This has also on my list of "why have I still not reviewed them? I'm here all the time" local places since they opened. I still miss the sandwiches from the place that used to be here (Kress Market had the *best* lamb), but Anna's is also a great replacement. Kress didn't have a great, chill bar space to hang out in, either, so Anna's wins on that (when it was Kress, we generally always just ordered take-out; Anna's is such an inviting space, I sometimes just stop in on the way home from places. Though we also get sandwiches to-go often enough, too.) So far, from their current menu, I've tried the "Pine & 5th" (hot steak sandwich - excellent), the La Roma and the De Rossi (very similar cold cut sandwiches, just different cheeses - also excellent), the grilled cheese (just a classic grilled cheese, but perfectly made, and absolutely brimming with cheese - excellent too), and the Fuggedaboutit (their take on a hot meatball sandwich, the only one I wasn't super impressed with - was a bit dry, and not nearly as meatball-stuffed as I was expecting). You can also get a side-sized portion of any of their deli salads for $2 more with your sandwich (their deli salads are all great, too, so I pretty much always take them up on that.) Their tomato bisque is also great - if you get a grilled cheese, and you don't also get the tomato bisque, you're doing it wrong (though I still miss the tomato bisque from their first menu, that chopped up bits of grilled cheese *into* it - I'm sad they stopped doing that. I miss the beef dip sandwich they had on their first menu, too. I suppose my point here is, I'm not sure if they're going to keep changing their menus, but either way, the food is great.) Also great: while the sandwiches have gotten a bit expensive (worth it, though), they have a *very* inflation-fighting-looking drinks list, with a rotating craft beer line-up of mostly local beer for mostly ~$7 for a pint (and one great house blonde for cheaper) - and for a couple dollars more, they also carry several different craft michelada mixes that you can get them to add to any of their beers. Equally nice, they also have a very solid rotating wine by the glass list, with several $8-9 glasses at any given time, rather unusually for such quality wine at a restaurant (last time I was there, I had a truly wonderful orange wine, for $9). Finally, they also have an adjoining small deli, with various items you might need from a small deli. Usually what *we* need from said deli is fresh-baked, really good sourdough - until Anna's opened their market, downtown LB didn't really have a good source for daily, reliable, fresh-baked sourdough, so that's been pretty invaluable by itself. (They don't bake it themselves, but it does come from a local craft bakery, and it's very good. Great price, too.) p.s. Every Monday they have AYCE spaghetti right now... I haven't tried it yet, though. They looked pretty busy last Monday though, so I'm assuming it's as good as everything else. read more

When you run out of food (which has happened twice now) it would be cool if you didn't have signs up advertising that you have food.

Sandwiches are delish, tomato bisque soup also good and served piping hot. Great selection of beers both on tap and in cans. Nice little spot for a Sunday Funday. Will definitely be back! read more

I met a lady at one of my events and she told us she worked for this place and we had to check it out.. I am so glad we did, the pizza was delicious. Very flavorful! The pepperonis were rich, not too cheesy & the crust was delicious. Also got a sandwich, Sticky Bird, it had chicken, mustard, chilis, cheese, & lettuce. This sparkling wine was soooo good, and it packed a many punch! (12.5%) definitely recommend. Staff was pleasant, definitely a popular place because they were pretty busy on a Thursday.. definitely a bit of a wait for our food but it was worth it. A little pricey. New location in Long Beach off Pine. They have a small selection of drinks and food but everything I had/tried was really good. They also have different events throughout the week, such as trivia, live bands, etc. My server was highly knowledgeable of the beers and food that was served and she provided great recommendations. They recommend #2 which is philly cheese steak sando - which is bad ( who put the arugula in philly cheese steak with thick steak beef ) I came fr Washington D.C so we use thin beef (korean bulgogi)with Swiss cheese. I went today for first time I been wanting to try their pizza and it disappointed me so much .. the pizza was so dry no pizza sauce all cheese and crust had no flavor just bland .. there ranch was tasty and the customer service was great .
