What a cute coffee/plant/snack spot! We enjoyed some wine in the cute back courtyard and loved it! Great addition to Lockhart downtown.

It's a nice cozy bar/lounge in the basement of a building. Most guests were dressed in business casual so I fit right in!!! I ordered a glass of Rosé and their steak sliders. It did take quite some time for my food to come out however, they were busy due to it being first Friday. The sliders were cooked to perfection. The steak had a nice crispy char on the outside and perfectly medium on the inside. The brioche bun was slightly toasted and warm. The fries were very good, nothing fancy but, very good! I haven't had a bad glass of Rosé in my life and this time, it again, went down exceptionally well! I definitely will visit this spot again.

Every place except for this one closes around 9pm or before on Sunday nights and thank God I found this one open later because this place knocked our socks off! This is our new go to place as the ambience is so unique and low key. It's underground with dim lighting and amazing music choices. The owner is super cool and kind. This place just has a really great vibe. The food was AMAZING. The drinks were perfect! Everything about this place was 100%. We had the fish and the avocado shrimp dip. I'd have to say this meal was one of the best I've had in a long time and the price was well worth it. As for drinks we had the lemon martini with a gin twist (wonderful) and the little margarita. The margarita had a nice kick with a little spice and it was great to actually have a bar made drink that wasn't your traditional margarita or beer. We are excited to come back already

I Was a regular shopper at the HEB in Bastrop. Then I moved to Georgetown and was a regular shopper at the 3 HEBs in Georgetown! While staying in Lockhart, this weekend for a family wedding, I went to the local HEB. It wasn't the HEB, I'm use to shopping at. It was much smaller and older. That part wasn't a big deal, because Lockhart has a smaller population and that store has been in the same location for a long time. I went in to grab some flowers to bring to a local friend of mine, that invited TV (The Villain, my husband Ray) over for a BBQ. I was also going to grab strawberry shortcake fixin's. I went to pick out flowers and half of the selection was wilted. There was a young lady vacuuming the floral section, that clearly saw me waiting to peruse the rest of the flowers. She took her sweet a$$ time vacuuming. I patiently waited. When she was finished, she shot me a snotty irritated look. I'm not sure if she was mad that she had to vacuum or that I patiently waited. This is NOT the customer service I'm use to receiving from HEB! That was the first time I saw an HEB employee unhappy to be working at HEB! I was as confused as a fart in a fan factory! (Personally I've always dreamed of working at an HEB, if Ray aka TV (The Villain) divorces me. I would move myself right back to Texas and work at an HEB) The good news is, this HEB carry's a lot of my favorite HEB products! They carry my Cobb Salad, that I use to eat at least 3 times a week! Their tortilla chips with Sea Salt! Their Ice Cream is to die for!!! Their coffee! I could write a novel about HEB products, but I don't have time. Bottom line; HEB has great prices and products! I've missed you HEB!!!! PS. I would love an HEB t-shirt, I wear a women's size medium SSDGM, Elaine

No frills bbq gets a no frills review…read more Brisket was worth the drive. Sausage was ok. The jalapeno sausage seemed to have some other spice like fennel in it too, which was unexpected but good. You enter the building and are immediately in front of the pit and even some open fire. You order your meat from the guys and pay there. Then you can go into the dining room and order sides, or just eat your meat like we did. They aren't kidding when they say "no forks." They just give you knives, but the brisket barely needs a knive.

The firewood sits on the ground as you walk in as a part of their open-fire cooking style bringing smoke into the brick pits. These new school smokers don't do it like Smitty's. As we walked in at 10:30, there was no line. We asked for the simplest order. A single slice of brisket and a single slice of turkey. It was about $12 all in. As we sat down with one of the 4 pieces of butcher paper for 2 slices of meat, I noticed that there are no forks at Smitty's. Just knives. We got to work. The turkey was fantastic. Barbecue turkey is honestly an underrated concept and their turkey was juicy, soft, and would change any Thanksgiving meal to one for the history books. I was extremely disappointed in the slice of brisket though. It was extremely chewy like plastic. Decently seasoned but not tender at all. Probably a bit undercooked. It was worth visiting for the experience, especially to get a picture next to the fire pit, which one of the people on staff was nice enough to take for us. As we walked out, we noticed tons of their awards and recognitions. It's cool to give a classic originator of Texas barbecue a hat tip like we did. RIYL: The originators or fire on the floor
