24APR26 Mr R in town…read moreand having saved up his cheat points for weeks to indulge in a meat entrée (per medical diagnosis), I had a short list of places that were worthy. El Calentano is worthy. For $16 before tax you get half a chicken that has been brought to perfection over a smoky fire. Crisp skin and meat falling off the bone with some rice, beans, tortillas, salsa verde with kick, and a garnish of both raw and grilled onions AND jalapeños. We split it between two moderately hungry adults and were satisfied. It is simple, it is solid, and for $16 it is a great deal.

As always, she made a great call. The chicken was wonderfully seasoned, had the right level of smoke, and was nearly melt-in-your-mouth tender and juicy. The rice had just the right level of seasoning, and the beans also had a wonderful combination of animal fat, peppers, and onions. Seriously, this was so good, and the meal also came with cooked and raw onions, as well as with cooked and raw jalapeños. Everything was ready within ten minutes, and the person working the truck was friendly and helpful. Not only was the meal incredibly delicious, but it fed two adults for right at twenty dollars. Seriously recommend.

This is the…read morebest way to go about stepping up your childhood and adding some savory and juicy protein in your sandwich. Chunk Deuce BBQ is a Veteran-owned food truck, and it was super cool getting to learn more about Adam (the owner) and how this is a true family affair. Reminded my of my days of helping my parents at our family businesses while growing up. Not only will you be able to snag some damn good bbq, but you can even snag a sno-cone to fulfill the inner child in ya. Back to the grilled cheese though-- the crispy, buttery, Texan bread slices were met with the most gooiest amount of cheese. Stack some brisket into the sandwich and get ready for a delicious yet hearty meal. I recommend adding some bbq sauce on the side so you can have a dippable moment. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely be back for another one. Prices are super reasonable btw!

I had the shredded brisket taco, just naked beef and tortilla, and the meat was moist, smoky and tender. Who needs sauce or sides when the meat is this good. The plates are generous helpings and everyone enjoyed their food. Little Lollie loved the shaved ice for dessert! Outstanding old fashioned barbeque!!
