Short Review: Local spot for really good Mediterranean food…read more Plenty of room for large groups. Friendly staff. Long Review: Found this place on a whim through my fellow Yelpers. Had lunch with a friend who I knew loved Mediterranean food, and this place did not disappoint. The menu is rather simple, with variations of the few meat dishes on there, so that's the variety. On a recommendation from the waitress we both ordered the lamb chops, and I gotta tell you they were the best I've ever had. Hands down. I highly recommend you get them. Don't let the shopping center location fool you. It's nestled in the corner of a strip mall featuring 7/11 on one side and a gas station on the other. Not a lot of parking, since it's all shared, but do t let that deter you. I'd go back here anytime.

The bakery and restaurant share the same parking lot as Trader Joe's and I had no issue finding an available parking spot on Saturday afternoon. [Atmosphere & service]: There is a mural with two people baking saj bread and there are about half a dozen tables for in-person dining. I placed an in-person order and unfortunately the service was very slow. I eventually got my order after waiting close to 15 minutes despite the lack of customers. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Chicken Shawarma, Beef Shawarma, and Spinach Pie. They also have a display case of various baked items. Other items they sell here include Mediterranean specialty pizzas, plates (e.g. lamb gyro), Mediterranean breakfast, and flatbreads. *** Beef Shawarma Wrap (Beef, spread of hummus, fresh tomatoes, onions, and tahini sauce rolled and pressed to a crunchy toast - $18.00): The order came with two wraps. The filling was gooey and messy, but it had a very distinct flavor profile. Not too bad at all. Mini Spinach Pie (Raw spinach mixed with diced onion and sumac herb - 1 piece $2.00): It was not my cup of tea as it tasted very sour. *** A solid 3.5-star for the wrap, but bumped down due to inefficient service.

This was my first time there, and the owners were incredibly nice and welcoming. They were genuinely excited to hear that it was my first visit and took the time to give me some great recommendations. You can really feel that this is a family run business where they care about both the food and their customers. Everything we tried was delicious, but the Mannaish with cheese & soujouk was definitely a standout, so flavorful and tasty! The stuffed cheese Mannaish was also fantastic. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and you can tell they put a lot of care into what they make. It's always nice to find a place where the food is great AND the people are genuinely warm and welcoming. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. Thank you to the owners for such a great first experience! Definitely a place I'd recommend.

I even asked the worker if I could try a piece and she kindly cut me a sample. It was soft, moist, and delicious. I also tried a few savory items, they were good, just a bit too oily for my taste. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. The blonde, blue-eyed woman who helped me was so kind and sweet. It's honestly refreshing going into an Armenian bakery and being met with warmth and friendliness.

Mediterranean food is pretty consistent (ie the same) for my tastes wherever I get it so I was pleasantly surprised by a few elements of Pi. The pies, for example...I tried the Zaatar pie...honestly it was not much more then a thick, airy, freshly made pita with Zataar and olive oil on it...but it's sometimes the simplest things which delight. The Zaatar pie delighted. I tried the Lebanese red wine (I mean, when in a Lebanese restaurant, why not?) And it stood up to any red I'd had anywhere else. The Tabouleh (one of my Mediterranean standards) was fresh made, filling, and a nice companion to the heavier Zaatar pie. It was awfully nice, and unexpected, to get complimentary baklava at the end of the meal...2 generous sized pieces which were pretty indulgent and eliminated the need to get (and pay for) dessert there or anywhere else. Service was lovely...the manager or owner took care of us and made us feel he was truly grateful that we were there. It's also a hookah spot...so if you're not into that vibe or smoke of any kind, (I'm not really) you'll definitely smell that anywhere you are in the restaurant, even if you're not seated next to those using hookahs. If you've got a hankering for Mediterranean...especially a place that has some unique things not at other Mediterranean spots, definitely give Pi on Sunset a shot.

Unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. The sandwich was extremely unappetizing. The bread was soggy and falling apart, and the filling looked and tasted like it had been sitting out way too long. It didn't feel fresh at all, and several of us couldn't even finish it. The fries were even worse, they tasted stale, like they were at least a day or two old, and had that chewy, reheated texture instead of being crispy. Definitely not something anyone would want to eat.

Three of them have two chairs each, while the others have 4 chairs. The menu is laminated and comes with numerous mediterranean dishes, and yes, there are kabobs. I chose the beef lule kabob entree, that comes with two minced kabobs, rice, grilled tomato, jalapeno and a very small cucumber tomato salad, some hummus too, all plated together. I also ordered their thick yoghurt with shallots to accompany the menu item. The Kabobs were grilled to order, could have used more flavor and were slightly overcooked. Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow. I would go there specially to get the lentil soup alone, to go. Service here was high class, attentive and friendly. Definitely, worth a repeat visit.
