The fact that they open at 10:00 AM is a huge plus compared to other local spots that don't open until 11:00. I ordered the Chicken Kabob ($19.99) via DoorDash. The order arrived exactly as advertised, and I appreciated that they included utensils, which is becoming a rarity these days. The meal includes two skewers of chicken with two sides; I chose rice and hummus. It would be great if they offered an option to add a side salad, as that was missing from the menu. Regarding the food, the chicken was well-seasoned, and the pita was served warm and soft. The garlic sauce was solid, and the rice was nice and moist--even with the addition of noodles, which was a unique touch I didn't mind. The hummus was a bit oily, likely from the travel, but the flavor was still good. My only real complaint was the peppers on the kabob; they didn't taste fresh and had an unpleasant burnt flavor. Overall, it was a solid meal and a good reminder not to judge a book by its cover. I'd definitely be open to ordering from here again. read more

(Salad, Fries, Rice, Hummus, or Veggies). We ordered the following combo plates: 1. Two meat combo plate (chicken & beef), with fries and salad as sides. 2. Two meat combo plate (Beef & Kafta), with fries and rice. 3. Two meat combo plate (Beef & Lamb), with fries and rice. 4. Two fountain drinks Most of the people got to-go at this restaurant, so it was pretty empty when we dined in; however, they were very busy because they had so many to-go orders. Our food came in about 15 minutes later. Our orders also came with pita bread and yogurt. The pita bread was soft and perfect to dip in the Greek yogurt. I liked my beef Kabob; it was very flavorful. But the meat quality of beef and chicken was not very tender; they were a bit chewy. The Kafta was a Mediterranean dish consisting of ground meat; this one was ground beef. It was not bad. The fries and rice were also good. Make sure to order your food earlier because you may need to wait for a while. The service was friendly. This tiny establishment right across from Chase Bank offers authentic Mediterranean food at very reasonable prices. Our office enjoys ordering from John's because there is something on the menu for everyone including vegan customers. I ordered the Veggie Plate that came with two falafels, hummus, pita bread, and stuffed grape leaves. Delicious and flavorful! The menu offers a wide variety of choices including skewers and gyros. Still one of the best I've tasted at any Mediterranean restaurant. Our catering order came with 12 skewers. We chose beef and chicken. Each skewer had sliced lemon and grilled bell peppers. Catering also came with garlic sauce and a choice of greek or caesar salad. We chose the greek salad and asked for feta cheese on the side. The salad dressing also came on the side. I like getting the Salmon plate with Salad a vegetable, I usually will stop here around 2:00pm after the lunch crowd is gone, but this place is quite busy. There's no parking first of all for this restaurant so you're parking on the street. There are literally no customers and there's no one manning the front desk. Apparently, the front desk person decided to check her messages in the back. I had to call her - twice. Then I simply ordered pita bread, garlic sauce, and tahini. These things are already made. There's no cooking involved in any of it and I confirmed their pita bread isn't even made on site. Yet it took 15 minutes for her to put that order together. My order was already up. She decided to go ahead take orders and clean a table, even though I was waiting, and there was no one else in the restaurant needing a table. Furthermore, the tahini is unedible. It is worse than Trader Joe's has no flavor and has the thickness of plaster. I left it there and said please don't bother to serve it to anyone. I can't believe for something so simple it took that long and was so complicated for her just like other says she can't multitask with calls that are coming in from orders and creating an order in person. While the meat was tender and well cooked, it was woefully underseasoned, so it tasted fairly bland. Even the addition of the tzatziki sauce and fresh veggies (lettuce and tomatoes) couldn't help it. The tzatziki sauce was also not great. While the serving size was generous enough, think I would only come here again in a pinch. The one good thing is that it is not too expensive. Pretty average kabob joint. We got the 12 kabob set for $120 (with tax). Serves 6-10. I think it's pretty pricey for the flavors, but ok considering the variety. Chicken kabob is pretty tender. Beef kabob is nice but a little chewy. Shrimp kabob is unknown. We ordered it but didn't get them, so we don't know if they're any good. Greek salad is mostly iceberg and oniony. Unclear feeling about the dressing. Wish we got the caesar salad instead, but it's ok. Hummus is smooth but very sour and garlicky. Pita bread is a little on the tough end. Rice taste like school lunch. Parking is pretty terrible. Only 1 available spot and 1 disabled parking spot. There are a couple of street parking, but looks unsafe (as in nobody else parks there and it's a big street with cars flying around). We ordered over the phone and had to wait extra 15 minutes at pickup. Probably best to order online, it'll be integrated to their system. Also, we made requests to the kabob but didn't pan out, so that sucks. It's also situated in a weird location so you'll have to be extra careful while parking and crossing the street. Environment: Walking up, you'll see a couple of tables and chairs out front for outdoor dining; indoor dining is also available. The order counter is towards the right of the building and when we arrived we informed the staff member that we were there for pickup since we placed one using Uber Eats. The interior dining area is small with booth seating, it appears that most of their business is take out so even if the place is empty you may have a wait as we did. I ordered at the counter, waited in our booth and our meals were served in take out containers. My sis had the chicken kabob plate with rice and hummus. I had the beef kabob plate with veggies and hummus. Portions were generous. My beef was tender and medium rare, veggies consisted of steamed carrots and broccoli and the hummus was very flavorful. My sister said her chicken was a little dry but the rice had a nice flavor. Her accompanying garlic sauce was very good and I recommend to get that instead of the Tzatziki sauce. This place is a good value with respect to taste, quality and quantity. They also offer non-Greek items like Fish & Chips and Philly Cheese Steak. I recently had a disappointing experience at John Kabobs, and it pains me to write this review as I used to be a regular customer when I lived nearby. I had previously visited their second location and had a wonderful dining experience, which is why I decided to go back to the original location. I placed an order through Grubhub, eagerly awaiting the familiar flavors of their delicious food. However, to my extreme disappointment, the chicken in my order was dry and lacking the tenderness I had come to expect. It was a stark contrast to the juicy and flavorful chicken I had enjoyed in the past. Adding to my disappointment, the garlic sauce that accompanied the meal had a spoiled or rancid taste. It was a far cry from the creamy and savory sauce that used to complement their dishes perfectly. It was disheartening to see the quality decline so significantly. I must say that this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. As someone who used to be a loyal customer, I had high expectations for John Kabobs. Unfortunately, they were not met during this visit. I sincerely hope that this was an isolated incident and that the restaurant can address these issues to provide the exceptional dining experience that they were once known for. I was in charged of planning my work holiday luncheon for Dec 2020. We decided to cater from John's Kabob since I had co workers that told me they been here before and loved the food. I ordered the catering package of 26 Skewers of chicken with Greek Salad, Rice, Hummus, & Pita ($159.99), 26 Skewers of beef with Cesar Salad, Rice, Hummus, & Pita ($159.99), 8 beef skewers & 8 chicken skewers ($4.99 each), and 4 orders of Falafels ($6.99 each) with a total of $499.08. Upon pick up, the food wasn't ready however the staff were really friendly and helpful by loading the food in my car. Majority of our staff, including me, enjoyed the food and was very happy with the selection from here. They even kept asking me where I got it from. Also, I sent a survey to all the staff that attended and a lot of them said this was their fan favorite. The food were pricier and was hoping they can do a better price break for the amount of food I ordered, but I'm glad our staff was happy and loved the food. I would like to consider here again for this year holiday luncheon, but depends on our budget and if they can give a good deal. This place is a little on the pricier side but you will get full off the plates. My dad was craving gyro so we stopped by this little place nearby. There's parking in front and the nearby residential areas. The parking lot has 2 spots - 1 regular and 1 handicapped. Order ahead of time, each order takes 25-30 minutes to make. I got the gyro plate which came with two sides (hummus/fries/rice/salad). I chose hummus and fries as my side. The plate comes with white sauce for the meat, meat of choice, pita bread (4 pieces), onions, and a pepper. The hummus is really good and is a big portion. I couldn't really taste the white sauce, but i put that on the meat anyways. The gyro comes shredded & loose (other meats are on kabobs) and was really filling. The fries were crispy and did not have seasoning (I just dipped in hummus & white sauce). My dad ordered a gyro and lamb combo plate, but for some reason, it came as chicken and beef kabobs. No clue how this mishap happened, but by the time we went home, we did not want to drive back. We tasted the meat to confirm the taste, and we gave the place a call back and they just undid the charge for lamb (lamb is +$2.50). Kinda upset because it took 30 minutes to make, and they didn't double check the order to make sure it was correct. The receipt had the correct order though.
