wrong location at 96th & Meridian and had to turn around once we got there. We didn't realize there was a location in Fishers at 116th. I'm kind of glad the mistake was made because the 96th street didn't seem to have a lot of social distancing going on. Fishers location got us right in based on our estimated waitlist reservation. All staff wore masks and guests are pretty spaced apart both inside and outside dinning. I ordered my fav...shrimp n grits and a side of fried green tomatoes. Yummy!!! We also strawberry mimosa. It was ok but a little too sweet for me. They had a promotion going on. Buy a $25 gift card and get a free entree on your next visit. I was looking for a bday gift for a friend so this was perfect! Parking may be a little ways away depending on how busy the area is. However it's definitely worth the effort. read more

I had out of town guests for the weekend and decided to go to Another Broken Egg here in Fishers. We joined the online waitlist and it was wonderful. We got to the cafe in 10 minutes and were seated 5 minutes of waiting. So love the online waitlist! The food is southern style. It was absolutely delicious. Also, we all ordered boozy coffees, yowza those were strong but wonderfully delicious. I was a bit skeptical to try a new location because the first one I tried was so yummy. I didn't think it could get any better. And I was almost right. The service is just as amazing. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated in a booth. Our food came out shortly after we ordered and it was really fresh. One thing they don't do is skimp on the seafood. You get a nice chunk in every bite. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five was the French toast. As a lover of and self proclaimed expert, I was a bit disappointed. Alex helped us today & she was such a doll. Our food & drinks were 10s across the board! Beignets were served warm & were slightly crispy on the outside, pilllowy soft on the inside. First time. A+ service. Waitress was polite and responsive. We told her we weren't ready to order three different times but she returned to check within 5 minutes each time whereas most places they don't return for a loong time if you need more time to decide and don't order when first asked. A ambiance. Well arranged combination of booths and tables for seating options. A to C- food. Nothing cooked for breakfast was served hot, just warm. A+ plain grits, although not very warm, were creamy and delicious. A custom made bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich was DELICIOUS even though not hot (cheese should've melted). D plain pancakes dissapointing and bland taste (reminds me of IHOP). If not for butter, syrup and other topping the pancake have no taste at all. Dense texture as opposed to light and fluffy, served barely warm and would not melt butter. I asked for a new hot replacement order of pancakes which when delivered were b-a-r-e-l-y warmer, still dense and bland. Likely return again for tastety grits and custom biscuit sandwich. read more

Today was Fathers Day and although it the wait was an hour - we waited and waited and waited, there was some confusion when we were being seated with our son needing a high chair and two adults, but they took care of us. The manager Corbin made sure every single guest was taken care of (I'm sure he said sorry so many times) and knew how long their food would be - I know it was a busy day and service was slow, but super thankful for his attention to his customers. Corris (pronounced like in the song) was AMAZING!!! She has this energy that is contagious! I mean her smile makes you smile!! I haven't been to Another Broken Egg since 2015 (while pregnant I would go after every doc appt ) So when I realized there was one in downtown Fishers, it was a must that I go! Corris gave us a quick run down on the history of Another Broken Egg (I love details) and she introduced the menu in a way that made me want to try new things. (I was set on getting just basic French toast) She explained about how the granola is made in house! YUM & THEN she CHANGED MY LIFE WITH THE DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY GRITS!!!!!! In words of Beyoncé "World Stop, (pause) Carry on!" So I had to get the shrimp & CITY grits.... Do Not Judge, I got the Apple Fritter French toast as well with chicken sausage (AMAZING) Also, we tried beignets with this orange zest sauce ( I do not like orang zest and still loved this sauce ... I placed my order online and proceeded to the restaurant. I got a good parking spot feet from the door. Which is unheard of for this congested area. I had a minimal wait inside the restaurant to grab my food. I thought everything was great. I headed home to be utterly disappointed. Now first and foremost I was there today getting my free birthday pancakes. There are few free things in life so when I get free items I try to pay for something to help with the associated costs of the free item. I even tipped on my to go order. So I ordered bacon to accompany the pancakes.The pancakes were fine but my bacon was burned beyond recognition. Y'all dirty for giving me this burnt @$$ bacon. I doubt you would have tried to pass this off if I was dining inside the restaurant. I don't know for sure if it was done because the pancakes were free or because it was a to go order. Now I feel petty for even writing this review. However, I got time today and I got to let people know to think twice before ordering online. Ultimately, I'm disappointed this happened. After visiting the restaurant 2 weeks ago We had to come back for more. We called a head of time due to having a large party. When we arrived our table was waiting for us. We had Simone again as a waitress and she was the best. She is very attentive and always made sure we're taking care of. We did have some issues with the bar they would forget to make someone in our parties drinks after Simone had asked several times for them to be made. They did end up taking the drinks off the bill for that person. There was a guy that was severing everyone food. He was amazing we were their for about 2 hours and when we was free he would walk around just speaking to every one and cracking jokes. I wish I got his name because he made our time very enjoyable. Overall the food was excellent. The southwestern skillet was delightful. I added some sriracha sauce for a extra kick. The watermelon refresher was delicious it was perfect for a hot summer day. I never knew there was another location. This one is just as good as the Nora one. I completely forgot that they close at 2pm but luckily my group was able to squeeze in at about 1:30. We didn't feel rushed at all and the staff was great. Gary the manager stopped by our table and definitely had us laughing. I came here with my best friend to celebrate my birthday and WOW! Gabe was our server and let me tell you he is the best server I have ever had anywhere. I used to work in the industry and he went above and beyond for us. Actually every staff member we encountered were so kind and sweet. This was my second ABE experience. The first, was just as memorable as this time. The first time, I had Banana Foster pancakes. I literally dreamed about those pancakes for months after. THE FOOD: I ordered the crab cakes Benedict. That meal was one of the highest priced items on the menu and at $14.99, I thought that was a steal of a deal! If you've ordered crab cakes at other places, you know that for just two crab cakes, that's usually the price. So, I have to disagree with anyone who says ABE is overpriced. I was able to substitute a biscuit instead of the English muffin and even though the biscuit was huge, there was no upcharge. Those crab cakes! How were they so good in a landlocked state?! Since I moved to fishers in 2018 this restaurant has fallen in quality substantially. From management/customer service to food quality, what once was a reliable 4/5 star is now a disappointing 1/2 star at best. Very sad!
