It's relatively cheap but they don't serve actual milk tea -- the closest thing is their selection of cream teas. These are okay but incredibly sweet. I bought the taro cream tea for $3, if you want boba it's $3.50. Best bubble tea out there. I personally recommend ordering almond cream green tea. Their boba is super fresh and has a good texture. I've noticed that some places don't make it correctly and the texture is firm, but this place never fails to impress me. It's a bit on the pricey side so I can't go often, but it's a great treat. Absolutely horrendous customer service! I usually order the same thing every time but this time I ordered the limited time pumpkin spice coffee and was very disappointed...it was disgusting. I kindly asked the lady upfront twice if I could switch my drink as most places allow. The manager said "we're cracking down on people switching drinks" and "there is nothing wrong with your drink so we can't make you a different one".....Um there was definitely something wrong with that rancid ass pumpkin coffee. Makes me question the cleanliness of the place if something as simple as wearing a mask to prevent the spread of the virus canbe put in place. I feel so disappointed because I really like the drinks here, but I lost count of the times that they have told me that they don't have the fruits for the drink that I like. This place does not seem to be stocked and they stop making the drink that I really like early. If the juices are popular then they should have all of the supplies for it or put a sign that they are out before paying or ordering. First off.. be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes during peak hours.... they take their time to make your drink and will go out of order. People who ordered behind you may get their order before you. The prices seem to change frequently. It's no uniform way to add or substitute ingredients in your drink. Lastly.. asking customers if they would like to tip... tacky.. as well as awkward. Customers can't discreetly decide the amount or even if they want to tip.. if you choose not to.. they seem to catch an attitude and take longer with your drink.. For a "lounge," they didn't have much in the way of seating - about 1 4-person table and 2 x 2-person tables if I remember correctly, with a few seats at a counter along the window and maybe a couple couches. It was constantly crowded with people standing around waiting to pick up their orders. The boba was pretty decent though. I made a custom peach Oolong combo with the boba and the lychee jellies. It was more sweet than I would have preferred even without adding any extra sweetener - I think this was likely from the peach syrup. Overall satisfying place to drop by for a drink but won't be my go-to study spot in San Marcos. read more

I gave her a few minutes....nothing. So I decided to order. She messed around with a machine, didn't start the order. 5 minutes later she informs me they are out of boba. San Marcos has always needed a tapioca place, and finally it has happened. A friend and I ventured in, and were almost immediately overjoyed. The staff was wonderfully friendly in their greetings, and patiently waiting for us to browse their extensive menu. We were given popular choices, personal preferences, and even crazy options to suit our cravings, all of which was incredibly helpful. Finally, we decided on a fresh watermelon smoothie with strawberry. (We were lucky enough to watch them slicing the watermelon while waiting!) While ordering, we were informed that you can choose between nondairy creamer, half n half, or even soy milk to suit your tea tastes. They also have a stamp card program. The tea shop was cutely decorated, and even had the World Cup projected on the wall with shelves of board games available for customer use. (If you bring in a board game, you can get a free drink!) In comparison to the plethora of tea shops I've visited in Houston, Teapioca Lounge ranks pretty high on my list. read more

Okay, this is no Star Snow Ice in Houston or Ten Ren in So Cal, but it satisfies the craving for boba. I call it boba and others of the non-Asian persuasion call it bubble tea or pearl tea. I guess the word "boba" is just too ethnic. Oh well. I've had Teapioca in South Austin, so I knew what to expect here. I ordered the strawberry green tea with tapioca. It was decent. The boba itself is always tender here and never hard in the center so they got it right in that area. However, the tea is just okay. So if you're just wanting cold tea, I would suggest a different place. But that's just my opinion. There were bits of that fakey kind of strawberry at the bottom of my drink. I guess it's canned strawberry or something, but not fresh. I didn't really dig it. From what I remember though, their Thai iced tea is pretty solid. If you want to have a conversation there with friends, it's pretty impossible with their pop music blaring. I was sitting at the couches with some friends and could not hear a thing the person across from me said. We had to yell over Iggy and Pitbull to be heard. It was a bit annoying. If you just want to sit there and look cool and trendy, well...WHO DOES THAT? The staff is super friendly though and very helpful with your order. I used love this location but recently they really disappointed me. I went in 2 weeks ago and they double charged my card on a $17 order. I told them immediately and they had me write my info down and said it would be taken care of. My card was charged twice 2 days later so I went back in and they made me write my info on a post it note again and said to wait 7 days and I would have my money back. 10 days later and it still had not been returned and I had not been contacted. I had to go out of my way again to ask and the manager working completely dismissed me and said they couldn't do anything about it since it was "processing." Finally a boba place in San Marcos ! Lots of options. The strawberry smoothies are good, Thai tea was good, but the mint green tea with cream was weird. They even had options to put jello too. It's a Vietnamese/Asian thing so if you know what I'm talking about they have it. Americans should try it. I wish this place had outside sitting or more places to sit, but it's a small little shop. I can't say enough wonderful stuff about this place! The teas are fantastic, the slushes are a good consistency and the cream teas are made with non-dairy creamer so us lactose-intolerant folks can enjoy a treat too! The bobas, or tapiocas, are consistently good in texture. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you like what you ordered or letting you sample the "sinkers," like the aloe vera gels or almond pudding if you need help deciding what to order. They make an effort to learn your name after a few visits too. Some of my favorites here are the lemon honey black (they use real lemon juice) or green tea with tapioca, the chocolate avocado smoothie, and the watermelon slush (fresh watermelon!) with aloe vera gel. They have a great Thai tea with coffee as well, and they also do Taiwan-style snow ice. Haven't tried that yet but it looks tasty. There are a range of board games there and I see students studying there. Also a fun place to grab a treat for a date. Give this place a try if you haven't yet, it's worth checking out! read more

They don't serve it in New Braufels where I live so the only place I knew of was bobalicious in San Antonio off Babcock Rd. And that's a drive!! Well I went to yelp and looked up bubble tea and teapioca popped up it had great reviews so we tried it...... Wow! Delicious!!! It had something for everyone in the fam:) Not only we the drinks out of this world yummy! But the the people they had working behind the counter were excellent!
