I love going here at least once a week, I love their Matcha Moon, it's not bitter and has a floral taste. The Blue Moon Latte was also so delicious! I also recommend getting the Cinnamon Rolls if you're lucky to see any before they run out, lovely fluffy texture. The inside of the shop itself is very cozy and welcoming, the atmosphere is just so peaceful. The bathrooms are also very clean and stylish as well. I am a sucker for trying new coffee places. This one was especially appealing because of the secret moon milk and wood fired coffee...I thought you could only wood fire food! I walked into a very cozy and relaxing coffee shop. I ordered a large, iced 1/2 Winter Moon and 2 tacos. The male cashier seemed meh- not the friendliest. While waiting for my coffee the woman making the coffees yelled at the cashier for not putting almond milk on someone's cup and they went back and forth. Don't mind me and the other customers standing here. It's just milk- no need to be grumpy about it. Made me think this place isn't as cozy as it appears. When my coffee was ready, they didn't thank me. I thanked them as I was walking away and nothing. No smiles. I'm sorry my business is interrupting your day. You work at a coffee shop making sunshine in a cup for people- breathe it in people! The tacos were okay, but I was starving so I didn't really relish the taste the way I inhaled them. The coffee was...different. The moon milk was sweet- not too sweet but just different. The coffee had a slight wood taste to it. It kind of threw me off. It's almost like when you eat bbq and can tell someone put one too many drops of smoke flavoring. I'm pretty new to coffee, but I can tell low-quality coffee from good coffee. Summer Moon is an appealing location to study thanks to the warmth of the shop and the aroma of coffee everywhere. The menu confused me even though I made sure to look at the menu online before walking to Summer Moon, and the staff aren't friendly. Since Summer Moon is in a large strip mall, you don't need to worry about parking. While I was staring at the menu, I was offered a sample of their moon milk. The moon milk was yummy, but it just tasted like a mixture of condensed milk and some skim milk to make the moon milk smooth and sweet. Could definitely make something like that at home using the canned condensed milk you can buy from a supermarket. I finally ordered the Summer Moon latte after examining the menu for a long time and being told that the moon milk levels were not applicable to every coffee drink like the nitro brew. The menus need to fix: Make the menus more clarifying so that customers aren't confused whether they can adjust the milk level in their coffee drinks. Other than the confusing menus, the coffee was okay. Definitely had a good balance between the amount of espresso and moon milk. I will agree with the other reviews that the staff aren't very helpful or friendly. One blonde girl was too busy texting to help the two women other than me at the front. We were all looking at the menu, but we really would have appreciated help choosing from the menu. The other girl that actually helped had a deadpan look on her face the whole time. Came in today for some coffee from this new spot in SM and I'm in love !! The man working the counter was super friendly and got my iced chai latte and frozen lemonade out extremely fast . Both were soooo delicious and a large 20oz is about 5.00 ( the same if not cheaper then Starbucks .) The place could use a couple more tables , but I definitely see this place taking off and becoming a go to coffee spot in sm! This place is super clean and cute but nothing exciting and not nearly the type of place I'd come to work or socialize. It's someone's cup of coffee but it's not mine! They have a very different vibe then other coffee shops and sadly I was very disappointed in my coffee . It was stale and dark at the same time, which was not what I was looking for. My friend decided on a smoothie (why Is it at a coffee bar) but seemed to enjoy that, while my coffee was nothing to bring me back! Location : is very bright and wake me up style, which would be good for some studying or reading but laptop would be hard to read if you aren't sitting in the right spot! Summer moon is by far one of the best coffee shops I've ever come across! I love friendly and welcoming vibes they give to anyone who walks in the door! I feel as if I'm at magnolia table whenever I walk into this specific location. They team up with local vendors to sell tacos and donuts (gluten free donuts to top it off)! I personally love ordering the 1/4 summer moon! I feel like this drink is the perfect mix of coffee and sweetness! They are doing a fantastic job at keeping the restaurant clean and safe during this pandemic. I applaud them for enforcing their customers and employees to wear face mask while in the building! Additionally, they have done a great job at enforcing social distancing rules and regulations while in the store! I've been going to this coffee shop for about a year and have no problems until today. I walked in before my shift as an emergency medical technician just to get some coffee before work. I was greeted my and very rude Asian girl who told me they weren't open yet and had quite the attitude. I grew to love summer moon. Something about it before seemed a little too hipster-Austiny for my taste, but now I have completely abandoned my Starbucks addiction and grabbed up Summer Moon. Their product is unique, their flavors are unique, I got sick of the espresso and cheap tasting flavors over at Starbucks-- summer moon is my go-to coffee shop in San Marcos. Their lattes are STRONG, what I would compare two shots at Starbucks (grande) is a small at Summer Moon. I ask them to prepare mine with one less espresso shot and it's perfect. They have great dairy alternatives, and their roasted chestnut holiday latte is phenomenal. I hope they make it a permanent drink! read more

I did have to take a minute to understand the menu. I wasn't familiar with terms like Moon milk, I'm more of a macchiato kinda person, so I had some doubts after placing my orders. My boyfriend got the global, and I couldn't tell you what that means or is, other than tasty. He liked it but it was a little on the sweeter side for me. I went with the nitro cold brew with sweetener (moon milk I believe) and I will say it was one of the better nitro cold brews I've had. It's smooth and creamy but not overly sweet and low on the acidity. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu, or to get the same thing again. We were definitely pleasantly surprised. Well, if you close at 8:00 you should serve your product until 8:00. Tonight they closed 15 minutes early and would not serve me anything that would dirty their already cleaned machines. The first time I came in I kept telling the barista I couldn't have their "moon milk" which is like a sweetener from my understanding, but they can add it to almond milk, etc. My favorite drink is the Blue Moon which is a "quarter moon" with lavender added, soothing, yet energizing. I also buy their coffee beans for my espresso and its bomb. I have to say those little donuts are really good, but I've gotten a taco and an egg sandwich before ...disappointing, would not recommend... I'll be sticking to the yummy cake donuts. read more
