Nicole B is amazing. The only reason we've left here is because we've moved states, otherwise we would follow Nicole anywhere in Tucson. She knows exactly how I want my dogs hair cut and never fails to deliver. She's incredibly kind and I feel very comfortable dropping my dog off with her for several hours. I just got my puppy groomed her and am extremely upset!! I have been getting two of my dogs including her groomed at a PetSmart in Gilbert and have never had a problem! They always are ecstatic to see my dogs and fill out their progress reports all cute and tell me how they did. This progress report had little info on it. Which oh well that's fine. However..I went to pet my girl and she was still damp..okay fine whatever I get her home and her paw pads weren't taken down super short which I needed done and her trim is totally uneven! One side is longer than the other! And the hair is still long and her butt..I'm so upset this has never happened I explained what I wanted. This pet hotel location KILLED my dog Rufus in 2018 and I will continue to make people aware even to this day. Do not ever trust this store or any PetSmart with your beloved animals. Due to my dog ingesting plastic which was THEIR FAULT- they transported him to an emergency vet. The irresponsible worker did not transport him with his leash on or in a kennel. He got out of her grasp in the vet parking lot and ran into oncoming traffic. We lost our baby due to the negligence of this disgusting chain. Where do I start. I was the unfortunate soul that stepped in dog poop at this store. I get it. It happens. Not even mad. Except the employees acted like this was somehow my fault? I should have dog poop sensing radar? So I walked out of the store in my socks much to the chagrin of the employees that had failed to cordon off the aforementioned dog poo. If you are at high risk for Covid 19 do not step foot into this store as they do not practice suggested CDC guidelines. I went to this store last week. There was not a single employee following the suggestions to wear a face mask or keep the 6' distance in regards to Covid 19. Very few, if any, customers were following or encouraged to follow, by employees to follow these guidelines either. I don't expect perfect compliance, but I expect the employees to at least attempt to follow the CDC suggested guidelines, if nothing else, to wear a mask, sanitize their hands & check outs. I only went into the store as their website does not sell individual cans of the food I needed to buy & I wanted to compare pricing & other product facts. I will be avoiding Petsmart until it is safer to be out in their store, if ever. read more

There are some very nice employees here but unfortunately my experiences with one employee has ruined this store for me. Too bad its the closest PetSmart to our house. A month or two ago my boyfriend and I came in wanting to price match an item (dog food- $9 dollars cheaper) from Target, which on their website says you can do. The younger lady with black/blue hair (Carolina, I think) rudely told us that we couldn't price match from Target... only from chewy and petsmart.com. We were denied the price match but bought the dog food anyways because we didn't want to drive back to Target and didn't feel like arguing. Plus maybe the policy changed? We weren't sure. Today we needed to buy more dog food so we went in more confidently (after talking to PetSmart corporate about their price match policy) to price match the food. We would have just bought it from Target but we had a gift card to PetSmart and wanted to use it. The same girl was in the store but there was a different girl at the cash register we were checking out from. We showed this other, nicer girl what the website says and showed her the price from Target but she needed to ask the blue-haired girl as I think she was the manager. She told us (again, rudely) that she couldn't authorize the price match. We left without buying the food and went to a different location 20 minutes away that said they do price match to Target. I understand that the the blue-haired lady may have had strict orders from her management not to price match to Target (even though that's not PetSmart's policy??) but she did absolutely nothing to try to help us and was rude/condescending from the get-go. She didn't even care what the PetSmart website had to say. We weren't being rude or trying to do anything outside of what PetSmart guarantees and openly advertises on ads and their website. We know we can get the dog food cheaper at other PetSmarts now who follow the corporate policy so we will not be returning to this location. It's just unfortunate that this one is closest to our home. I hope the management at this store will read up on the company's policies so they can better serve their other customers. read more

Do not board your dog here. I boarded my 6 month old puppy for 6 nights in July 2012. When I left him he loved people and as most puppies do would jump up on people. After I picked him up he was terrified of people and would duck when you reached for his head. He was clearly stressed by this experience. It was clear someone did something to him. It took my 6 months of work to rebuild his trust in strangers. Sicne that time I have boarded at Camp Bow Wow in Catalina and he is a happy boy! read more

My dogs love coming to daycamp and the grooming salon. Their favorite bathers are Ashley and Lloyd! I know they are nervous with their paws being touched, but somehow these guys at the salon always manage to do their grooming service, nails included. Wouldn't dare take them to another petsmart. I also love this store. They always have what I need. And I don't ever feel like a burden when I drop my dogs off at the hotel or the grooming salon. read more

My Fiancee has a Cat and I stopped in last week to get some Blue Buffalo cat food. I love to look into the fish tanks whenever I'm at a pet store. This Petsmart is by far the best Big Box pet store I've ever been in. They had many many tanks, and they all looked fairly well looked after, There were a couple dead fish in their tanks but that's pretty usual in Petco's and Petsmart's but no where near as many as I normally expect. They even had a small selection of submersed aquatic plants, I normally only see the big box stores with the immersed plants in the tubes. I like to support small business' when I can, but I have to say I was impressed. read more

I have vowed never to return to this location ever again. The fish while being cheap have consistently infected my tanks with Ick! I also had some problems making returns, I called ahead and talked to the manager (who remembered me) and asked if i needed to bring in a receipt for what i bought (they said i didnt need it), when I got there a different manager refused my return. this location is a good 20-30min from my house, causing me to waste about 2-3 hours that day making the return. the OTHER Petsmart location is much more friendly and they remember me! read more

The man who handed the fish mistreats them and is incredible my rough with them. I have an established tank and one of the cory catfish died immediately because he injured it. Has knowledge of fish as he has 6 tanks but tells you to essentially starve your bettas and cory catfish and says gravel is okay for cory's, which it isn't (hurts barbells). It would have been 5 stars if I had not had to wait 15 minutes for help. It seemed short staffed; there was just one person available and she was with another customer. However, once the very knowledgable and customer-oriented sales person (her name is Carolena) was able to help me, I was glad I waited. She was fantastic! She apologized for the wait several times and then gave me her full attention helping me pick out a fish tank and other things. Carolena really knows her stuff and educated me far beyond anywhere else I have bought fish. She gave me literature and answered every big and little question I had. Carolena rocks and will have me returning for her advice in the future. Petsmart Oracle and Wetmore should be proud of this employee. read more

I have to say overall a find place to bring your pet. I'm typically not big chain kind of person, but when it comes to the care of my pet , I'm going to make sure to do what's best. I really like the convenience of the one stop for food, toys and having a vet. The vets here are very caring and knowledgeable. They take the time to listen to your questions and they take your concerns seriously. Baxter is never happy to have to go, but it's nice to know he's in good hands. The only place I will take a star away is for floor service. I feel like I have to search to find someone and they are often busy. Slightly understaffed. read more

As much as I'd like to support local businesses, they're usually booked up when I call or don't open as early/frequently as PetSmart. Here, Amanda and Codi did a great job grooming Tiberius and Kingsley, especially since Tiberius gets so agitated whenever someone comes near him with so much as a Furminator. They were also careful with Kingsley's dangling right ear (which was partially strangulated in the past), and managed to make it look neat without irritating it. It is a bit pricier than other options (especially with Tiberius' handling fees), but again I appreciate the convenience of being able to have my dogs groomed on such short notice. read more

First time boarding my shitz tzu dog. Never again, I don't think she slept last night, all she is doing after we picked her up was sleep and drink water. I don't think they gave her water. In the 6 hours she is home she drank a 16 oz bottle of water, a 9 lb dog? We watched her in the day camp area, and she just sat there scared, no interaction with other dogs, but they told her in Her report card she played all day, don't think so, I called and checked on her and they told me she wasn't interacting with the other dogs, so who's lying? Then we asked for a bath which I was quoted $15 but when we picked her up they said it was $29.99 because she has hair. Lying again... Don't bring or board your dog here, nothing but lies. read more

We've been taking our Yorkie "Bella" to Nicole who is her groomer ever since we got Bella. Bella is now 9 months old. Nicole is AWESOME! I like how we get report cards on how Bella did with Nicole. Being new to dog ownership we didn't know who to take her to. We are so lucky for PetSmart to have people like Nicole working for them and we are lucky to have found her. The coordinate his grooming appointments to make sure he gets the most out of doggy day camp. I took my poodle in once because he was looking scruffy and I wasn't able to fit him in at his usual. The groomers here were iffy. One was still learning and seemed kind, the other was just unfriendly. She seemed like she didn't care for her job at all. I wanted his ears cleaned because he's a poodle and his ears are other worldly hairy, and need lots or cleaning to prevent infection. I got the package that had ear cleaning. They didn't clean his ears, and didn't tell me either. At least tell me so I can do it when we get home. I was just overall unimpressed by them. I want my dog to be groomed by someone who loves and cares for animals so much it shows in their interactions. If your dog needs a bath or a haircut, go to a groomer salon. Your dog deserves better. better than this location at least. read more

I barely walked in the door and my asthma started to bother me. I am allergic to dogs, but I never imagined a visit to a pet FOOD store would be a problem. Wrong! The stench was truly hideous! I just needed some cat food and headed towards the aisle where it was, but was forced to leave before I could make my purchase. My eyes were streaming and my lungs were shutting down. Haven't these people ever heard about cleaning the air filters? Not to mention the urine reek on one aisle I passed! All I can say is that they were lucky I left because they would have had a massive hospital bill to pay if I had collapsed inside. Or perhaps death benefits to my family. People die of asthma attacks every year. "Pet friendly" stores are NOT people friendly if they are not kept clean. read more

I would not recommend this place for big dogs. The playrooms are too small. The staff is not trained well. They will put your dog in a kennel and not with the other dogs , so as far as exercise and socialization goes, it just isn't happening. On the first really hot day this year, the electricity went out at the store and when I went to get my dog at 5, the store was very hot and dark. They were not going to let me in to get the dog but finally did. My dog was very hot and distressed as she had been in a hot cage in the dark for over 5 hours. I figured this was fluke but then recently another dog attacked my dog and they put my dog in a cage for the day. So then the next time I get a call and they put my dog in a kennel because she was not getting along with the small dogs. Now I know my dog and she plays and loves small dogs and is very gentle. I think they just take too many dogs and don't have the staff nor the training to handle the crowded conditions. I should have learned my lesson after the handling of the outage, finally got it, three strikes you are out. I will never subject my dog to this place again read more

I have been raising freshwater tropical fish for over 35 years. Every time I step in this store, I am appalled to see so many diseased fish are left untreated. Almost every tank is contaminated. This store is selling these sick fish to unsuspecting customers who dont know any better. They buy these fish and spend good money; take them home; and put them into their aquariums. Doing this will kill your entire aquarium. PetsMart is always doing this. Whenever I mention most of their tanks are full of sick fish, I get a deer in the head lights stare and no comments from the little ding bat sales clerks. No explanation or concern. Then they try to tell me the fish are healthy. I point out the sick fish right to them, which it is easy to spot, and they could give a crap. I wont spend a single penny on ANY fish at this Pets Mart. I spot bacterial infections, Ick, Fin/Tail Rot. These are highly contagious diseases that will kill the fish and any others introduced. These stores circulate the same water in all the aquariums, which circulate all the diseases. They do nothing to remedy this problem and still sell sick fish. They will tell you they have a guarantee to refund your money on any fish that dies in a few days; however this wont do much when your whole tank gets sick and your investment is ruined, because of the store's incompetence. Buyer beware. Once they get your other fish sick with one of their sick ones, you will spend a ton of money medicating and even having to start the tank all over again when all your fish get sick and die. read more

PetsHotel--I wouldn't use it for boarding as it's essentially crating. The doggy daycare experience has been lackluster and I'm not convinced the folks working there actually like animals. My dog is a fan of daycare and doesn't like it here...I've tried multiple different times (one of which he was lying in a corner completely disengaged). Daycare is only from 9-5 (maybe 8-5?) so the rest of the time he'd be in a crate, which I'm not willing to do so I end up having less time to do work/errands. It's less expensive than other options, but I'd rather have my pup go to daycare less often and have a blast. Pet training--I signed up for the intro package and was disappointed, although the instructor I had has since 'left' so I can't comment on the current instructor. Generally the PEtSmart approach is incredibly generic and not anything I didn't know already from reading a clicker-training book (this is my first dog), but if you're not confident or want to have an inexpensive intro to training it's reasonably priced. General store--Acceptable. Again, not sure the employees (especially 90% of the cashiers) actually like animals...but that could be a reflection of management/corporate rather than the individuals. I haven't had experience with other PetSmarts to be able to compare. read more

My daughter took her pup in for a monthly beautymakeover, had always been satisfied with the groomer and price but his time they lost her dog's collar and argued that he never had a collar when he came in. My kid knew the dog had the collar as she walked him in with a leash. After 20 minutes or back and forth with the asst mgr then on the phone with the real mgr, later they reviewed video cameras and agreed the dog had a collar. duhh, really you think people would make this must effort to rip you off for a stupid collar worth $10.00 ? She had been spending $50.00 per month up til that day. Well you lost all the dogs in the family due to treating my daughter so badly over something so stupid. We now go to Pet Co and have been very happy. read more

I am normally in love with this pet smart, but I brought my dog in to the vet about some mouth sores it was the Oral Papilloma Virus and not "an issue" I told the vet that I was taking him to daycare the next day he said nothing, I asked if it was contagious he said not to worry. So the next day I took him to day care and once I had dropped him off and got to work they told me I had to pick him up or leave him alone in a kennel all day and pay 17 bucks. WHAT? So the vet screwed up told me wrong things and you want me to pay or leave work? I am sorry but no this is not good customer service and I am not going to that vet again. read more

I absolutely love Petsmart's Doggie Day Camp. My 9 month old boxer puppy just came home from 5 hours of all play time and she is pooped. The associates cater to your needs (medication, food, toys etc) if you need, you just have to tell them. And the price is awesome, $12 for any time under 6 hours and $18 over 6 hours. By the way they open at 7am, play time starts at 9am and they close at 9pm. I will definitely be going back. read more

This is a two part review. Part 1 - the pet hotel, Part 2 - the grooming salon. Part 1 - The Pet Hotel - The staff at the hotel are great! My two dogs love going in for day camp, where the staff plays with the dogs pretty much all day. My pets don't even mind going in for an over night stay at the pet hotel. The staff is always friendly and willing to go out of their way to make you that you as the pet parent are just as comfortable as your pet. When they have goofed up, they have gone out of their way to right their wrongs. I highly recommend the hotel. Part 2 - The grooming salon. - It's awfull! There really isn't a nice way to put it. We have sent our dogs to the salon 2 times, and both times we spent a good chunk of change, and both times we were greatly disappointing. Their "Spa" day packages seem like a good deal, so we had friends coming into town and didn't have time to bathe the dogs. Therefore, we had them go in for a "spa day." When picked up the dogs, they were dropping hair everywhere - I was petting them while in the store and I was able to pet hair out of their fur. The next day, the dogs smelled like they had rolled in garbage overnight. Both times we have had similar results - still smelled, dirty feeling, etc... When I mentioned this to the staff, I was blown off and didn't even get an apology. My dogs will never go to the salon there again. For the Pet Hotel I give them 5 stars for the pet hotel, but 2 for the salon. Overall 4 stars - but only because of the hotel. read more

Took my short haired German Pointer to Petsmart in Tucson Az Wetmore and Oracle store to play at doggie daycare and they wouldnt take him because a girl with little training said he looked like he might have pitbull in him. I explained that 3 vets said he is pointer and heeler mix. They wouldnt let my dog around any of the other dogs based on what she thought. He is non aggresive, good with kids, puppies, cats, dogs. Any ideas about inside doggie day camps for people in AZ. It is so hot, but I want him to be able to play during the day. read more

The selection has expanded considerably since I've been shopping here. I have a finicky allergic-to-beef-products princess and my last visit to PetSmart left me very happy with the non-traditional selection. Elk antler bones? Duck jerky? Nylabone extra long-lasting? I have been a PetSmart customer for several years. I have used thier grooming, boarding and dog training services on consistently throughout the last 25 years. I could always count on the PetSmart employees to take care of my dogs and provide excellent service. Unfortunately, this has recently changed. Everytime I visit the store located on Oracle road in Tucson Arizona, the employees act as if they are doing me a favor by letting my dog stay there. I either hear how they are so busy and how lucky I am to have my dog to stay or when I pick him up how much of a difficulty he has been. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the feedback when it is constructive and helpful. However, when I take him to two other petcare facilities and they tell me what a joy he is (even when I press for feedback) I have to wonder what is going on at PetSmart. Thier major selling point seems to be convienience. You can get everything in one place, veterinary care, boarding, grooming and supplies. That is great if you want mediocre service and criticism from your pet store. They have become the Circle K of the pet industry. Like many other companies they seem to have outgrown thier most important offering, customer service. read more
