From the ordering with Lindsay, table service by Mary Jane (the owner's mom,) and food expertly prepared by none other than Claire, the owner, everything was spot on! Making me feel like an honored guest at all times. I had the egg sandwich to eat, and man was it good! My complimentary the chef for also sending out a sampling of the grits bowl. It definitely had a kick. Buy it was oh so good. Oh, and my iced latte in oat milk was taste too. All in all I give this pop up restaurant an A++. And I can't wait to hear about the ramen pop up. The glazed carrots had a light maple taste that paired really well with the dish. The temperature in the restaurant was perfect, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. The music was great and set at just the right volume, which made it easy to relax, enjoy the meal and hear the conversation. That said, the decor could use a bit of improvement. No offense to the artist, but the prints felt a little odd and too small for the wall space. The overall layout of the restaurant could also be better--it didn't feel as cohesive as the food and service deserved. Also, the hardwood seats could use some padding for both the back and bottom to make longer visits more comfortable. We ordered queso with chili and it was $6. What arrived was a very small bowl the size of a sauce dish. One thing I did not really like was that when our meal was finished, our waitress just showed up with a handheld with a total and tip already added in. I know some places do this for large groups but there was only 4 of us. The total was $90 for three entries, two margaritas, a queso, a coffee and four waters. No iced teas or sodas. Seemed excessive but the way they just bring a handheld with a total, it's impossible to check what is on your check and how much each item was.
