I had a good laugh reading at all the reviews here that waxed philosophic about how the owners are due for a guest spot on "Horders" or something. I couldn't figure out if they were swinging by for bike advice or a makeover!? I've been to Angle Lake twice. The first time, I too was a little surprised to see the shop slightly resembled Santas Workshop a few days before Christmas. After a few minutes of talking to Dale (owner) I knew I had come to the right spot and found a kindred spirit. I say kindred spirit, cause at times my office, car, and life can look a little like organized confusion, but I always know where things are. This is how Dale struck me. On the second visit, the shop looked transformed and much tidier and I joked with Dale that I had been treated to a Cat in The Hat before and after cleanup! Anyway, I digress. Dale deals heavily in two passions of mine: recumbent and folding bikes.......both of which typically cost considerably more than conventional bikes. On my second visit, I arrived around 4:45 pm ( they close at 6:00 pm) and proceeded to pick Dales brain about my planned several thousand dollar recumbent bike purchase and the pros and cons of competing modlels he carried. By the time we were done, I'd narrowed my choice down to two different models and realized it was now 6:45 pm. I asked if the shop didn't in fact close at 6:00 pm and Dale just smiled and shrugged! He was more concerned about treating me as a valued customer than pushing me out the door at closing time like most places nowadays. So, there you have it. If you are in the market for quality service, expert advice, and an impressive inventory of top brand bikes by a family owned proprietor, you can't go wrong. If on the other hand you wandered in there looking for a makeover, I'll warn you in advance that you'll be disappointed. read more
