My Must‑Stop Coffee Spot in Gruene…read more Gruene Coffee Haus is my go‑to spot every time I'm in Gruene, and since I live close by, it's an easy stop that never disappoints. The location is perfect, the vibe is cozy, and it's one of those places that just becomes part of your routine. They offer all the standard drinks along with great specialty options -- lattes, teas, smoothies -- and everything is consistently good. The service is friendly, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for such a popular local shop. They also feature some amazing coffee beans, including my absolute favorites: Texas Pecan and Bourbon Streusel Cake. And if you want them ground, they'll do it for you on the spot. The shop itself is small, so it fills up pretty quickly, and their assorted pastries tend to go fast too -- but honestly, that just shows how loved this place is.

If that's you, you'll enjoy as well. Definitely a place I would come back to again.

Once we arrived inside we loved the homey vibe and the various seating throughout the small home. They also had games and various things for my 2 year old to keep himself occupied while waiting. They had various selections for coffee and various drink options as well. But we were there for the coffee since it was a little early. I ordered "Cowboy like Me" which was a Cold brew, double shot of espresso, oat milk, and simple syrup. I also ordered a cookie and croissant. The price was decent and the coffee was good. I am more excited to come back at a later time to try their drink options. But it was overall a decent experience.

The baristas at the register and who were making our coffee were very friendly. They gave us some solid recommendations, and I ended up going with their seasonal brown butter pumpkin latte. Their homemade syrup was full of buttery pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet at all, which I really liked. The coastal maple latte was a favorite as well. Kora Kora Coffee will definitely be on our list to come back next time we're in the area. They were the perfect ending to our river floating weekend, cheers!

It definitely is geared currently toward classically feminine styles (though of course anyone can enjoy those books). Selfishly, I'd like to see them perhaps bridge that gap a little and bring in some contemporary "cozy sci-fi" (think Becky Chambers, Annalee Newitz, Grace Curtis, or to a lesser extent Martha Wells who is somehow cozy and brutally violent at the same time). The coffee is pretty good too.

This cute little shop is located in downtown New Braunfels and they share space with another boutique. There is a lot of construction happening right now around the downtown area so it can be easy to miss if you are not paying attention. They are located in the back area of the space and have a nice coffee bar and table for you to hang out. They have a small but mighty selection of romance and fantasy books (primarily) and also offer a few other bookish items. I love that they had an ACOTAR themed book menu! I ordered their Night Court which was cold brew with chocolate foam and it was delicious and perfect for our hot Texas weather. Overall this is a great bookstore, and I can't wait to come back again.

It's got that "pop by a friend's place for coffee and a chat" vibe rather than your typical grab-and-go experience. We felt welcome the second we pulled up. Here's what we tried: - The Goat - we got one hot, one iced - Chuck's Kick - A sausage & cheese kolache - Some kind of bagel sandwich situation The Goat was darn good - really smooth and not overly sweet (thank you for that!). There's a subtle cinnamon note that gives it a cozy little twist. Just make sure to give it a good stir--don't let the good stuff hang out at the bottom. Chuck's Kick is for the sweet tooth crew-- but again, stir that baby up so you're not sipping syrup at the end. Both drinks were really well done and felt like they were made with love. Now, food-wise--it's a drive-thru coffee spot, not a full kitchen, so manage those expectations accordingly. The kolache was fine, solid little bite, but nothing to write home about. The bagel sandwich? Ehhh, not one I'd go for again--but that's totally okay. I came for the coffee, and the coffee delivered. The biggest win here is the vibe. It's local, it's full of heart, and the owner is a total sweetheart who makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. We'll absolutely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu--and to keep supporting a small business that's clearly built on passion and good coffee. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by. Just don't forget to stir.

They were out of the raspberry which was what I initially wanted. From the looks of it, I thought it was going to be flakey, not doughy, or else I wouldn't have gotten it. So basically like hawaiian bread consistency & strawberry chunks in syrup. I was not impressed at all. For one, you can tell they popped it in the microwave. So not only not fresh but the texture was not it. I also wish she would have asked if we wanted it warmed up because I really do not like pastries, cinnamon rolls, muffins, ect. heated up. I wish it was of just fresh strawberries rather than an overly sweet processed "preserve" of it. I tried my mom's chocolate croissant & we both could just taste what would come out of a microwave, plus it was tough to chew. The Dude was okay, nothing to rave about there. $22 for 2 pastries & 2 coffees is outrageous but again we living in quality decline & price increases.
