Tsunami Aquatics is one of those rare places that in its case isn't just a great fish store, it's a great store period. They have a terrific selection of obviously well-cared for fish. The tanks are clean, the water clear and there are no dead fish lolling about. They also have plenty of equipment for sale. The thing about this place that makes it even better is Chris, the fellow who is there most of the time. He knows everything about fish and is happy to share the information without condescending. It doesn't matter whether you are buying a guppy or a big expensive fish, he'll spend the time with you that you need, answer all your questions and never try to oversell you. If he makes a suggestion, it's because it'll make your set-up better. He'll also answer questions online, during or after hours. Might you find cheaper prices elsewhere? Maybe. But you won't get the great service, the fish that are quarantined before sale (hugely important because a fish that comes from a tank with diseases can knock off every fish in your tank) and the terrific, personally chosen selection. Tsunami Aquatics is the best fish store I've come into for freshwater fish. Great selection and great products on the shelf. Definitely has the best Plecos and Cory's around as well. The fish are cared for extensively and it shows in how healthy they are; this male killifish was bright and vibrant and sassy from the moment I brought him home (and his female is exactly the same). If you enjoy having your freshwater tanks stocked with healthy fish this is the place to shop. They prioritize fish from local breeders and do their best to never sell you a sick fish. Cleanliness is huge here too and I love that I don't have to look at dirty tanks with dead fish floating around like at other stores read more
