I ordered the Pastrami Arthur Ave Style through Uber Eats. The sandwich starts at $20.95, and nearly every addition--including lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard, mayo, pickles, and oil and vinegar--came with an extra charge. I wasn't willing to turn a pastrami sandwich into a nearly $40 investment just to add vegetables, cheese, and a few sauces, so I ordered it as it came, which was with pastrami and mustard. The fresh bread was good, and the pastrami was clearly the highlight. It tasted high-quality and was cooked well. But the sandwich itself felt sparse to me, especially since there was very little mustard on it. I like sandwiches with cheese, vegetables, and different sauces, so pastrami and a light swipe of mustard simply wasn't enough to make the sandwich interesting for me. Thank you, yelpers who listed and shared their experiences, bc we are agog in the best meal-at-a-gas-station kind of way. Because of y'all we knew there was no seating and instead of driving all the way home first, already planned to eat it in the car while it was fresh. Whole place is the now-typical upgraded gas station which looked swept, stocked, and the restroom was clean on a weekday afternoon. While I was in the ladies', Mr R placed the order and paid at Angellis window. I came out and grabbed drinks for us, paying at the general register, and we stood near the service window to await our lunch. There's no seating but there is enough space to have several folks gather without feeling awkwardly crushed together. As we waited a reasonable length of time listening to kitchen chatter, I smiled and whispered to Mr R "you hear that accent? You're about to have a great ****ing sandwich!" There aren't a ton of vegetarian options, but I had no fear bringing Mr R here because the mighty caprese hero was listed--they also do pizza. Myself, I opted for sausage and peppers (peppers and eggs would be another great and representative meatless Italian option, but if it ain't broke don't fix it). Everyone in the window was busy and friendly and sent us off with high hopes. Back in the car with the AC blasting, we opened foam clamshells to find the loveliest crispy outside/moist crumb inside loaves with the right amount of filling. You know, the proportion that is a sincere pleasure to eat without the inevitable messy dry cleaning disaster or a two inch desert of dry bread at either end of your sandwich. The flavor on the peppers and onions was perfect. Someone had taken their time and let them sing. If I were a pepper I'd want to go out that way. Good flavor and texture on the sausage, no struggle with casing. The only problem with this sandwich is I didn't order two more to take home for later. We were two exceedingly happy customers who couldn't shut up about how good that meal was all the way home. Mr R is concerned how long they will be nearby before successfully launching a place of their own and likely farther away. We wish them the best luck but I doubt they need much help, they have this down. Our sandwiches after tax/before tip were $25 and a further $5 for our gas station beverages. Hubby saw this place on Google and he wanted to try it, so we stopped today. It's inside of a gas station but you will see if from the door. They were out of the meatballs and pastrami at 1:30 pm so you know those are really good! I got a teflon don and it is GOOD! Hubby got the Ham and Swiss and it is also good! The bread tastes like it is homemade. The person who served us had an accent so it could have been the owner. All I know is that we are hooked! This is our new sandwich place. It has taken the place of of Thunderclouds for our family. read more

The food here is excellent!! My new York born husband said the pizza is as close to as good as pizza from New York as he's had in Texas. The meatball parmesan and chicken parm sandwiches are delicious with incredible bread! The ham on the ham and cheese is delicious too. The owner is a native Brooklynite. Nico and Antony are so attentive and helpful. Now it IS in a gas station. So not really a place to eat at. But perfect to take away!! So Granted, it's literally in a Bread Basket Gas Station. This dude is actually from Brooklyn. His name is Nico and Accent (non-fake) and all. He's 100% authentic down to the way he says "pastrami". This humble yet confident sand-which maker, made us feel comfortable to ask questions and he was open and honest about his craft. In terms of ambiance, it's a gas station, but like in New York it would probably be a side Bodega. We ordered 1.) Chicken Parm Cutlet - Legit the best Chicken Parmesan I have ever had. 2.) Italian Grinder- Teflon Don - Legit the best Italian Grinder I have ever had, move the hell over Home Slice ...lol- Nico knows how to season and cut meat. 3.) Hot Pastrami with Mustard- Yeah this was goooooood, not sure what kind of mustard but this reminds me of Katz Deli 4.) Cannolis- Homemade- not too sweet, perfectly balanced It reminds me of the Italian bakeries in New York. Dear lord man, I have no idea how this guy got down to Kyle Texas of all places but this is by far the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. This business is located inside a gas station that had a filthy unkept restroom. No pic. Should chicken be sitting out like this? The food was not bad tasting but was lukewarm. Two sandwiches cost $35 chicken parm and 2 meatballs in the meatball parm. Prices a bit high for what we got. It's a fairly new establishment but not a great start. The sandwiches from Angelli's of Brooklyn are fantastic. If you long for an authentic Italian sandwich you will not go wrong with Angelli's of Brooklyn. They use freshly baked bread which really elevates their sandwiches. Though we did not try their pizza, we are certain their pizza is a good as their sandwiches. The next time we need a pizza fix we will definitely get ours at Angelli's of Brooklyn. And they have freshly made cannoli too! The sandwich shop is owned by two brothers from Brooklyn whose accents make you feel you are standing in the middle of New York. The brothers are as authentic as their sandwiches. Both are nice guys. This sandwich shop is worthy of being in a free-standing location, but for now, it's located inside a Chevron gas station at 175 N Old Sagecoach Road. Their sandwiches are the best in Kyle.
