I am a longtime fan of Ani's Chicken as I used to order lunch for our office over 10 years ago. The rotisserie chicken is mouth warering deliciousness - very moist and seasoned perfectly. The sides of hummus, rice pilaf, and the green salad are the perfect accompaniment and the garlic sauce and pita will delight the pallet of any garlic lover. Pre-ordered for pick on the way home from work. Made it just right before closing. They were very nice and asked right away if we needed help. Got a baklava as well the triangle one. I enjoyed the food. Was able to substitute a side for more rice at no extra charge,appreciate that. I got a side of recd cabbage which I Loved with the pita. They gave us a whole pita per person plus extra again appreciate it you can never have too much pita bread. Rice did need a little more flavor but the meats had flavor so it went well together. We got the whole rotisserie chicken, pita bread, purple cabbage, bean salad and falafel. Not a huge fan of falafel, but my girl always gets it, so I had to at least try. Let me say everything was really, really good. Chicken was juicy, well seasoned and flavorful. Purple cabbage and bean salad were also hits. Plenty of pita bread and garlic spread. Delicious!! We get Ani's from time to time, and it's always good! I get that some places can be hit or miss, and everyone has different palates. But for me, Ani's never disappoints. We also like Halal Guys, but you gotta drive nine years to get there. Ok. Maybe just 7 1/2. Service was great. Cashier was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The reasons I gave 4 stars: 3.5% credit card fee. Altho there's a sign saying 3% fee, but the receipt came out to be 3.5%. Also, when it's 90 degrees outside and they don't turn a/c on, I have no faith in their food safety. It was really hot inside. I stopped going to all restaurants that don't turn a/c on in the summer. The owners are very nice people and they just celebrated their 30th anniversary in business which is no small feat. My friend and I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich and I requested a side of fries with my order. The sandwich was good with big chunks of chicken but lacked more vegetables to give it a balanced flavor combination. Came here tonight for the first time. My meal (chicken plate) was ok. I didn't have much expectation but enjoyed it just the same. The portions are nice and large, and I esp loved the rice which has a nice flavor. Just don't look at the kitchen (looks super dirty in the back), and you're good. My only wish as a sit in customer is that they would close the front door.... We were shivering as we ate our meal. The chicken was good overall few pieces were dry the rest were cooked properly. Rice was really good. The tabouleh lacked flavor and oil. It was kinda dry. The Mediterranean salad didn't have much flavor other then tasting like vinegar. The garlic sauce was mellow which I loved. Parking is a challenge since there's only a couple of spots available. I have been coming to this place for many years. I ordered a falafel sandwich and it was ok. No tomatoes, cucumbers, just onions and lettuce. The customer service is abysmal. They have no sense of what it means to have good customer service. It's not even basic, its simply awful. Again, another place that can't even offer a free drop of water, even if your choking. The week prior to today, I ordered a catering package. Again, it was ok. The salad was ok. It was not savory, the dressing lent nothing to it. It was just vinegar and oil, no real flavor. Again, the rice pilaf included was basic. Nothing extraordinary. I was wondering why there was so much leftovers and after thinking about it, none of the people in our party went back for seconds even though it was free for them. I also ordered a packaged cranberry cake. It was ok. Too sweet. But ok. Very heavy. Again, not worth buying. The one thing that always brought me back to Ani's was the hummus. But this time it was ok. Not what I remember. It was watery.The stuffed grape leaves were fine. Nothing to write home about. In fact, the canned Trader Joe's version is actually better. This is a major disappointment as I had always loved this place. Such a shame. My hometown staple is now just a basic restaurant with so so flavor but no more soul. My family has always been fond of this place and I have nothing but high praises for their delicious food but as they say "there's always a first time". Sure enough, it was f***ked up! I was here yesterday and ordered for 1/2 chicken, I always go for the thigh first since it's my favorite part of the chicken and to my surprise, my order doesn't have my favorite part. Picture will show. I asked the lady in the cashier who took my order, she then asked the gentleman in the kitchen. I don't understand what they were talking about because they were speaking in Spanish. She was just insisting that it's 1/2 chicken and keeps repeating it to me. I understand I ordered 1/2 chicken but that's not what I got. I don't usually rant like this but it was very frustrating when you wanted to end your day with something you've been craving for and was looking forward to a sumptous meal. Sadly, that wasn't the case for Ani's on that day. I just decided to leave and say no more to them since were just going around in circles. The lady with the short curly hair lacks customer service BIG TIME! This little place has good food, great service and reasonable prices. I ordered the half chicken plate which came with a fresh little green salad, rice pilaf ,garlic sauce and hummus. The chicken is tender and full of flavor. The salad is fresh and the dressing pairs well with it. The rice pilaf was buttery and moist. Yum! The hummus and garlic sauce are also very good Pita bread is good. The service is great! You are immediately greeted with a friendly hello.
