Let me start with the host & server did their job and were super friendly. Silverware was dirty, beignets not cooked through, my sauce on my skinny benny looked like nasal mucus and then the dishwasher came out to another table with his wet gloved hands and dripping water everywhere. They were also out of the new special they have on the menu. This was at 11am and a Friday with a half full restaurant. Told us it would not be ready before closing because they had served last piece earlier. The experience as a whole was not very appetizing. The manager came to our table after our waiter comped the two dishes mentioned above. All we got from the manager was "sorry." Would not recommend this location until they find new management. Have never had this happen at any other ABE. read more

Generally ABE is good. However, avoid the "beignets". Instead of being lightly crisp and airy, these were just heavy dough balls over fried. Awful. Next time I'll stick with Panini Pete's beignets. I've received to go orders from here before that were good. This review is for the service, we came on a Sunday morning and hadn't added ourselves to the waitlist. We were fine enough waiting but we hadn't even been greeted by our server after 20 minutes of waiting at our table. We promptly left since my children were starving. Delicious!! The waffle was so fluffy and moist. The whip cream was yummy too. Great seasonal flavor and it hit the spot. Eggs and bacon were made just right. The only thing I wish I had was toast to dip in my egg or clean up all the yolk that oozes out. 5 stars again!! We will be back! read more

On your journey to LA (lower Alabama) this year we found Anothe Broken Egg. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff all have smiles. I am assuming this place has its regulars, either that or the staff get real friendly with tourists. I love seeing and eating where locals hangout! The food was amazing and if it is your first time they give you an order of beignets. Unfortunately I am unable to tell you if they were good because my children scarfed them down like starving wolves! I am assuming they were good. The menu!!!! The menu is full of awesome choices. I found it very difficult to make a decision. We started our meal with beignets. For the main meal, I ended up choosing the Bourbon Pancakes with maple apple chicken sausages. Very tasty but the sausages were lacking a little I flavor. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other choices. Definitely looking forward to my next meal here. read more

About two weeks ago, it was time, once again, for the annual Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival. We haven't been to the popular attraction in quite a while, so we decided to make a day of it. The egg dishes have some creativity and for the most part are tasty. Their prices are very high for a breakfast place. Yes, my wife and I got Irish coffees but the cost for 2 of us was equivalent to a 5 person meal anywhere else. An egg dish averaging $15 is also pretty high. The menu is littered with up charges if you don't want their disappointing sides. They might have the WORST breakfast potatoes I've ever had. If they aren't frozen, bagged and seasoned potatoes, could have fooled me. They are murdered in a deep fryer that clearly hasn't had its oil changed in a while and the result is seasoned, tasteless rocks. For a gourmet breakfast place, please learn how to make real breakfast potatoes! Our server charged us an extra meal on our check and replied "oh, they were supposed to remove that." Having worked in the industry, I know this scam. See if I notice, overpay and then correct it yourself for a better tip. Unacceptable. They weren't busy which made the misteps even worse. Seated right away. Service was very good. A+. The lemon blueberry mimosa was tasty and refreshing. The salted caramel cold brew was equally good. The Hashbrown Benny had a nice crisp to the hash browns. And the city grits were flavorful. The cheesy grits however, were not. Very plain. And the cheese was just melted on top. Their food is usually very good. It's a nice atmosphere in downtown Fairhope. Their skinny omelette is usually delicious. I substitute spinach for the asparagus. The last couple of times it's been a little too oily, but still tasted good. I don't like their coffee so that gives me an excuse to drink the strawberry mimosas which are very good (yet very expensive). All in all I recommend Another Broken Egg in Fairhope. You can get on their waitlist using yelp. This helps as many times there is a 30 min plus wait. read more

I've been here numerous times. Im always frustrated. The food is always good and different. If you sit at the bar, service is good. Other than that I think I need to stop eating there. The service is ATROCIOUS. I already know that and I still come. My bad. This time: waited at the hostess stand for over 5 minutes to see if I could be sat outside with no communication; waited outside over 10 minutes then called the restaurant to see if I could get a server outside; brand new waitress only 2 days in and she couldn't answer and questions about the item I was interested in; someone else served my food, it wasn't correct, and I had no silverware; I told the waitress to bring my check with the food because I know they're busy and wanted to speed that process up; she finally brought the check when I was almost done and was going to walk away till I told her I had my card right here; so of course I waited for the check, she dropped it and started walking away when I told her I needed a to go box. So that's it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. And I'M NEVER EATING AT ANOTHER BROKEN EGG AGAIN! I highly advise you to skip it as well. read more

I've been to this location more than a few times, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. I found this gem when I was in Atlanta and decided to look it up when I got back to Mobile. There wasn't one in Mobile but shortly thereafter open one in Fairhope AL that's what I decided I wanted to check it out and the rest is history. It's been a popular breakfast spot of mine ever since then. My go-to favs are the lemon blueberry pancakes goat cheese, City Grits and beignets. Over the last few months the city grits while so good have less bacon, onion and tomatoes. Hopefully it's was just because summer was busy but the City Grits I know and love will return. Everything else is awesome. Because of the popularity of this place, there's usually a wait of more than 45 minutes. But you can join the waitlist from Yelp which is fantastic. However, there is still a wait after you place your order, a long wait. They should consider free beignets as a appe-teaser until the entree arrives. -1 star for wait The hostess and wait staff are terrific. And the restaurant by is bright, clean and family friendly. Looking for a nice place for breakfast? Definitely a place to put on your list of places to try. The menu has a list of breakfast choices that make it difficult to choose...I will be going back to try something different. This time I tried a chorizo omelette that was good. I'm not a big fan of breakfast potatoes but I tried theirs and they were really very well seasoned and cooked perfectly...not soggy limp potatoes, but had a nice crispy edge to them. My daughter had the crab omelette that was amazing! We shared the seasonal carrot cake pancakes...indescribably good!!! We couldn't eat everything, the portions are generous...but, we did enjoy tasting the dishes and taking home leftovers for our husbands to finish up at home. A nice place for breakfast, With indoor and outdoor seating. We experienced very friendly and attentive service. A great mother/daughter breakfast outing place. We were told it was an hour wait for 2 adults and 1 toddler, however there were multiple vacant tables in front of us. We weren't given an explanation on why the wait was an hour long. We ended up spending about 40 minutes on the wait list before being seated. The menu is unique and the food was delicious. We were given a good amount of food, I ordered the Napoleon with a Black Cherry Mimosa and my partner ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict. 4 stars due to the service we received when we checked in for the waiting list. read more

We ate at Another Broken Egg while we were in downtown Fairhope. It's in a great location on a corner right in the heart of Fairhope. Lots of windows and very open. Definitely reminds me of New Orleans in atmosphere. You can tell that the owners spared no expense in creating this restaurant. We ordered Crab Cake Benedict and Southwest Chopped Salad. The Crab Cake Benedict was fantastic and the salad was very fresh and well prepared. I have a sneaking suspicion that every item on the menu will be just as well prepared and well thought out. I couldn't get home to write this review fast enough. We have eaten at, and enjoyed Another Broken Egg many times in the past. That's what makes this so painful. We were told there would be a fifteen minute wait, that became a thirty minute wait. We were finally seated at a two seat table directly in front of the bar, in the middle of the room. We ordered our drinks. Then something began to drip on our table. The waitress brought our drinks and didn't appear concerned about the mystery liquid raining on the table. We used our drink napkins to stop the liquid from splashing in plain view of the waitress. We fully expected the waitress or bartender who was eight feet away to say something. They didn't. A manager finally noticed when he saw me taking a picture of what I had just realized was a SEWER PIPE for the upper floor of the two-story building in which the restaurant resides. He asked us if it was leaking on the table again, and generously offered to seat us at the bar. THE BAR. Given the manager's level of concern of a LEAKY sewer pipe in his restaurant, I believe, had the bar been full, he would have graciously offered us to eat our $68 dollar meal off the hood of his Honda Civic. So, we ate at the bar, figuring the manager would adjust the tab or offer to let us fix the leak or something.. Instead he disappeared into the kitchen the moment our check appeared. We didn't make a scene because this was supposed to have been a romantic brunch. It was only afterwards that we realized how awful the entire experience was. On a positive note, eating at the bar for $68, plus tip, is just like eating at the Atlanta Airport, without all that pesky luggage. read more

From the wonderful atmosphere, to the warm friendly staff, to dog friendly outdoor seating which included bringing our fur baby a bowl of water, to the absolutely amazing, best brunch we've ever had...it was definitely a GREAT experience that we only hope we can return to! Sitting outside allowed us to enjoy the fresh flowers in bloom and meet the friendly folks walking by, and other patrons. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. Our server was very rude and was scowling the whole time. We waited 20 minutes just to get water. Eventually we asked the manager if we could just get some extra help in getting the waters. After that our server was worse. She seemed very agitated and never even introduced herself. The ambiance was good, I liked the restaurant itself. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great and it was made worse by the terrible service. This was an unplanned visit while we were waiting for a local bank to process a transaction for us and we scrambled to grab a lunch. We hadn't had breakfast so a brunch made sense. We've been to a couple other of these franchise locations but this one had its own look and feel. The location is on a corner in a small downtown atmosphere with a nice local vibe. There's mandatory mask mandates, for all, in place (8/3/20) with some social distancing being observed but not with strict table spacing and there's also outdoor seating available. Hand sanitizer is readily available at the door. We were greeted at the door and it was busy so we only waited a few minutes to be seated. The young lady that seated us took our drink orders and our server, Alicia, arrived quickly to take our order, she was friendly,professional and did a very good job. There's some nice choices of local themed menu choices like crab cake Benedict, crab cakes and fried green tomatoes, Creole shrimp benedict, shrimp & grits, the Floridian omelet, lobster & brie omelet, Mardis Gras omelet, blackberry stuffed French toast and chicken & waffles. My honey decided on something quite different that we've not seen before, it was in a table placard, TZATZIKI TOTS. It's crispy tater tots with Mediterranean chicken, Kalamata olives, Jack and goat cheese topped with pickled red onions, cucumbers, diced tomatoes and tzaziki sauce. It looked interesting and she thought it was okay but the bite that I tried wasn't to my taste and I thought the tots were way short of crispy. She says okay but wouldn't order it again. Now I was really still feeling like breakfast so I ordered the biscuit & gravy combo but it was no to be. The very nice manager came over to tell me that they have just put in some fresh biscuits, after about ten minutes after order, and it would be at least another fifteen minutes and offered to substitute something else. Okay waiting wasn't that big a deal but I'd been awake for about 7 hours at this point, my tummy was rumbling a little and I had been debating another choice so I jumped on substituting my order with huevos rancheros and super glad I did. It came out hot and fresh in less than five minutes and was outstanding! Hot crispy tortilla wedges topped with chorizo, black beans, onions, green chillies, jack cheese, cilantro and two over eggs with sour cream and salsa sides and my side dish of black beans were excellent. The dish was well executed with a nice presentation and it was very tasty. The manager was on top of the whole process both taking the order and delivering plus he followed up making certain that I was happy. I would absolutely order that again and was happy for making the choice. Bottom line: This location is clean, nice atmosphere with a very good staff, Yelp friendly with nice attention to detail and focus on food and give a 10% veteran discount. read more
