I came here because my friend said it was good. So far, I haven't found a place in San Marcos that has decent boba. I asked the cashier what his favorite drink was and he said the Taro Cream boba, so I got that. Taro Cream boba- I got it with 25% sweetness and it was WAY too sweet. I can't imagine how it would even taste if it was 100% sweetness. It did taste like taro and cream, but the sugar was WAYYY too much for me to even like this drink. I'd never get this drink again, but I would any drink that doesn't have tea at 0%. The boba was more on the squishy side which I didn't mind. Overall, I would not voluntarily come here again. I'm new to the San Marcos area and wanted to try something new and stumbled upon Teapioca :) First walking in I was a little overwhelmed with the drink selection because they have so many options, but was politely greeted by a sweet girl in the front who was able to help me out and narrow down my selection to the drink I would most enjoy, which was a vanilla butterfly tea with half and half and it was delicious! While waiting for my tea I was able to talk justin, the man making my drink, and he was able to inform me even more about the whole company and what they offer besides just drinks which I've come to find out is more then expected! Overall the service was great, everyone was super nice and the store was super clean and very inviting and I would highly recommend this location, definitely coming back! read more

However, this particular location had the "we're out of boba" sign on the door both times I stopped by (months apart), which kind of stinks because... well it's the best part of a boba drink. I went to this location of Teapioca lounge with my son. I had never had boba before and I was a little bit nervous about trying it. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff and bright colors. They were very knowledgeable and helped me to pick the drink that I wanted to try, which was blue in color which I thought was pretty cool and reminded me of some thing out of Star Wars. The drink was delicious and Justin and the staff were super informative and helpful. Best of all, it was clean and inviting and although there was a small line, they worked quickly and we hardly had to wait at all. I used to come here multiple times a week when I lived fully in San Marcos, but a couple times here and there will have to suffice now since we don't have this bad boy in college station!! I remember coming here the day it opened ( I ordered a frozen Carmel coffee ) and I've loved it ever since ! My top 3 favorites are : strawberry smoothie , frozen coffee drinks, or the pineapple smoothie !!! They all taste so dang fresh and are super reasonably priced coming in at about 4 dollars . The vibe of this place is also super cool and welcoming ! I loved this place it was so cute and clean. The menu is very big and there's so much to choose from. The girls who work there have the best makeup and they're super friendly. I got the thai tea, and I should've just gotten it with boba. I got the boba madness or whatever it comes with basically every topping they have. Used to really like coming here, but lately the customer service has greatly declined. The shift lead was nice at the register, but then when making drinks began swearing loud enough for people to hear, saying "wasting my m*th**fu**ing time". (while there were young children in the store) The two girls on shift were speaking poorly of numerous customers they'd come in contact with, gossiping, and they made my drinks incorrectly(again). When I politely mentioned this, they loudly copped an attitude. They then decided to talk crap about me with me less than 5 feet away. The best part is I tipped them too. Incredibly unprofessional, will not be back. The store is beginning to look unkempt and dirty as well. Won't be getting my money anymore. read more

Oof. I never really liked the Teapioca Lounge locations that are at Austin, but I still decided to give the San Marcos location a try. I left disappointed by their snowyn chocolate dessert. There's plenty of parking, and the interior is fairly quiet as long as no large groups of students are present. I had the snowyn chocolate dessert. It was hands down the worst shaved ice product I've had. Shaved ice is supposed to be a refreshing dessert, but the chocolate ice tasted like it was doused with some hershey's chocolate syrup. No hint of milk nor condensed milk that shaved ice usually has. The drinks here are all over the place too. They offer way more drinks than a usual bubble tea shop. That's fine and dandy, but Teapioca Lounge does not excel at any of them from the couple that I have tried before. I wouldn't recommend this place. I wish that Kung Fu Tea at north LBJ stayed open so that I have access to better bubble tea at San Marcos. read more

It was overly sweet and had a weird buttery taste to it. I would NOT recommend this drink. They have a selection of teas and they have cream teas but no true milk teas at this place. I recently discovered this place when I finished a long shopping day in San Marcos and was craving a mango smoothie but didn't want to pay $7+ for a Haagen Dazs one at the outlets. Yelp saved the day when I searched smoothies and came upon this place. First off, they have a huge menu including bubble tea and many smoothie varieties - even avocado or oreo! I saw mango and was elated. If you're familiar with Snow Monster in Austin, it looks like they offer the same desserts which they call Snowyns milk flurries. They have tv's and board games so you're welcome to stay a while it seems. It's a great setup for students looking for a place to study as well. I wish this place had been around when I was at Texas State. There were quite a few people inside but the wait wasn't long at all. My smoothie was as delicious as I'd hoped and had the cutest Hello Kitty picture on the seal. The smoothie was really big, should've noted the size, but more than I would've gotten at Haagen Dazs and was half the price. Unfortunately I can't hit up this place every day like I'd want to, living in North Austin, but they did tell me there are two Austin locations - one in South Austin in Southpark Meadows and one off 35 & Palmer. My quest to be the duchess of every Teapioca Lounge location continues :) If you're interested in my thoughts about the tea and food offerings here, I recommend you read my very in-depth reviews on the Parmer Lane and Round Rock locations, as this is a franchise and most of the recipes are the same. I wanted to use this review to speak more specifically about the customer service. The folks who work here are great! They're always ready with a joke and a smile every time I walk in, and they work so freaking hard. Most of the time it's only 1 or 2 workers in the store, even during peak hours, but they still work super fast and accurately. I've only had one mishap, when I was given a Cream Green Tea instead of a plain Jasmine Green Tea, but that could very well have been fault for not specifying. The best thing? MY BOBA TEA FIX IN AUSTIN is now here in San Marcos! Come here if you're looking for something to cool your thirst in this hot Texan heat. I always get a melon cream shake with boba in it, but you can choose from a myriad of flavors & toppings... bottomings... things to compliment your drink. I highly recommend trying different ones out. They're all fun! The interior is smaller than their North Austin location. They could use with some more chairs and furniture, but that didn't impend my friends and me from enjoying our boba on their sofa situation. The staff were extremely friendly, and everything was clean. They have wifi, just ask for the password. The location is pretty convenient for me to grab a quick drink right before I hit the freeway to go home from school, or vice versa - a treat before class. I don't know what else to say about this magical place. That I'll be going here like every chance I get after my school finishes for the day? That I will die from boba overdose? I came here with my boyfriend near the beginning of this whole Covid-19 mess. Glad they were still open. I got a pomegranate smoothie that was soooo good. I got some of the colorful jellies to. My boyfriend got a pineapple slushie but he wished he got a smoothie because line tasted better. We also bought like 3 macarons. Dang... I really love this place and crave it, but today I drove 25 min (like I normally do) to come get my fix. And I arrived at 8:40pm. They close at 9pm but the sign was off and the door was locked. There were two guys working inside and clearly trying to act like they didn't see us so that they wouldn't have to open the doors. Just really frustrating bc I drove a while to come get it and they should have been open for another 20 minutes. This is as close as I've found to my beloved Taiwanese tea house experience. I can get great tea here. My favorite drink right now is the four seasons oolong with baby tapioca iced. It's a special tea so it's brewed there on the spot, which I think makes it taste amazing. You can get delicious shaved ices with fruit and drizzled with condensed milk here, which is a summer must.
