Aug 11 I had my chow chow groomed at Petco in our valley. I wrote a previous review, manager wrote he could not find it in his records. If he would contact me I could have given him my receipt. Anyways my chow was shaved( her main) and entire body except the tail? To me it looked like a poodle cut? Six hrs, and lady said she had experience cutting chow chows. I will Post a picture and you can decide. I am looking for a groomer who can properly cut chow chows. Thank you Barbara. My chow is Sandy girl. For their record if they care?

He doesn't look like a hamster!

Lisa did a fantastic job making my Fox Terrier and Sausage Dog Mix look adorable! I walked in the store and she was able to pencil the two boys into the schedule same day. Asked what Kind of service they needed and she delievered. We want to come back again. :)

The sick Chamaeleon who passed away

Absolutely heart broken On 4/8/22 a friend asked me to go check on a poor Chameleon and to take it home and try to nurse it back to health. I wish I would have listened. I went in on 4/16/22 8 days later and the poor thing was STILL in the enclosure with another Chameleon. The poor babies eyes were so sunken in and you could see every little breath was labored. I honestly do not know how the poor thing was still alive. I told an associate who told me he had seen the little baby and would tell his manager! He ALREADY saw it and had done NOTHING about it!? Why as a customer am I the one who should be walking in and doing health checks on animals in THEIR care. When the manager was told, her response was "he was active earlier" I never said the baby wasn't active and ACTIVE does NOT equal healthy! Both Chameleons in the enclosure were in poor health, the humidity was NOT where is should be by more then half, the water dripped was not working at all there was no water in the enclosure, and this was brought to the managers attention on 4/16. The manager did go and remove the worse looking chameleon from the enclosure thankfully. I went back today 4/17 on EASTER to check that the babies were taken care of and the dripper is still not working, there is still no water in the enclosure and I told the staff the night before of this issue. I asked about the welfare of the one that was taken back, and was informed he had passed away! The other chameleon is still in the enclosure. Why is this acceptable? This is a disgusting way to treat animals that are meant as pets. Even if the animals were sick when they showed up from the breeder, they should be kept in quarantine long enough to know if they were sick before being put out for the public! Customers also should never have to tell employees the animals are sick. It's their responsibility to take care of these animals until they find a home. So beyond heart broken.

    Dead

Throughout the summer they rarely had crickets in stock. The beta cups are dirty and there are several dead.

I have their "rewards" card and they mail you discount coupons. They live plant selection for aquariums is sometimes better than Petsmart. Also they will work with you if you forget to bring your coupon to the store ;)

We scheduled an initial appointment for private in-home training that was $150 and was listed to be up to an hour and a half. Following the payment, we received an email with the trainer's availability and requested a time within it. We then had to go back and forth to find a time that worked for the trainer. It would have been much more helpful to just receive a list of dates/times that were still available instead of just a general schedule for booking. Again, we weren't sure what to expect but got up bright and early for an 8:00am session in our home the morning after Thanksgiving. The trainer was 8 minutes late. I know that isn't a huge amount of time, but it was our first meeting and we were ready on time and waiting. We received some helpful tips on how to start working on the main concerns we had with our dog, but felt like we didn't receive clear instruction on what to do if the dog didn't do the command, etc. We contemplated booking more sessions, but ultimately decided against it for the amount of money we paid vs the information we received. Maybe dog training just isn't for us. Maybe we just didn't mesh with the trainer. This was our experience.

Garvin's Divine Dog Training - Ziggy with Karyn

    Garvin's Divine Dog Training

    (24 reviews)

Absolutely Life-Changing Training Experience with Karyn Garvin!…read more We cannot say enough wonderful things about Karyn Garvin and Garvin's Divine Dog Training. From the very first session, Karen's deep understanding of canine behavior and her calm, confident approach put both us and our dogs--Gracie and Stevie--completely at ease. Karyn worked with us on both obedience and behavior training, and the transformation has been nothing short of amazing. Thanks to her guidance, we can now take Gracie out in public with total confidence. She listens, stays calm, and responds beautifully to commands--something we honestly didn't know how to achieve before working with Karyn. What sets Karyn apart is her truly integrated approach. She doesn't just train dogs to obey commands--she taps into their natural desire to connect and please. With patience, insight, and positivity, she helped bring out the best in both Gracie and Stevie. It's clear that Karyn truly understands dogs, and her training methods are both compassionate and incredibly effective. We are so grateful to Karyn. If you're looking for a dog trainer who will treat your pet like family and help you build a lasting bond based on trust and respect, look no further than Garvin's Divine Dog Training. Karyn is simply the best!

We thought we knew dogs, having raised them for years. But when our daughter's job took her to a…read morebig city with a small apartment, we found ourselves struggling after adopting her dog. He's always been a great with us, but he was getting more and more aggressive with our neighbors and other dogs we would meet on walks or when people would come over. He's a rescue and DNA testing revealed pit, boxer and rottweiler in him. After a few close run-ins, we were at a loss on how to handle him and always anxious when we'd take him out. We decided we needed professional help. Met one trainer who came to our house, charged us $200 to basically give us a sales pitch and didn't even bother to meet our dog - we knew he hasn't the guy. Fortunately, we found Karen's number and had a good feeling when we talked over the phone. We had a follow-up in-person intro session and knew soon into that lesson she was the one for us so we signed up for a 10 session plan. And we are so glad we did. It's truly remarkable what she taught our dog and perhaps just as much, us. She always had well-thought out lesson plans that she would adapt to focus on our areas of concern. She took a holistic approach and spent a lot of time discussing tools & strategies with us that were perhaps just as helpful as the specific obedience training she did with the dog. She was always caring and humane, but also pragmatic and focused on results. By the end of the sessions, we were able to take him to the pet store where he was well-behaved around other dogs there. That was something I didn't think would ever be possible with him. Of course, he's still a big, intimidating dog. He's not a golden retriever, we still need to pay attention with him. But now we feel like we have what we need to avoid or de-escalate situations that before would have blown up on us. For "graduation", we did an outdoor hike with some big male dogs he just met. It was wonderful to see him able to enjoy the walk and be around other dogs without his hair constantly standing up or barking ferociously. Karen really knows what she's doing. We're so grateful she was able to help us get to a much better place with our dog.
