I've never been to another Bahama bucks, but this one is fantastic. I love that they don't show any annoyance when I walk in 10 minutes before they close to get a snow cone. I stopped by to try one of Bahama Bucks' unique soda pop offerings, specifically Caribbean Cola. It was SO GOOD. Bursting with vanilla flavor-- I couldn't stop sipping it the whole way down the freeway. I didn't even realize it Happy Hour was 2-5pm with half price sodas until I ordered and the employee quoted me the price! 44 ounces of pure bliss for less than two bucks. Sadly, I was not super impressed with Bahama Bucks. I will start with a positive though, the inside decor is so cute, very beachy. I got a lemonade and was so disappointed. I'm a huge lemonade gal, and it tasted like lemonade from the grocery store. Now, my husband did enjoy his shaved ice, for the most part! The syrup isn't super distributed, but overall he liked it. The thing that I found most disappointing was how long it took to get served, when we were 2 of 5 people in the establishment (the other 3 were already sitting when we ordered, so we figured they already had their orders) I would not want to see that place when they are busy! First time here. Heard about them and thought to give it a try. This place is a come inside and sit down (yay-you don't have to fight off crazy bees like some snow cone stands). Oh they also have a drive through. We came on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Inside and drive through were pretty busy. What we ordered: Pina colada with cream, blue coconut with cream and a mango Piccadilly. I have never had ice so finely shaved and compact in my life. Our favorite NB places are Ducky's and Hokulia but this may be our new fav (especially with a drive through). Loved that they weren't overly syrupy. Service: Teens rams the show. The gal who took our order was pretty neutral but she got out order exactly right and was friendly enough. Although they were busy they cones came out super quick. Love the little umbrellas. We are pretty obsessed with Bahama Buck's, but unfortunately the shaved ice at this location is hit or miss. Sometimes the ice isn't as smooth or creamy as other times, but that's not a big deal. The biggest frustration is that about half the time there isn't enough flavoring (see pics). When we eat at the restaurant, we'll ask for more flavoring (even if it seems like we're bothering the workers sometimes), but unfortunately we got them to go tonight. They really need to figure out a way to make the product more consistent--e.g., better employee training, weighing the shaved ice cups after making them, dispensers that release a standardized amount of flavoring. At the least, if they're going to err, they should err on the side of putting in too much flavoring. An extra five cents of flavoring isn't going to hurt the bottom line, but five cents too little will. Because nobody wants to eat a plain cup of snow. read more

Made a stop here after we finished a lo g run outside in the 90 degree heat! Was a wonderful treat!! So many options and there was no line, thankfully. Regular snocones are the way to go, and love the spoons. Remind me of eating trix cereal as a kid, and those color changing spoons you would find in the box. Anyway, so why the 3 star review? We've been here before and it had been better. The snow cones are good (ice is super soft), BUT it still took 15 minutes before we got our orders even though there was no line when we arrived at the counter. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and assume there was a big order ahead. Every table is sticky which is not unusual for this place. During our long wait, I spoke to the table next to us and they said the last time they were here and asked the workers if the table could be wiped down so it's not too sticky for their child, but the workers didn't and only looked annoyed at her. After we ordered my family and I grabbed a seat that nearly became our Death chairs as we waited for what seemed like forever for our glorified snow cones to be prepared. At the time of our visit there were only six other people in the dining area Four of which already had their purchase. While we were waiting for our "shaved ice" we notice that four of the seven employees were just standing around talking, one was holding up the register, one was making our shaved ice and the other was standing there watching our shaved ice be made. Why is all that information important because if any of the employees standing around doing nothing were to have turned on the second ice shaving machine are snow cones could've been delivered in an expedient manner. Each one of our shaved ice were delivered individually I literally had to get up six different times to grab six different shaved ice about 6 min. apart. That's right it literally took 5 - 6 minutes to make each one of our regular sized shaved ice. What really chaps my hide is that right after our order was complete they opened up the second shaved ice machine which they could've done all along but didn't. There's usually a line around the corner for the drive-through of Bahama Buck's, I assumed it was because they were popular but now I see it's because they take in asinine amount time to create a snow cone. Keep in mind that any of the other shaved ice places in town only have 1 to 2 employees running the facility and managed to pump out snow cones about one snowcone per minute. during the summer we often visit T-Good's Shaved Ice out front of our local HEB grocery store and we generally get all six of our snowcone's delivered to us within 5 min. total not per-person. My açaí bowls were good, but the got my order wrong 2x and charged me for the wrong items and refunded me everything to only Charge me again for the items I wanted. read your order back at least 2x to me and then charge me to ensure it is correct. Well, if you expect to get the little Umbrella with your high priced sno cone then think again. Bahama Bucks might not realize it... but 7 and 9 year old kids expect that... and sometimes want it more than the sno cone itself.
