Their prices on bermuda and alfalfa pellets are very competitive compared to other tack shops in town, and the location is super convenient to my barn. While some items in the store can feel a little on the higher side, I think it's worth it for the selection, convenience, and the peace of mind of knowing they've got what I need most of the time. The store itself is packed with a huge variety of items--not only for horses, livestock, and pets, but also some fun things for humans too. They also carry new and used saddles (mostly western, with some English), and if your horse ever needs something for health or injuries, chances are you'll find it here. Holy Cow really is a one-stop shop, and it's quickly become my go-to place for everything horse-related.

My first memories of West Ajo include a purple horse brush that I desperately wanted to purchase so I could groom my horse, Patches. I saved up my allowance for weeks in order to purchase this amazing purple brush. When I got up to the counter, Chuck rang the brush up and, the child that I was, I had not accounted for tax. Embarrassed, I said I didn't have enough -- and I remember Chuck laughing, saying how unfair taxes were, and he told me to take the brush home anyways. I was approximately seven at the time and I'm now 30 and still remember this. This is the kind of feed store this place is. Heart and compassion. Family run. Amazing. West Ajo is a family run business that sells all kinds of different livestock feed with a smile, warmth, and the character that you won't see at chain stores. They don't sell toys and clothes in their store but if you come in asking "What is the best feed for my horse" they're going to be able to help you out. I'd take great advice, knowledge about their products, and the kindness they have over a chain store any day. Their prices are competitive. They have a decent selection. And they'll always be there for you if you have questions, need something, or want to post something on their awesome bulletin board. They also support the community and have donated to 4-H events, to the annual Tucson Poultry Pigeon and Fancy Fowl Show in November, and to many other events. Upon purchase, our fur baby already came with her first set of vaccinations, microchipped, AKC papers and about 2lbs of puppy food. The entire process was seamless and we couldn't be happier with our new baby. *Note: Make sure you make an appointment to see any of their animals! We made the mistake of just showing up, as we thought this business was set in a typical brick and mortar shop. Please do not support puppy mills. This "business" sells over 50 "breeds" - many of which are…read moredesigner mixes. "Hypoallergenic breeds" are just mixed breed poodle mixes. When breeding F1 puppies - the puppy gets one set of genes from each parent and the outcome can vary widely in a single litter in coat type, size and temperament. She is selling Merle Havapoos - neither Havanese or Poodle naturally carry the merle gene. They will try to say it's a recessive gene - it's not. Merle is introduced from another breed that naturally carries a Merle gene. When breeding for color, breeders will breed double Merle dogs which lead to health issues. Selling these mix breed dogs for $3,000 is crazy. This is how much I paid from an ethical purebred breeder who health tests all her dogs through OFA (which is the standard of health testing - and saying they are health tested by genetic testing or at the vet or through embark alone are sales tactics), offers free holter monitor testing for all her puppy buyers when puppies reach adulthood, embarks her puppies free of charge. Her dogs are proven through conformation titles and sport titles. I can meet the parents of my dogs (and have). I can look at our breed registry and track my dogs lineage. Most importantly my dogs didn't come from a mill. This business brags that she gets her puppies from "trusted USDA-licensed breeders" which simply means she's sourcing puppies from breeders who sell puppies site unseen, sell puppies to pet stores and who have a large quantity of breeding females. USDA standards are minimum care standards, not quality standards. They can have dozens or hundreds of dogs, breed frequently and keep dogs in kennel buildings and still pass USDA inspection. Many puppy mills are USDA licensed. Ethical breeders do not sell their puppies to pet stores. They want to vet their potential puppy buyers and make sure their dogs are going to homes that are a good fit. No ethical breeders breed doodles. It goes against the breed club for Poodles. No good breeder would allow their high quality poodle stock or the breed being mixed in, to make doodle mixes. This means that these parent dogs are being sourced from unethical breeders as well and it's poor breeding stock being used. Then, OFA health testing is not being done on these dogs. So people are mixing a lot of unknown genetics in for profit. They are not breeding with structure, health and temperament in mind. Ask about OFA health testing on both parents - they should be able to provide results on the OFA website from both parents. OFA has different tests for different breeds - please research what each breed should be tested for and request to see those results. Doodles should have tests for both breeds. Ask about registration - all dogs should be AKC registered if they are a purebred dog. Doodle registration is meaningless and anything other than UKC or AKC registration is a sales tactic. AKC registration alone does not equal quality. It just verifies pedigree eligibility. I would not consider a purebred dog that could not be registered through AKC, but just because they are AKC registered does not mean they are ethically produced. There are "designer registries" like: Continental Kennel Club (CKC -- not the Canadian one), American Canine Hybrid Club, Various doodle association. These registries do not enforce strict breeding standards, do not require meaningful health testing and mainly exist to create paperwork for marketing. Ask to meet the mother of the puppy you're interested in. Ask about tittles on the parents of the dogs that were bred. Ask about how many litters the mom has had.

I don't like leaving my dogs for 3-4 hours. Joleen said the landlord hasn't done anything to clean up the building. I know how that can be. If it were my business, I'd do some clean up in my own and make it look a little nicer. But she is very nice and I love the quality of grooming. I'll be going back for next grooming.

In fact the dog did not even get finished because the groomer didn't have the patience to do it at the end of the day. The dogs had no food or water the whole day and it was like 90° inside the building. She was overly aggressive and impatient with the dogs, not good with them at all!! Really sad! The dog is old and feeble already and because of the heat and being overly stressed, caused the dog to have seizures today which he has never had before. I would NEVER recommend them to anybody else and I will definitely not be coming back. If you love your dog, do not put them through this!

Winner's Circle Grooming is the most amazing place for my dogs; Zero & Vanilla Bean. My two little ones and very spoiled and do not always socialize well outside our home. However, they are so happy to be there and come back so so clean! I can't say enough of how wonderful of a job was done with my dogs. One has short hair & one has curly hair so they both have different needs. It is worth the drive to know that they are in such good hands!
