While we had some initial sticker shock, Anna's proved well worth the price. My husband and I were impressed with the quality of pizza. We got the meatball and potato pizzas and thought both were delicious. They tasted very fresh and the quantity of toppings didn't weigh the pizza down, it just provided flavor. I went to Anna's tonight after my friend Katie Martin told me there was going to be two of my favorite foods: pizza and oysters. I had only heard good things about Anna's from other pizza lovers in the state so I took the opportunity to go and try it for myself. Anna's sits on the corner of Doyle and Camp in the east side of Providence. I remember only 15 years ago I could hear gunshots from Camp when I dated a guy who lived near the observatory. Nowadays, the only shots were the sample shots of wine we got to try from Westport Rivers Vineyard as I waited for my pizza to cook. While I loved the smaller, classic menu, I was there for one thing - the Rockefeller. The oysters are blended with kale and cream to create the sauce and they finish with with fine provolone cheese, bits of kale and parma crunch. My cashier was super friendly and before long my order was on it's way into the oven. The guys making the pies were kind enough to let me photograph them as well! As I waited, I checked out the place, it was bustling for a Thursday at 5 and although there was plenty of seating along the windows, I'm not sure about dine in tables. To be fair, it was a special event so it may have a different set up on other days. Super clean lines and a retro vibe that I liked overall. This pizza was heavenly. The oyster flavor was there, but it wasn't overwhelming. It paired well with the cream, and the kale in the sauce bubbled up like pesto. Savory, salty with big umami tastes that a RI oyster brings to the table. The crust was golden and soft, chewy without breaking your jaw. The kale garnish baked up crunchy in the high heat of the oven in contrast to the softness of the crust. Did it taste like an oyster rockefeller? Kinda but not really. However, was it a delicious pie? 100% yes. 10/10 would order again. I loved trying oysters this way, I think it was a brilliant concept even if the execution didn't pay out exactly as hoped. After the pizza my night got even better when Katie served me her Oysters Puglia - stracciatella cheese (the soft inside of burrata), trout roe and osetra caviar, a splash of sparkling wine from Westport Rivers and freshly cracked black pepper. Words cannot describe how good these were. You get the full taste of the oyster and combined with the other components, sang a symphony so fantastic I had to close my eyes to savor every moment. I only had two, but I wish I had a dozen. I feel blessed she is my friend because that means I can convince her to make these for me in the future While Katie was only there for tonight, Anna's is there year round. I'm glad I capitalized on the opportunity to go, it's about 10 minutes from my place, so you can guarantee I'll be back again soon! read more

I've been waiting to try Anna's Vesuviano for a while now, and just got the chance to this weekend! We got the clam pizza and the meatball pizza. I had never had clam on pizza before, but I thought the flavors worked quite well together. The meatball pizza was also delicious and was a bit more classic than the clam. It was fairly filling for the two of us. It was pricier for pizza, but I would go in person next time to check out the ambiance and other flavors. read more

Pulling up to get our order and we had to wait in the car for almost 15 minutes while the crack head weaved in and out of cars on and off the sidewalk... Then we realize we paid $10 for one 3 oz meatball-Get outta here!!! Insane!! Prices absolutely crazy for what you get. 3 tiny arancini, 1 $10 meatball and a $25 pepperoni pizza that was the size of. personal pie with tip $57...and neither of us are full.. Legitimate Napoli pizza. Not the cheapest, but I find the cost of pizza to be generally pricey (along with everything else) these days. I really loved this pizza. The crust is perfect and you can taste the difference in the flour. The sauce and toppings are great. I highly recommend. We were kind of blown away by the food! The eggplant parm was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious, and the pizza was fabulous. The crust was perfectly wood-fired. We ordered the cheese pizza and added guanciale (pork cheek), which was delicious. Notably friendly service as well when picking up the food. It's a small, thoughtfully curated menu. I can't wait to try the meatball and the arancini rice balls. This is our new favorite pizza (+) place, for sure! read more

So happy this place has moved from a cart to a brick and mortar shop! There isn't a ton of seating but we enjoyed several pizzas in the outdoor area. It was a big hit from my 1 year old to the grandparents! We will definitely be back to try most pizzas and maybe sample some starters next time as well. read more

located where piemonte used to be (which i am still mourning), this innovative pizza spot opened with traditional italian food using traditional middle eastern ingredients sourced from Ramallah by way of Paterson, NJ. i tasted that palestinian olive oil in the food for sure. the story is the chef is an archaeological professional who honors his italian grandmother "Anna" and the historical origins of flatbread coming from the middle east. i love history, cultural integrity of food, and good food so this was an easy try. it's $20-25 for a pie that is 12 inches but it makes sense with these quality ingredients. we got the summer pie which didn't have tomato sauce and i appreciated that because of my heartburn issues. we also split a caesar salad, suppli, and lemon posset. loved the salad could eat 5 of them on repeat. the suppli reminded me of arancini and i enjoyed the whipped ricotta. pizza was filling for me after two slices with all the other tries. the lemon posset had sumac, basil leaves, and olive oil toppings. my unsolicited opinion on this fusion is to sub out the basil leaves for mint leaves, the olive oil for pomegranate molasses, and then less sumac. it was really hot and they had a big fan blowing but it was still hot inside. i also need backed stools for the seating because they're a bit uncountable, and stronger napkins. it would complete the aesthetic in my unsolicited opinion. fab food will eat again. read more

I have to admit, like many other reviews, that the portions are really small for what you pay. We ordered two pizzas and a side of meatballs and eggplant parm, with prices at $10 and $13, respectively. The portions were extremely small; the $26 pizza looked more like a personal size--maybe slightly larger than a personal size, but still not enough for two people. I wish they would keep the prices as they are but increase the portion sizes. Everything we ordered was delicious! read more

I was also astonished to discover their desserts-- a completely unexpected delight. I loved the semolina cake with blood orange slices baked into the top, a limoncello custard inside a lemon rind, and a sublime fig tart! First off, this is a pizza joint. But, I've lived in PVD for 5 years and this is the best one for sure. Started with a Ceasar Salad, looked unassuming, but the anchovy dressing was fantastic. We ordered the pepperoni and mushroom pizzas. The sauce is light and flavorful, and the crust is thin with a perfect crisp from the wood fired oven. The pepperoni was authentic, the kind that curls up at the edges, and the mushrooms had a slightly smoky flavor. We thought we'd take some home, but devoured everything. Highly recommend trying this place as the food is delicious! read more
