This place is amazing! Great food, great service, cool things to look at, and the homemade pickles on the pickle bar-delicious! Oh and the homemade whipped cream - sooooo good! What a gem!

Food The food has been absolutely amazing! Taste is on point and delivers. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles. Chicken is nicely breaded and seasoned. Expecting it to be okay since it's the breast but it exceed all expectations. The waffle is nice and soft/fluffy not too sweet but sweet enough to be eaten without syrup. The whip cream tastes home made and is absolutely delicious. Also had a sandwich but it was just okay, we tried the crab cake with Benedict eggs and the egg was good as was the English muffin the crab cake was a little disappointing. The salad and pickle bar weren't too eye catching either. Service Placed the order for pick up but went in and was greater with a friendly hello. Food came out quick and hot. Ambiance The place is not very catchy on first glance. Tucked away in a plaza. But the chickens and waffles makes up for everything

I'm updating this review to add the brunch buffet. Although there is the buffet, one can still order from the regular menu, which is on the video screens or via QR Code. The menu is ever changing, and on this date, it was difficult to decide what to choose since so many entrees looked delicious! I went with the Ruby Shoes sandwich. Yummy!!!!

Today was my first time experiencing Market Street Cafe and I'm giving them 5 Stars for Food (omg amazing), and Service (everyone was friendly and conversational to us and our baby), and speed (we got seated and served quickly). We went just after 2pm on a Sunday - they do close at 3pm so we were cutting it close. Someone immediately greeted us, wiped down the booth and seated us. Our servers Madi and Will were helpful explaining the buffet and breakfast/lunch menus. I ordered the Fire Star French Toast (lrg) with scrambled eggs and sausage on the side. Sarah ordered the Strawberry Lemonade waffles with scrambled eggs and sausage on the side. Both dishes came out within 12 minutes and were plated superbly. The food tasted better than it looked! The outside and inside of the cafe are pretty low key and non assuming. It gives hole in the wall vibes, which we know means the food will be amazing. The inside was clean, brightly lit, and small. We came after the brunch Rush so I'm sure it can feel cramped inside if every table was filled. I wish there were more restaurants around the Central TX area like this one and until we find another, this is the one I'll be sharing with my friends and family. I already know what I want to try on our next time visiting. Until then!

We absolutely love MSC! We started visiting them when they were on the square in Lockhart, and love that the current location is about 5min from the house. Obviously, we tend to eat the same meals, but we have purchased from the menu, come in for the buffets, and ordered turkey and ham for Thanksgiving the last two years. We usually go in when they open (10am) so that we don't have to wait, but have also successfully used the reservation service for Mother's Day. The food is hot, ingredients fresh, and staff is always very attentive.

Absolutely adorable cafe. The food was amazing my boyfriend and I cleaned our plates. And they had a PICKLE bar which I've never experienced but we had to try it. We lastly got some delicious carrot cake to go, I can say we will definitely be back.

This is truly a hidden gem! I was surprised all around. The service! Very attentive even on a Sunday when they were full to the rim. Very nice, kind and offered all the information and recommendations plus more. We arrived around 9:30am and let me tell you- that was the right call because about 30 mins later, that place was packed!. It's right down the street from where we were staying camping- Lockhart State Park. You have the option of buffet or platters. I got the steak and eggs- always! It was delicious! The side of bread is homemade and fluffy as a cloud. The steak was ordered medium and I've never had a steak cooked to perfection. The eggs were flavorful and the potato's were a delight. I've never had so much coffee in my life! The best! Let the waiters tell you all about. The French toast are huge servings so you can easily split. The pickle bar is complementary. A place you won't regret visiting.

Free pickle bar!!! All of them were so good

The people here are truly wonderful!! I came to celebrate my bachelorette weekend with friends and family. They made us feel so special and welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious and they treated me with a dessert to go amazing and memorable experience

Does it have a simple yet elevated menu? ALSO YES! First I was like alright dive bar. Then you realize it is an upscale dive bar in a sort. Drinks come out of a cooler filled with ice OR are perfectly crafted in front of you. We started by sharing the recommendation of the DEVILED EGGS (5 pc) with the Korean Chili Crisp. Was a curious as it seems like a dive bar?You betcha. Was it maybe the best deviled eggs I've ever had. Absolutely! Get these for sure! Then we shared the JOJOS "Seasoned Potato Wedges" with Boom Boom Sauce. The crunch and flavor of the potatoes was spot on. The boom boom sauce is house made and has a lovely kick to it. We couldn't eat them all because our next item came... We both had a SMASH BURGER: Double Double, Beef Patties, American Cheese, Boom Boom Sauce on a Potato Roll. I am going to say when I want a smash burger this is what I am thinking of. This is what I want. The only thing, some days I may want just ketchup and not Boom Boom sauce but that is by day and mood only. Damn they did good! I'll be back. I will need to eat all of this again!

This place is out the way, therefore coming here for anyone has to be intentional, no one is just 'passing by' as this place is down the street, around the corner past the big tree and in between the two houses past the school... The things and I ordered burgers and a club sandwich. Burgers: When it comes to making burgers, the quality of ingredients can make a big difference between a good burger and a truly great burger. This mom and pop shop uses the highest quality ingredients when it comes to burgers. The burgers are made with chuck steak and its obvious as the meat has the ideal fat to muscle ratio. These burgers are prepared on heavy, cast-iron pans and griddles which allows the burgers to retain their juiciness and give them a flavorful taste. The meat is presented on a bed of fresh white diced onions, thick tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and a grilled bun. These burgers are filling and is enough for an adult to eat and perhaps have leftovers like we did. Because these burgers are made to order, it takes about 15 minutes at a minimum for and item to be prepared. Beyond the food, the hospitality here is unmatched. When coming here, it really feels like you've stepped into someone home to have a solid meal. When here this time around, the Things and I were greeted by the owner and the were checked on during our meal. For the three meals, the total was just north of $40. While that may be steep for some, the quality is really what guests are paying for when here. #supportlocal

The glazed carrots had a light maple taste that paired really well with the dish. The temperature in the restaurant was perfect, which made the whole experience even more comfortable. Service was spot on too--Anna took great care of us and was incredibly patient as we shared stories and even offered a few decor suggestions. She was attentive without being overbearing. The music was great and set at just the right volume, which made it easy to relax, enjoy the meal and hear the conversation. That said, the decor could use a bit of improvement. No offense to the artist, but the prints felt a little odd and too small for the wall space. The overall layout of the restaurant could also be better--it didn't feel as cohesive as the food and service deserved. Also, the hardwood seats could use some padding for both the back and bottom to make longer visits more comfortable. All in all, definitely worth checking out for the food and atmosphere, with just a few areas that could be elevated.
