I had an awesome meal here. First, shout out to my server, MJ. She's freaking fantastic. She really went through the menu with me and checked on me and her other tables, more than she needed to. Now, Tumble is a huge place with lots of seating, outside patio and a bar. It's got a cool modern vibe going and TVs running sports. Fried chicken and burgers are the focus with some interesting menu items. Pies to round off dessert. I really loved my 1/4 chicken korean style (spicy, gochujung). I was a bit worried when the chicken came out quick but it was on point. On the sides front, the broccoli salad was stellar. Finally the key lime pie was solid. Great service, quick, and delicious! The heavenly eggs were so good with the candied bacon, and the dirty fries were honestly enough to make me full on their own. I would come back and try their stupid hot (ghost) flavor next time. I had the habanero and it was spicy yet the chicken flavor was still good. My wife and I love this place....it's a borderline problem. When we lived in Kyle we would drive up to the Lake Austin location once a week. When we moved to San Marcos and realized they were opening one up across from HEB off exit 205 we both looked at each other and said in unison "uh-oh". Hot chicken sandwiches are one of my favorite things to eat on the planet. Our yearly trips to Nashville aren't complete until I go to Prince's, Hattie Bs and Boltons. The first time we went to Tumble was 2 days after returning from a trip and I'll put T22 up against any of them all day. We have never even gone to the Hattie Bs in Austin because we don't need to. I have tried a couple other hot chicken spots in the area and was severely disappointed. They set the bar that high. A Big Larry is a must have. Blood orange frozen marg with a Gran Mariner floater that is perfect for that Central Texas heat. Bone-in chicken and tenders are great but the OG sandwich is the star of the show. You can choose from 6 different heat levels from nothing to "stupid hot"...which is in fact stupid hot. I go one notch below (cluckin hot) and my wife enjoys dang hot. The OG is huge so come hungry. We have actually taken to ordering the Lil OG so we don't drive home in a coma. Try it Korean style at least once. It doesn't disappoint. They have several other sandwich versions as well so, plenty of variety. The fries are like old school McDonald's fries (compliment, have to get the comeback sauce of course) but the ranch beans are my typical go to. I do wish they had potato salad like other locations but the slaw is great if I'm in the mood to cool things off. They are also know for their pies, I'm partial to the Key Lime. The happy hour menu (4-6pm) is a legitimately good value as well and has items on there you'll actually want to order (Big Larry, Lil OG, etc). The staff, management, bartenders and hosts are always attentive and cheerful. We bring our dogs and sit on the patio and everyone comes by to give them some pets, water bowl and even the occasional treat. You'll love it here just like anyone and everyone we take here who visits from out of town or who we brow-beat in to going who hasn't been yet. read more

A full bar (big Larry was delicious) 3 People in my party got the OG, we all chose different toppers and spiciness levels and they were all delicious! Businesses are figuring out that the college town we know as San Marvelous, is a great city to open up a restaurant. Not only is the surrounding TXST campus one of the most beautiful in Texas, with the river running through it and the hill county views, but it has now become the latest of trendy places to eat. Tumble 22 was on our up next list to experience and it did not disappoint. After the Heavenly Egg app, we went with the 1/2 Fried Chicken, Korean style, and the Cobb Salad with chicken breast. Because they use a dry rub, the flavor is mainly on the skin and not within the meat, but I still found it to be flavorful. There are several levels of hot in the rub and choosing the "Dang Hot" was just hot enough to enjoy. Sides of ranch beans and broccoli were nice compliments. The inside dining has a nice feel to watch college football, or to have lunch and then walk over to the UFCU stadium. Our server was friendly, quick to refill our drinks and was on point. read more

In my search for a good fried chicken restaurant, I saw that Tumble 22 has bone in chicken so I thought I'd give this new restaurant a shot. I ordered the half chicken and a 8 piece chicken nuggets. I ordered hot, so they would have some spice to it. The service was great. I was greeted at the door with smiles and they brought me my order right away. The restaurant is new so it looked clean and I loved how the pick up window was right up front. However, as soon as I got home I wanted to try the chicken while it was hot and fresh. The nuggets were dry and lacked seasoning to me. My family agreed. The heat was perfect though. So I tried the chicken wing and it was not seasoned but the heat was fine. So I am still on the hunt for a chicken restaurant with great fried chicken. Wish me luck! read more

Wow, just, wow. This place is so legit. No joke, best fried chicken I have probably ever had. So fresh, tender and juicy. I got the 1/2 mixed with Dang spicy which is the Serrano pepper. Made me sweat a bit, which is exactly what I look for in my heat. The broccoli salad was really good, and the Mac and cheese was also great. The chocolate cream pie is amazing and very rich. I didn't take any pictures cause I was dying to jump on in. Server was good and friendly and explained what we needed. Ambiance was laid back and had a good feel to it. Well sorry but I guess I'm the first bad review. I stopped in and got a dark meat combo to go with greens and broccoli salad. I guess I'm supposed to eat my salads with my fingers because there wasn't any plastic-ware or napkins in the bag which is also a problem with how greasy the chicken is. I would love to say I needed the napkins to wipe off my mouth, but I needed napkins because they didn't seal the container properly for the greens and it leaked juice through the paper bag and into my car seat. As I picked up the bag it went all over my new shirt and pants and stain won't come out. It was truly over salted to the point I could not even eat it. And what I don't like is when paying, the pad comes up with the lowest tip you can scroll to is 18%. So I gave 18% tip for a carryout that cost me more in cost to now get my seats shampooed and TRY to get stain out of my clothes. I'm Out! read more

I've only been to the other location in north austin but dare I say this is the superior location?! Upon walking in I was greeting incredibly warmly. So much so that I mentioned it to the person who escorted me into the restaurant! I was seated and talked to about what I'd ordered last time I visited a tumble 22 in case I wanted the same thing. I was seated at the bar since I was getting an order to go. I was offered water and my order taken immediately. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. When I got home I noticed this was the spiciest looking chicken I'd ever seen! It was dark red..garnet! I'm a spice lover but I didn't want to touch it with my hands...I commited a cardinal fried chicken sin and grabbed a knife and fork! cutting into it, it was so darn juicy!!! I did eventually go in with my fingies; and getting that down and dirty I noticed there was some raw redness closer to the bone that I don't care for. I'm assuming it was a product of them being busy. I did throw it into the air fryer to remedy that. I got the 1/2 bird with 2 sides (greens and mac and cheese). It was a exactly what I got the first time I went to tumble 22 ( the north austin location) and from what I remember, the greens were better here! I remember them having a really good flavor but they were a bit hard for my taste. Here, while still a bit hard, it wasn't nearly as noticeable. I had to be incredibly picky. Also, the amount of meat they used to season their greens was just like home cooking! But the star was the mac and cheese. On first bite I let out an audible "YOOOOO"...and I'm not for New York so don't ask me why I said that...it was just that good! I'd go back just for the mac. I actually thought about it.. Don't judge me until you've gone to this location and had it! I'm so happy to have a tumble 22 this close to me because now I can explore their menu on a more regular basis. read more

Food, Service and Atmosphere are great! I can't do spicy but the no spice one is so tasty. Really loved the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. The chicken bites are lightly breaded and tasty. The OG Chicken sandwich with a coleslaw topping was thick and juicy. We've only tried the custard and chocolate pie and they taste do homemade. Waitress told us they bake them there.
