First thing is first check your receipt because they are know to "charge you for something that it's obviously more expensive "and hope you don't find out. Also placed an order 30 minutes ahead of time only to get there and wait another 30 minutes to get your food. In all honesty if you're trying to get food at the food court, which shouldn't be any longer than maybe 20 min if they are making fresh like the hibachi 2 stores down, you wouldn't think it would take "1 Hour" to get your food. The food is so fresh and flavorful. I had the Greek chicken sandwich with French fries and both were delicious. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. Upon finishing my meal, I went back and asked the Middle Eastern cashier if the cooks in the back were Mexican. She confirmed they were. To which I proclaimed, "I knew it! I know my people! It was delicious." The cooks heard me and started smiling as they knew exactly what I meant. We're amazing cooks! Mexicans can cook every cuisine. We have no limits. I'm Mexican American, so I'm not as good of a cook as the cooks who originate from Mexico, but I still know my food and I know these Mexican cooks take pride in their cooking skills. I will say that it did take around 15 minutes for my meal to come out to me and the people who were ahead of me got their meal after me, so if you want something fast and aren't willing to wait, you would probably be annoyed at the speed of this place. First time trying this place and I will never again. I got marinated chicken plate but it was huge box of rice with 5 to 6 tiny pieces of burnt chickens. Food was extremely salty (even rice) so I threw them out not even half way through. I was going to choose Panda Express at first but decided to try this place..... I was wrong. It was just yuck. I really like coming to this place when I'm hanging out at the mall. Most often, the staff can be a little crass, but that doesn't stop me from ordering. Also, fair warning, expect to wait for your food. I tend to not mind waiting because I know what I order is typically grilled on the spot, so I am ensuring myself a somewhat fresh meal. My go to order is the chicken breast with an upgraded side of hummus instead of salad. I love their rice and I always find the chicken to be juicy and flavorful. I also love the chile that comes with it, it's slightly spicy and yum. The meal also come with some sort of sauce that I pour over my rice, and it adds a nice flavor to it. My first time at this place and the last. It's the worst place for "Mediterranean" food. According to the kebab, the meat looked like rubber, when it's ground beef and very soft, but that's not all. The dish is so mediocre that when you see it, your hunger goes away. It's just rice and a salad that looks like ceviche. I have nothing against ceviche, but that was horrible. I haven't done much Mediterranean so I don't really have a refined pallate for Greek cuisine. For the most part this establishment is in a food court at the Montebello Town Center so I suppose it's fast food. My cousin the food hound tells me that I haven't eaten authentic Mediterranean to make any comparison, but what the hey, I'll give a review anyway. For one the place has another name which is Local Mediterranean Grill. A little hard to look for on Yelp. Annoying. So my cousin and I ordered some #9 combos which has both beef and chicken kabobs along with pita bread, Hummus, and Greek salad. The portions are big enough for two people so that was good. The chicken was flavorful and the beef was really good and juicy. I liked the Hummus but the pita bread was kinda hard. The Greek salad was okay. The meal was decent and filling. Honestly it deserves 3.5 stars. I plan to try more Mediterranean cuisines from Glendale in the future to see how this one stacks against the authentic ones... More reviews to come! read more

Pretty solid for a mall food court lunch option. This place has been in the Montebello town center for quite a long time, and has always been one of the better options for lunch in the mall. If you're craving Mediterranean food though, and you don't mind traveling outside of the mall, there's a lot more options in the area. My latest trip, I tried the chicken sharma (shawarma) wrap. It's basically crispy chicken shawarma with onions and tomatoes, smothered in a lot of tahini sauce. The chicken is nice and crisp on the outside, but kind of dry on the inside, but that's offset by it being drenched in tahini sauce. The wrap also comes with your choice of sides; I opted for the fries which weren't bad. If you get any of the kabobs, it'll take some time given they grill it all to order. First off, I believe there's a name change from Mediterranean Express Grill to M Local Mediterranean Grill that reads above the stand. At $8.95 I ordered the "M-Grill Chicken" after more than 15 minutes of waiting, I got five small chunks of grilled seasoned chicken. I was disappointed of the smaller pieces of chicken served, with an abundance of rice, the platter was unbalanced. Only to save a few pieces of chicken to go inside the pita bread as a wrap, and no offerings of any hummus, the pita was almost useless. The good part is the tenderness of the chicken. I was puzzled with the sauce that came in a small container, I wasn't sure if it was the meat oils from the cooking to accommodate the flavor or just added juiciness for the chicken, I did find that kinda of odd. Also, included is the Greek salad which didn't do too well with my taste buds, it was overly soured and difficult to eat, so I ended up throwing it away. Good places to eat in the Town Center are not what one might call plentiful. The Med. Express Grill is the only place in the dreaded food court that I will partake of. The food is fresh. So fresh, in fact, that you need to place your order about 10 minutes before you need to eat as they cook each meat plate to order. This can be a pain in the ass, but the quality of food makes it worth while for me. If I'm in a rush, I'll call ahead. I always order a #11, which is the chicken plate. It ALWAYS satisfies. Chicken a top a bed of soft rice, pita bread, a salad of your choice (I get the tabbouleh or the shirazi salad), a roasted tomato and a roasted pepper. All for under $7. It's cheap, it's yummy and it's pretty good for you. I have been known to drive to the Town Center just to eat here. Tis true.
