I enjoy seeing the pets for adoption, and this is where we adopted our cat 9 years ago, where the staff cheered her getting a good home! These people do not even deserve a star at all! Took our pets to get caught up on vaccines and the first time my baby come out of the back area with a freaking flee on her head! I pulled it off her right away, they were very dismissive of it! When i called main company they said someone would call me back, no one did. I had to take care of the extra costs to make sure my pets were safe. Since we paid out the high fees the first round DH wanted to finish shots there. The check in gal and vet tech were very friendly. The female so called vet however was just rude, first without asking tries to give my male dog some kinda crazy processed dog treats. I spoke up and said my dogs do not get that kind of processed foods. So she takes it upon herself to get other treats and feeds him not one but several without asking first!!!! Then she tried pushing Her belief about neutering. In a very rude way. No educate information etc. Just acted irritated! I said I have my beliefs in Neutering, however, the actual Owner of the dog(DH) has his own opinion. She acted just rude like It was abusive to not neuter him. Then I said what would YOU like me to do? Neuter the dog without his permission? They wanted to run a test on his eyes(he has what appreciate to be dry eyes, which was mentioned by the male vet the first time), I asked a price for the test and asked what type of meds were prescribed for dry eyes. She dismissed the question so i asked again two more times and i got a snide(her voice and body expressions) then she finally replied in a very belittling tone "well i guess that depends on what med is ordered". She could not answer a simple question of what type of Med! Leads me to believe she does not know her Meds at all! I did video record the entire thing. you can see her looking at me like I was the problem, rolling her eyes, and being very pushy. Rewatching the entire video just made me even more Mad! She has No business taking care of pets and needs to retake pt rights, pt education, pharmacology, and needs a narcissistic personality evaluation to understand why she deflected HER actions behaviors onto Me!! I arrived a bit early for my dogs 8 am grooming appointment, having seen that 7 am appointments were offered that day I thought that it might be fine to drop her off a few minutes before 8. The 2 groomers came rushing in at 8:05 am, fine. You would think they would try to take the pets in quickly but they said they needed a few minutes to get settled, ok. They had not yet started checking in my dog at 8:15 and I said I needed to go and was told by the groomer Courtney "It's not my fault you came early." I said, "It's 8:15, not early." She said "If you don't like this treatment, then your dog will definitely not like getting treatment from me." Wow. Red flag. This PetSmart location relentlessly gives dead worms for curbside orders. I have learned my lesson to just go inside and save me the time. I still order online, but I go inside and pick up my order and do a quality check of the live worms in my bag, picked by employees. 9/10 times they are dead and rotting. The staff is primarily really bad when it comes to nightcrawlers. Without fail, they will give me rotting worms that smell like death. I always open the container in front of the employee and say 'these are dead.' And they look at me with a blank face like ok? What do you want me to do? Rather than them offering to get me new ones, I always have to initiate the ask for new ones. I always tell them to smell it for themselves and to please throw them away. I fully believe that they keep the rotting worms for curbside orders. Because people who order curbside get their items loaded into their car by an employee and they drive all the way home without quality checking. It's at that point when the customer realizes the employees clearly don't quality check the products they pick for the customers. I've learned this the hard way and it has now happened one too many times. I always get rotting nightcrawlers and molted/half dead mealworms and superworms. At this point I fully believe it's malicious and purposeful in order to just make a sale. It's extremely frustrating and no matter how many times I voice this to staff, they just don't care. Underpaid, understaffed, and no care in the world. I understand why they have a lack of attention, but when you have a job to do...DO IT! Side note: The Petsmart location on Orange Grove/River is 1000x better than this location however, they always have consistent issues of items being out of stock so I have to resort to going to this Oracle location. If 0 stars was possible I'd give it to petsmart. Took my dog to get groomed last weekend (Saturday). After booking the appointment a few days prior we brought him in. Upon bringing him in and checking him in that morning we were informed that he had been "ban" from receiving haircuts. We asked why and were informed that due to behavior he exhibited in April last time we took him to petsmart he was said to have been aggressive. We were also informed of a 3 strike policy which clearly isn't right also why even allow us to book an appointment if you know you aren't going to accept it. Last note I'm pretty sure petsmart abuses dogs being groomed. Not only are there several other reviews saying that there dogs show signs of abuse post grooming since the april haircut my girlfriend and i have taken our dog to a different groomer and that groomer had no issues. I genuinely believe it's tge establishment and not the dog. This 5 star review is for the knowledgeable and helpful staff. My extended family had just adopted a cat that had dental surgery, did not want to eat and could not chew. One of the associates was very helpful in recommending types of food and suggested buying non sodium bone broth at a grocery store and mixing that with canned food to ensure the food was easy to consume and stayed moist longer. This turned out to be a great suggestion and very low cost. When we mentioned this to the county animal center where we got the cat they were very interested and wanted to know the brand name and ingredients of the broth. As you can see on my profile I never ever leave any reviews anywhere. This type of grooming service and how we were treated needs to be exposed. I don't want any one else to go through this horrible experience. We took our Labradoodle to be groomed there for the first time. We were told his tail wouldn't be shaved and was shown a picture of how he was going to be shaved. They said he was extremely matted. Not true. We both agree what was going to be done and how much it would be shaved since he was always brushed and maintained by us. They shaved him so bad that his pink skin shows - it wasn't even shaved well and so uneven too. It's like they practiced on our dog. He's an indoor dog but it's now going to hurt him when he's outside because his skin will hurt him with the sun. To top it off the manager on duty Nick was laughing behind his mask. We asked what was funny about this. We didn't get one apology! All we got in return is "we won't charge you but it seems you are not a good fit here so you're no longer welcome here" wow!!! No words! It really is not about the money either ... we would happily pay when it's a well done job! It might seem like it's just a dog for you... he's part of our family and it's horrible how you left him. Took my dog to get groomed for the first time, and they refused to see my dog because they didn't accept the hand written rabies vaccine on his vaccine card. They wanted to confirm with the vet, but they were closed. When i offered to go grab my receipt they wouldn't accommodate us. Our regular groomer couldn't get our dog in for a Christmas spa day so we decided to try PetSmart. I opted for their most inclusive package because our dog loves to be groomed and we wanted her to have a fabulous day being pampered. The total price was $76 which is about 25% more than our regular groomer. My husband dropped her off for the appointment while running some errands. Less than one hour later the salon called to say she was ready. Seriously? That's less time than it takes for me to get a haircut and shampoo. And she was supposed to have nails done, deep conditioner, facial, etc. Normally she's at the groomer for a minimum of 3 hours. I went to pick her up a bit later and she looked fine and they'd done little bows in her hair. But for the price I wasn't wowed. When she comes home from our regular groomer she always smells great. Today she just smelled like a clean dog. Another small issue was how they cut her face. The instructions were to leave her bangs somewhat long to cover her eyes. She is blind and has had her eyes removed so leaving her bangs long (like a small sheepdog) covers the scars and just makes her look better. When I picked her up her bangs had been trimmed back so the no longer covered her scars. Also, while I was waiting for her to be brought out a groomer was working with an obviously frightened dog. The woman who appeared to be in charge made some derogatory comments about the dog but when she saw my expression quickly added 'but he's cute.' Honestly, while there was nothing 'wrong' per se, there was also nothing that wowed me for the much higher price. I'll stick with our groomer Nick and give PetSmart a pass. Sorry. read more

I was using the Pet Hotel for "doggy day camp" several times a week so she wouldn't have to be locked up all day. The staff at the Pet Hotel is friendly, knowledgeable, always excited to see my dog, and very accommodating. I know that our high strung, high-energy, slightly neurotic dog can be a handful at times. They never made it seem like she was a burden, too hard to handle, or made her seem like the real pain that I know she can be at times. The number went right to petsmart and I was told the manager was incorrect and should have issued the refund. I don't think a $15 toy that says it's made to be durable should last under a day for an 11 year old dog with barely any teeth. I stopped in for some dog food. I've never used any services here, like grooming or pet care. The store was clean, busy and I found what I needed. There didn't seem to be any employees on the floor to help the numerous customers. The reason for my 3 star view though is how incredibly slow checkout was. It seemed to be a combination of slow cashiers and slow machines. There is no excuse for a seven person pile up on two open lanes. I guess I'm spoiled by other PetsMarts and their efficiency. I shop at Petsmart regularly. I never had an issue with anyone except the employee named Emily. Everytime I go in to the store she is extremely rude. My friends have also said the same thing. She will not help you when you ask, and she acts like she hates her job. She will also refuse to ring you out at the register if you do not have exact change. I have 2 dogs, three cats, 2 gerbils, a beta fish, and a desert tortoise. But I will never return to petsmart again because of how rude she is. Went in to store to possibly purchase a small wire crate. Since didn't have the dog with me to check measurements I wasn't sure if I needed an 18" or 24". Then I needed a mat. Looking at $60-70 purchase. Schlepped the first crate the 18" one up to register w the mat and asked the cashier what she thought for a Maltese. Asked her as there was no one to be found on the floor for questions. She suggested the 24". She asked me if I wanted to take the boxed crate back to the shelf and get the 24". I did not want to carry that back as it was somewhat heavy plus they can restock it. I'm not a paid employee! Should've gotten a basket at that point but was in a hurry. Went back got the 24" with mat carried that back up to the front. There was a line at this point. We all had to wait for awhile till another cashier came up. Someone was making an involved return so we all moved over to new cashier. Finally I get to conveyer belt lifted to onto that. I brought my kitty here for a bath. Kitty was too nervous for a bath, but they did brush her out really well. Kitty is a rescued feral cat and probably had never had a thorough brushing since she was pretty skittish. The staff was unable to bathe her because the sound of the water scared her. I've noticed people bash the petshotel/ doggy daycare in the past but I really have not had any bad luck with them. My heeler is extremely shy but also pretty low maintenance in terms of grooming and the level of human interaction he requires to be okay. I've been taking him to the petshotel and day camp since I adopted him four years ago. The staff all know him and I've actually shown up early to see one staff member giving him lots of one on one attention in the day camp room as he wasn't really interested in interacting with the other dogs. It was nice to see that they care so much even when they know the owners aren't watching. They also offer lots of add on services for your dog's stay so you can customize their treats, interactions with other dogs or staff, exercise, and grooming. I minus one star because wait times for check in and hold times to make reservations etc. can be extremely long. Their front desk is not manned consistently but I do believe its because they put the care of all the animals at the facility first. Everyone always looks busy! read more

This is a typical PetSmart location. We came here to buy food for my friend's cat, and they had what we were looking for. It is well stocked with pet treats, toys, cages, etc. They also have a grooming department and a small clinic that I have never used before. As is the case with many large retail stores, this location seemed to not be well staffed, which made it very difficult to get help. It also took a little while to check out, but when we did, we were provided great customer service by the cashier. Overall, it's a decent place, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd. read more

I made a reservation for Petsmart hotel on- line. The Petsmart computer system does not communicate with the Oracle & Wetmore facility. I called to get the fax number ( not listed) for vet to fax back vaccination record to find that 1) they have no working fax and 2) I had no reservation. I had to take in vaccination record and have the staff create a new account for me and a new reservation. Don't have on- line systems and encourage people to use them if the don't work. The staff apologized and said this happens all the time. Look for an alternative as this is unacceptable. read more

I have a 1 year old extreamly hyper active doberman, due to my small living area i needed some where for her to get some energy out and stay at the nights i had my wedding and honeymoon so I took her here to petsmart. 'First you guys are forcing my dogs to get a vaccine they don't need. My dogs don't need bortattela. If they get it they get the sickness. I would not recommend this business at all. You left all the dogs in a cage instead of feeding or taking care of them. You should care for other dogs and their health. My dogs are healthy. Dropped our Morkie off for a "trim" and specified to Natalie, the groomer, exactly what we wanted. Showed her on the hair graph, and specifically stated we didn't want him short because of winter. Also asked for a teddy bear face. Picked him up and he has less than 1/2 inch of hair on his body, his ears were not the same length and the hair on his face was uneven. We called to address, and were told by Natalie to bring him back to fix his face and ears and that we would get a full refund. Against better judgement, we returned the next morning to have his face and ears fixed, which was semi- satisfactory, however, we were told by management that we would not be receiving a refund, due to Natalie not having the authority to do so. I brought both my dogs in today for grooming,. I have been going to this store for the past ten years for pet hotel and grooming services even though it is far away from my house. It has always had good customer service until now. I explained that I had forgotten the rabies papers in my car and asked if I could leave them so I wouldn't have to walk them back and forth. One lady was explaining that I couldn't and I was ok with that, but the other lady,. I believe it was Courtney said in a very dismissive way,. Ma'm it's store policy that you can't leave them. Still I was like, ok,. I will go out and get the papers with them. So as I was coming back, one of the dogs collars got twisted and he was choking and couldn't get air, so I carried him back in. Then as I was concerned for my little dog getting twisted up in the leash again, I began to take his leash off, thinking I was helping them out and keeping him from choking again, and actually thinking of getting him a new collar that wouldn't do that. I explained that there was a problem with the collar and he had just been choking but she just kept repeating her store policy. First puppy bath experience I had here was spot on perfect. They quoted me 30 minutes with an appointment and my puppy was finished in less with every service done well. Second time I visited with appointment and they quoted me 2-3 hours and my puppy did not have all the services included. I called requesting to get his paw pads trimmed the following day and they told me nothing could be done because paw pad trims are "extra items to be requested on top of a bath service". When I took him home he was excessively shedding and didn't seem like he'd been brushed. He also didn't get a bandana. I'm assuming as these services weren't done his anal glands probably weren't taken care of either. These services state they're included online. One time I bought a hermit and when I got home i was CUT IN HALF I lifeless slip out of it's shell and I also have a ton of reptiles and I sometimes go there to get feeder crickets and I have two problems. One the workers are not trained and super rude like one time I went there and i asked for 20 small crickets and 20 big crickets and she gave me OVER 70 CRICKETS IN EACH BAG.
