So, I learned that not all locations are as incredible as the locations that I've ordered from before. I placed an order several days in advance to be delivered to my brother for his birthday. On the day of the delivery, I get a message that it was delivered with a picture that is not my brother's house. I can't see the house number and have no idea where it went. I called my brother and obviously he didn't get the order. I called the store and explained that the order was not delivered to the correct house. I was put on hold several times, gave the information requested, then put on hold again. In the interim, my brother's neighbor took the delivery over to their house. When the lady came back on the line I told her that the cookies were delivered by my brother's neighbor. She was quiet and didn't say anything. I said to her, the delivery driver (Tucker) still dropped it off to the wrong house and that should be addressed. Luckily, my brother's neighbor didn't toss them or keep them. She didn't say anything, didn't offer a remedy, didn't apologize, nothing. I will not order from them again. I'll go back to Tiff's for orders in this area. read more

Insomnia Cookies in San Marcos is located right on the square downtown, and they heavily advertise their warm cookies. I decided to try the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with ice cream. The cookie was placed at the bottom of the dish with a scoop of ice cream on top. While the ice cream was full of flavor and very enjoyable, it ended up cooling the cookie down too much. I think it would be better if they served the cookie standing up with the ice cream on the side, so the cookie stays warm. As for the cookie itself, it was mediocre--not as soft or warm as I expected. The ice cream really stole the show in this dessert. Next time, if I decide to give it another go, I'll just get a cookie on its own to experience it warm like they advertise. Ordered delivery at 1:30 pm Saturday and said that they were going to deliver it soon. Still didn't hear anything when their store closed at 3 and tried to call at 3:05 and no one would answer. I tried contacting support to help me and they wouldn't let me cancel till 3:45 TWO AND A HALF HOURS AFTER ORDERING. I've driven by many times and been interested in stopping due to their name. However, today I had my headphones in at the office, sitting through a finance zoom meeting when I heard some commotion. There was now a box of insomnia cookies at my desk! After colleagues grabbed their pick, I quietly reached over, playing it cool as I was still in the meeting with the camera on. I grabbed a still very warm and super soft white chocolate chip cookie. At first bite, it tasted like snickerdoodle, then I found the melting rich chocolate. This store seems to be run by a woman with minimal management skills. Four days ago, I stopped in about 10 minutes after they were supposed to have opened. The door was locked, and when she finally came by to open the door for me, she confessed that she forgot to unlock the door. When I came in, she announced that they had not yet made any deluxe cookies nor any of the classic specialties. Today for Fathers Day I saw online that they opened at noon. I wanted to take my son cookies for Fathers Day so I told them that I would be 30 mins late (since Insomnia opened at noon instead of 11 am, as they do on weekdays). The door was locked and five minutes later, the same woman from 4 days prior let me know that they weren't open yet and wouldn't be open for about half hour or so. When I called the store for assistance, the person who answered was extremely rude and said "I can't help you with that. You need to call customer care." I've now had to go through my credit card company to reverse the charges and have them issue a new card. I usually am a huge fan of insomnia cookies. I used to live in Lafeyette, Indiana and would order after midnight all the time. I loved being able to get a delivery from somewhere that's open after midnight for my late night cravings. However it is Wednesday night and I am now in San Marcos, TX and they are closed at 12 pm. The reason I am only giving four stars is because on their website it says they deliver until 3 am but the store closes at midnight. Very disappointed but other than that I highly recommend trying this place. BEST COOKIES BY FAR. Perfectly made and always warm. Also many different vegan and gluten free options. In this particular store they sell milk as well with many options (different %'s, oat, soy, etc). update The night after I wrote this review I called to order a box of cookies and it took over an hour for the delivery.
