A vet needs to remove the dead part of the tail and remove any more dying/infected tissue.

If you want to support local go to EEE. Tell everyone you know in the Tucson area not to support Desert Pet. I always heard terrible things about their animal care but today i experienced it first hand. I was looking at their reptiles when i saw a bearded dragon with severe tail rot that appeared infected. I was shocked and when I alerted a cashier they said, "oh yeah I saw that Saturday but forgot to say something". Then when informing a manager they were not concerned by this at all, they said they could sell it to ME at a discounted price but couldn't go lower than 49.99 and then said they would sell it full price to someone else. I was in tears leaving that poor baby behind because it's in desperate need of vet care that they seemed to have no intention of giving. Please, if you need animal supplies go to EEE, go ANY WHERE but here.

$2.59/lb for premium finch food. Would be $15-20 for 2lb bag at any other corporate pet store.

I get my dogs raw food here, the only place in town that carries Steve's Raw. The staff is always happy and helpful.

I took my 10-month-old Bernedoodle, Penelope, to PETCO Grooming on June 14 at 7am with Bella. This…read morewasn't her first grooming--she usually goes to Prickly Pup Grooming, where she's always well-behaved and treated with care, though their full-day schedule (8am-4pm) can feel a bit long. Hoping for a shorter appointment and maybe a lower price, I gave PETCO a try. Unfortunately, I ended up paying $30 more than usual and left feeling disappointed. Around 10am--June 14, I received a call from the groomer, Bella saying Penelope was agitated, barking, and even biting/snipping. This was shocking to hear--Penelope is a sweet, friendly pup who has never barked at a stranger, or been the least bit aggressive, even with my three young boys (10, 8 and 4) who aren't always gentle with her. I figured she might have been overstimulated in a new environment, so I came to pick her up, even though she was only half groomed. I was told I still had to pay but could return the next morning (June 15) for the salon manager, Jackie to finish the job. The next day's appointment went much smoother. Penelope looked great, smelled fresh, and even got a little bag of treats. She seemed happier and back to her usual self. But when we got home, my boys pointed out that there were small blood stains on her--initially, I assumed she was starting her first heat cycle and used dog diapers, but after a few days of seeing more blood (and none on the diapers), I finally did a full inspection and found a cut on her ear. It wasn't healing on its own, and after trying spray-on animal wound glue with no luck, we ended up needing a vet visit, a few stitches, and a cone to let it heal properly. I now believe the ear injury happened during that initial appointment with Bella, which might also explain her distressed behavior that day. What's most disappointing is that no one mentioned it to me--whether they missed it or just didn't want to admit it, I'll never know. I would have appreciated transparency, even if it was just an accident. Instead, I was left to figure it out myself after spending extra on products and a vet bill. The staff at PETCO were polite and professional, but unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling let down. I'll be returning to Prickly Pup for future grooming--longer appointments or not, I know Penelope is treated with care and consistency there.

First, we had to do a little shopping in the adorable boutique. Frita picked out a matching pink bandanna and birthday hat to wear to her big celebration (so cute)! She then sampled a new flavor for her of the doggy ice cream. It was the peanut butter with bacon bits on top and she definitely enjoyed it. It makes me so happy that I can do cute stuff with her in such a fun and aesthetic setting. And we wrapped up our trip by the amazing owner Celena helping us take birthday pictures in the photo area. I just love the murals and it's such a cool way to create awesome memories with my doggo that I'll cherish forever! I cannot recommend the store enough there's something there for everyone and it's such a fun little adventure to take your best friend on. We enjoyed celebrating Frita's fourth birthday there and are excited to have a fun place to celebrate all of her birthdays in the future!

It's located at the back northwest spot in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The signs for the entrance are easy to see. As I walked in I was greeted by the owner, and the space was bright, clean, and perfect for dogs! In fact, two dogs were having a blast there with their owners. Bark n berry not only has cakes, cookies; and ice cream for your best friend, they offer other goodies like CBD, treats, toys, and clothing. The owner gave me a tour and explained the back area was for birthday parties and special events. I ended up buying candles, a birthday cake, and some delicious dogie ice cream. It was the perfect go-to spot for celebrating our sweet dog. Pay this spot a visit if you'd like to treat your best friend!
