First time setting foot in the physical storefront and I was treating ma to lunch almost immediately after opening. It was clean, industrial/minimal setting, the staff friendly and the layout very easy for my aging ma to build her own bowl on the fly. She'd been very excited checking online earlier but neglected to mark down any specific order; she loved that everything was listed right at the topping stations. Randomly selected El Hippie which proved my least favorite so far, but enjoyed the second half much more after several hours (which intrigues me, I'll have to try it again with sauces on the side). I plan to eat my way through the entire menu eventually. El Cubano is still my reigning favorite. What you can't get by delivery--through the Yelp link, anyway--is their agua fresca. Tried pineapple cucumber, my usual flavor, which was good. Three glasses good. There were two other flavors available which have unfortunately slipped my mind. During our visit students, young families, and delivery drivers came and went. Everything went smoothly, everyone seemed pleased. Grabbed a brown butter and sea salt krispie bar for later and another to send home to ma's husband. They're big enough to share with a friend if you ARE behaving, and a safely indulgent size if you are not (I haven't shared either of mine so far, just downed it with a large glass of milk and a big smile). Was surprised to find out this establishment is NOT a chain/franchise. I made a custom bowl with the following ingredients: shredded kale, cilantro lime brown rice, cuban style black beans, citrus chipotle glazed tofu, roasted sweet potatoes, cherry tomato pico, charred corn, pickled onion, marinated garbanzos, cucumber, 1/2 order of sweet and spicy brussels sprouts topped with a fresh lime squeeze and a side of citrus cilantro vinaigrette! As tasty as it was, I'd probably get double vinaigrette next time to balance the dryness of some ingredients (garbanzo beans, etc) Unfortunately I can't speak on the ambiance of the restaurant as I got it delivered through DoorDash, but as for the service-- it didn't take as long as I'd expected! We were looking for a healthy option in San Marcos. It seems like most options are pretty heavy and unhealthy. We passed by Fresco and were curious by the title so we looked it up on yelp. All the reviews were great so we were excited to try it. Absolutely love the flavor explosions of so much stuff going on, so many flavors. We were only in the area for a limited time but as soon as we found this place we came three days in a row. The tofu and the brussels sprouts are probably some of my favorite choices. They have some great options that are already designed but our favorite was the build your own. The fresh Fresca juices were amazing. They were definitely a highlight to the meal. Absolutely delicious and a must try. The bowls are big so you could actually eat them over to Mills but they're so delicious you're gonna wanna eat them as one. read more

Fresh, tasty food with stellar service. I've been going to fresco many time since they opened and the food and service have been well above par. The workers are amicable and speedy at their job. After the tenth time of me going there, I asked a server if they've ever gotten negative feedback because I cannot imagine why anyone would have a bad experience at Fresco. She was transparent by saying no, other than a specific subclass of older folk (no offense) who can not taste things as well as they used to. But she has an easy solution, which is for extra salt, paper, spices, and/or sauces they have available. I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially vegetarians and vegans, as they have a plethora of options. read more

Fresco has a big restaurant feel, but is absolutely a small business owned by two co-owners who are active partners in the day-to-day operations. This is something that is hard to find in current day society. We cannot rave enough about Fresco, the only way it could be better is if they open a location in Kyle! :D We have gone probably around 15 times and we will continue to do so. Okay fresco I see you w your good tofu. This is a perfect lunch place to hit up after the gym, I got this amazing $10 bowl. Everything was really fresh and the flavors were so good! Typically restaurants struggle with the tofu prep but they nailed it. "Health" places also tend to struggle with the flavor and make sauces way too sweet etc the tofu is a lil sweet but overall good balance. The avocado yogurt ranch is so tasty with the hot sauce :) I ordered it online and immediately drove there, and it was waiting for me on the pick up shelf like 7 minutes after I placed the order.
