I got my 8 week old labradoodle from Animal Kingdom and I am so happy!! The employee who helped me-- Cassandra, was the absolute best! I am a first time puppy owner and Cassandra helped me pick out everything I needed before I brought him home. She sent me pictures and videos of him while I prepared my apartment for his arrival. She kept in contact after I brought him home, answering a million and one questions. One month after bringing him home, I have a happy, healthy, well behaved fur baby named Charlie. He is smart and playful, and has slept through the night since the day I got him. Beware giardia in new puppies when brought home from this store. I had to take him to the animal hospital a few days after I got him for diarrhea. My friend who also got her puppy from Animal Kingdom said the same thing happened to her. Since the time I walked in the door my family and I were greeted. We already knew what baby we were looking for. I had recently lost my soul baby of 14 years so my heart was in pieces. I wanted a baby but was so unsure. Andrew and his staff understood my pain and gave me time to sit with my new baby. They answered all my questions and concerns, even though I was somewhat a mess still at this point they were so understanding of my tears. I can say they made me feel like family. I strongly believe that with a great leadership that Andrew shows, this why his store and staff are all so amazing, just watching the way they interact with not only puppies but there customers as well is a BIG reason why I would recommend this exact store to anyone looking for a soul baby. I have to add while in the store there was a regular in there that was just a young kid, the way they treated him is a big reason of why I would go back, this kid was part of them you would have known no different the respect they showed him and he showed them melted my heart and the story behind him being there touched my soul, I am a mother of a special needs child and it was so great to see the love they all showed for this kid, I could see the love in his heart. I stumbled in here as a 19 year old U of A sophomore one October evening in 2009 with a couple of friends looking to burn a weeknight evening playing with some cute puppies. We walked in right before they closed and they had a golden retriever out roaming around the store. I remember asking the store attendant about why she was out, and she told me that she was a special puppy and knew to stay inside with her people. I have never had such an instant connection with an animal so quickly. I couldn't sleep that entire night and went back in the morning to get her. As a 19 year old failing out of college, I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into, but I knew I had to have this dog. She changed my whole life. I became responsible, started caring about making sure we had the best life possible, and did everything I could to provide for us. She came everywhere with me. We traveled the entire country together, we moved to Chicago together, we bought our first home, she helped me meet my fiancé, and she was there as we welcomed our second golden retriever to our family a year and a half ago. She took her under her wing and taught her as much as she could. She had such a special connection with so many people and was so adored wherever she went. My baby Bella passed away a few weeks ago in my arms after fourteen of the most special years together. They say you're very lucky, you get one dog in your life who will be your soul mate. This store gave me that, and I'll forever be thankful for the gift they gave me. Is this the best place to buy a dog? I have no clue. All I can do is tell you my experience of getting my best friend. We had the BEST experience adopting our little Maltese from Animal Kingdom in Tucson. We drove in from Phoenix after Amanda sent us all of the information about the puppy that we were inquiring about the day after we put our deposit down. When we got there we were taken to a play room to get to know him a little bit. He had obviously been well taken care of while he was there because he was very comfortable with us and loved treats! When we brought him home he was so comfortable with our dogs and made himself right at home. We also had two people follow up to ensure that he was adjusting okay. I was looking for a Cavachon puppy with no luck. A friend of mine suggested Puppies N Love or Animal Kingdom. They bought their shihtzu there. I looked through their available puppies and found our girl and called to make an appointment to see her. I fell in love. The process from start to finish was painless. Waiting a week to get my girl was hard. Our puppy had loss a few ounces since arriving at the shop. They were very mindful about her not being homed until they felt confident she was healthy enough to be placed. Cassandra made the process so much better by texting her weights, sending videos of her eating and giving us a daily status report. She even updated us on her day off. Animal Kingdom really delivered for us. We were looking for a long haired Dachshund when we stumbled across Animal Kingdom. They have many locations in Arizona. When browsing available puppies, I couldn't believe the selection. There were professional looking photos of the dogs, along with the location and breeder information. Very nicely done... We had been looking for a female, long haired dapple. After less than a week, they received the perfect pet. We called and was told that she had literally been available for 30 minutes. We knew she was the one, put in a down payment and scheduled a viewing. So it was off to Tuscon from Phoenix! When I first arrived, I couldn't believe a mall pet store would have such a large selection of pets. I was also surprised to see so many a employees caring for the puppies. Everyone was wearing masks and playing with the puppies. They rotate them into free play areas and smother them with affection. When one would go potty, it was immediately cleaned and sanitized. The place looked and smelled clean. Becca was our pet counselor. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable from start to finish. When asked why the puppies were flown in from other states, I as told that AZ has no puppy mill laws and that they only deal with states that have laws that inspect and certify their breeders. That was comforting to hear. Next was the stack of disclosures, certificates, and insurance options. That part was a bit tedious but understand the necessity. I did decline insurance and was pleased that I was not pressured to accept it. Finally, we had our puppy! Our toes have not been safe since! I just took her for her first vet appointment. She is healthy with no defects. Perfect little puppy! Animal Kingdom is by far the nicest pet store I've been to. They tell you they will cover the cost of vet and meds and when it's all said and done it was just for the meds. Will not recommend to purchase a pet from them . We purchased a 12 week old Havanese puppy from Alex, in the Tucson store. She was incredibly helpful. She took the time to understand my needs and desires in a dog. She learned about our family, property, animals and health requirements. The entire process was wonderful. I drove from California and spent 4 hours with various puppies. Alex walked me through the entire process. Everything put me at ease and the puppy, "Coco Channel", is a perfect fit. Alex followed up multiple times and she was happy to help me with feeding, treats, toys, puppy questions. California has NO puppy stores and breeders aren't easy to visit. Many do not want you to come meet the puppies. This could not have worked out any better...other than opening a store near me;) read more

This is how this journey began, I had baby fever and the hubby wanted a dog. We went on date night and felt that we'd benefit from walking off the insurmountable amount of carbs from Olive Garden, so we decided to walk around the mall. We decided, "let's go see the dogs at Animal Kingdom (AK)." So, we proceeded to walk in. It wasn't too busy and then it got busy. There were only three associates that appeared to all be busy. Finally, we walked around their small display area and laid our eyes on a fawn colored, male French Bulldog that was as cute as can be. He was sleeping, yet it was love at first sight. We proceeded to find a store associate who happened to look in our direction and requested to see the pup, up close and personal. She asked for AZ ID or AZ DL (like when you go on a test drive for a new car) and went back and got the pup. She took us into a small room with two chairs and a small countertop with pet funding brochures on it. Again, we fell in complete love. It was just like having a baby but without the 40 weeks of hyperemesis or nearly unbearable labor...and, it was immediate. LOL. Long story, kind of short- we finally got the attention of one of the associates, Auna, (pronounced like "Ana" just spelled differently) and we let her know we were interested in moving forward with the pup. She told us how much he would be and that he was "on sale" since he had been with them for some time. Between the hubby and I, we were approved with two loans they could bundle together that was just for the price of the dog. We did have to make about a $160 upfront payment, right then and there that was not clear to us. Ultimately, this dog is as much as a 2018-2019 car payment, a mortgage or an abdominoplasty (with Dr R. Taki- LOL)...so yeah, we took a moment to "think about it, before we finally accept." They put the pup back than the hubby and I walked around for another five minutes and decided again, YOLO, YOLO, right!? Let's do it. We notified Auna of our decision and accepted the financing options and bam...we were the proud owners of a lovely 3-month-old male French Bulldog. As we proceeded to confirm the financing options, some other staff member (hiding in the back, I presume) washed up the dog, cut his nails and made sure he was tidy and already to go. It was at this point that we were told about the following: 1) That about $160 fee we were charged in addition to the financed portion of the dog; 2) Auna recommended that we purchase a kibble that is exclusively sold at Animal Kingdom as "this is what he's been eating since he's been with us"...mind you, it is adult kibble and he's 3-months-old; however, we were so damn excited for our new addition we didn't even notice until after we bought their largest bag; and finally,3)as we were signing the contracts for the selected financing options, we heard some dreaded words: kennel cough, giardia, and coccidia...UGH. Are you serious!? You're going to wait until we sign binding paperwork to tell us our new dog just finished his cycle of medication for the kennel cough and parasites but "most likely still has it because he's been with the same dog since he got in." Yeah, had we not signed yet and had we not cared about the potential adverse effect on our credit, we probably would have passed. This initial omission is horrible as it appeared to be a regular practice as Animal Kingdom. It was then that I replayed the conversations of the other associates with other customers who selected animals about collecting a stool sample as we were given the same blurb. Obviously, the environment you have for the animals is causing the SAME issues with all animals. This is where they get you...this is where the CON comes in. At this point, I concluded that AK was just like any car dealership. Buyer's remorse hit hard, and this feeling was worsened when we took the pup to their recommended vet and were told, "dry kibble is not appropriate for this breed, as they have trouble digesting food as it is, they [AK] should've known better...". Luckily, we can exchange the food for other overpriced merchandise sold at Animal Kingdom. Moral of the story: if you don't have the money upfront to make an investment on an animal than either (a) don't get one or (b) get duped into buying one for 2-3x times markup here. Yes, you get a free initial vet visit at one of their two recommended vets to follow-up on the parasites and kennel cough (as you should) and lifetime 10% off their overpriced merchandise. Ultimately, it wasn't worth it. We would have waited for a parasite-free pup elsewhere had AK been open and honest about the issues or current meds that the pup was on BEFORE signing any binding documents. Awful, business practices. Now, nearly two weeks later, are we happy? Yes. Do we still love our Frenchie? Yes. Is it just like having a newborn? Yes. read more

My wife and I have been dreaming about getting a Shiba Inu puppy for a couple of years now. We walked by Animal Kingdom a few weeks ago while running errands and saw three Shiba Inus. We played with one of the puppy and considered other breeds as they have many puppies there. We returned two weeks later and played with another Shiba Inu puppy and immediately fell in love. What we loved about our experience is the generosity of the staff, both in terms of answering our multiple questions and providing us a lot of honest information about the Shiba Inu puppy. Amanda, the Manager, was very helpful in helping us decide, but the crown goes to Andrew. Andrew stayed an hour past closing time on the day we decided to buy the puppy to start the paperwork. We went back the next day to finish the paperwork, get to know the puppy more, and take him home. We asked Andrew a lot of questions, hard and bizarre ones, and he answered all of them with honesty and dedication to his job. Buying a puppy was a bit of a stressful experience for us as it was our first time. Andrew gave us tips on how to feed him, how to take care of him during the first week, recommended a vet and foods and toys to buy, and he continued to help us after we bought the puppy, answering all of our questions which was a very nice thing to do. We stay in touch with Andrew and give him updates about the puppy. You can tell he cares a lot of his job and the well-being of the animals. I'm not at all paid to write this review; my wife and I genuinely had an amazing experience thanks to the staff of Animal Kingdom and particularly Andrew. read more

We had been searching for months for a very small dog and thought we would take a look at the tucson mall. We were greeted right away by a wonderful young lady,Amanda. After discussing what we were looking for in a new pet, She did a great job explaining different breeds and particular puppies that they had in house. This was such a great experience. We had an amazing experience at Animal Kingdom in Tucson. As soon as we found our little mini schnauzer on their website, we knew it was meant to be. Amanda was SO helpful throughout the whole process! We even had to leave little Atlas at the store a few weeks longer than we planned since he developed a little cough, and Amanda made everything much easier on us. She sent us lots of updates on his progress and even sent some pictures & videos of him! I bought both my Boston Terriers from Animal Kingdom in Tucson, and I would definitely recommend! The store itself is really clean. Jasmine helped me with my first dog, and Andrew helped me with the second. They were both so helpful and caring. I could tell they loved our puppies and made sure I knew everything I needed to know to take care of them. The paperwork went smooth as well. I did receive several follow ups from Jasmine and Andrew regarding the health of our puppies. It was really nice to know they cared about our dogs past the purchase day. We came to this location from San Diego just for our beautiful mini schnauzer. My girlfriend and I have been searching for one for a few months and we stumbled upon Animal Kingdom. We did drive a bit further out to this location in Tucson because of the amazing communication from one of the associates there Jeff. I originally wanted a brown one but they sold it before I could get out there. What stood out was that Jeff kept in contact with me. He offered to possibly special order one but also updated me when there was more that came in. Lucky me, there was a girl that came in and the process was so smooth and efficient. Any questions I had he answered or found the answers for me. I felt so comfortable working with him and knew it would be well worth the trip. The day we came, he coincidentally was the one thst greeted us and again amazing communication and you could tell he loved working there and cared for the puppies. Everything was thoroughly explained and he gave good recommendations or advice for all the questions we had. The location is so clean and all the staff was friendly and all the puppies looked happy and was all getting play time. I could see why the puppies always sell out so quickly ( I was always on their website looking at the cuties). Warning: when you purchase a puppy from Animal Kingdom you will have to execute a contract acknowledging that you cannot return your puppy for a refund if it has parasites when you adopt it. Apparently many of their puppies have parasites and they can't have everyone returning their pups. Indeed, I adopted a puppy from Animal Kingdom and 3 days later when I brought it to the vet, I learned that my 10 week old puppy had giardia. The puppy had not been eating very much and my vet said the pup was not healthy enough to receive his next round of shots. The vet prescribed a medicine to treat the giardia. In the meantime, my older dog got giardia from the puppy although I was vigilant about picking up after the puppy. There are probably 20 to 30 puppies in the store at any one time. They likely exchange their infections. You would be safer adopting from a small reputable breeder. I cannot recommend Animal Kingdom for pet adoption. read more

I honestly do not know why I haven't stepped in this place sooner! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. Every puppy I've seen here looks like they are loved and get the best care. Today, I took home a Shitzu puppy and although there was some delay in processing the financing, the worker, Kathy, was super patient and helpful. I would recommend this place to any potential dog owner or current dog owner that needs any information at all for pet care needs. I am incredibly glad I stopped by today! I've known about this place for a long time, every time my husband and I go to the mall we've always stopped in and looked at all the puppies. My husband has always always always wanted a papillon, it was one of the first things he ever told me when we were dating as teens. We fell in love with one online, we thought she was so adorable. My hubby emailed about her and asked her price, and we got a response from Kathy the next day with all the info and a little more than we had asked. She was very thorough and very nice. We went in and played with the puppy we had asked about and instantly fell in love, they encouraged us to takes as much time as we needed to play with her, to figure out if we wanted to pay up front or do their financing options, answered all our questions and really made it an easy experience. Our puppy was a little too small to take home the first day, but they encouraged us to come in and play with her everyday we could for as long as we wanted. Auna was very nice everytime we came in, unlocking our baby for us so quickly and just letting us have all the time we wanted, she was very sweet throughout the whole process as well. All the staff we interacted with was, and they're all very patient. Overall, this place made it such a nice and easy experience to get the dog we wanted. It's a little sad to see that they have to have their customers sign a waiver that purchasing a dog is their right, because of people pushing rescuing who don't agree with purchasing. Rescuing is great, it's awesome if you can find a puppy that you bond with and that fits the things you're looking for, but there's certain breeds you can never find at a humane society or rescue. This place is great if you're looking for something specific. All their puppies are from reputable breeders (they give you the breeder info), they come with the information to have them AKC registered, they come with their pedigrees, and they come microchipped. Edit: unfortunately, I'm having to edit in that this place sold me a sick puppy. Now, they do have health warranties covering this stuff, but they make it a major pain to jump through their hoops to cover the costs of it. If you pay $3000 for a puppy, it should at least be healthy. Now, I'm dealing with a puppy who has Giardia and Coccodia and has now likely passed it on to my other 2 dogs. It definitely makes me change my review on this place just simply because she'd already been treated for it once while at the store, now she has it again. She was also excessively vaccinated according to my vet, which means she probably kept getting sick during her 5 weeks there. We love her very much, but it doesn't change the fact that this is turning into a nightmare situation with 3 sick dogs. read more

Customer service was terrible. I bought my Mini Australian Shepherd puppy back in the middle of April. He was only there for 24 hours, but I was able to take him home that night. A week later, he started excessively coughing, and I knew he had kennel cough. I took him to the vet for antibiotics, and a few days later, my other dog got sick. I contacted their customer service on June 6th to file a claim with all the paperwork, and it is now August 4th and they have not mailed the check after I have contacted them several times. Also, included in that claim, were two distemper parvo shots I had to pay for even though Animal Kingdom's "veterinarian" gave him his shots already. They vaccinated him too early that he needed his shots again. I will never recommend them to anyone, they take terrible care of their dogs, and their customer service is terrible. Go buy from a reputable breeder, you will save time and money in the long run. read more

As past breeders of Cornish Rex we always cautioned people looking for pets to never use a kitty mill. The same thing applies to puppies. Finding a breeder of Standard Poodles close to home was next to impossible until Animal Kingdom popped up in my internet search. Reading the information, including the legislation passed by Governor Ducey made me feel much more at ease with calling them. It was amazing to me that there was the exact puppy we were looking for. Sex, color and especially temperament was there waiting for us as if it had been ordained. For many years we were CFA Cattery of Excellence breeders so our standards were very high for using a retail store and this store met and exceeded our expectations. Amanda was more than helpful to us, she was there when we needed her. She called when she said she would, answered all of my emails and phone questions and made sure we were completely happy when we left the store. read more

The place is exceptionally overpriced and when my boyfriend and I tried to adopt a dog not a single way other than buying it outright worked so we went home upset and empty handed.
