    Boba and shaded picnic area
    Lowell O.

I was navigating to a different food truck to order a salad for my wife and discovered this truck and a few others clustered together with some park benches and public restrooms. I will seek this place out each time I find myself in Buda, and will order from at least one of these trucks each time. Two of the four food trucks were open for lunch on Friday. Parasol and this place, Howdy Boba, which also sells poke bowls. Boba options are plentiful and they also have Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. We wanted something that wasn't sweet or creamy so we got the lavender black tea boba and it was perfect for us. Poke bowls here offer you three choices: you base, your protein, and your sauce. Base options are rice, salad or a bit of both. Protein options are Ahi tuna, salmon or a blend of tofu and sweet egg. Sauce options are ponzu (like a citrusy soy sauce), sweet unagi (like a thick, sweet soy sauce), Gochujang (Korean chili sauce similar to Sriracha), sesame oil or ginger. My bowl was as beautiful as it was tastey! They top each bowl with a variety of flavorful toppings. A few of the toppings were non-Japanese (kimchi, pineapple and tomato), but that was fine with me, and the fried shallots were a very nice touch. Prices are good. Boba is $5.95 on its own but cheaper with the combo, which gives you a boba and a poke bowl for $16. I also love their "Howdy Boba" name and their armadillo logo. Very cute! So... would I come here again? Absolutely! I would give five stars, but I'm absolutely spoiled on poke and boba, having lived in California for so long. Still, this is a great place!

I was easily influenced when I came here. It had been popped up on my IG and I really wanted to go. The downside is it is in Buda, and I live in Austin, so it took, and I wasn't disappointed when I got there. While looking at the menu I was torn between the Strawberry Lychee Milk Tea & the Strawberry Fruit Tea. Instead, being the creature of habit, I got the Butterfly Lemonade and it came with exploding boba. I enjoyed it. My daughter got the Sparkle Juice which she chose Strawberry. She enjoyed it and it had sparkles which she enjoyed and I thought it was great. There was seating outside the trailer but sadly the Texas sun was boiling and we waited in the car for our order. They brought our drinks out to the car which was very kind and I appreciate it.

Friendly customer service and great drinks and boba. My family and I love it here. The strawberry tea with boba is my favorite.

    Yummy boba drinks.

Nice drinks in a cool food truck area in Buda. Glad to have this boba option with some good eats for an easy lunch or dinner.

    I. Love. This. Place. Went here for the first time today. And saw that the teas here are dairy free. So I decided to get a milk tea. The strawberry lychee milk tea was AMAZING!!!!! I loved it so much! The gentleman inside was nice and fast. Overall it was a nice experience. The parking lot is pretty small. And there are three food trucks in the lot including this one. My fiancé loved the mocha tea so we were both very satisfied.

Drove all the way from Leander, Tx to come check out this amazing place. Honestly loving the vibe and energy from here. My kids loved the Taro milk tea, and I'm a sucker for their mermaid drink (limited time) and their strawberry lychees milk tea, plus their taro milk tea, and their strawberry tea. Definitely worth the drive and now bringing my friends and family over when they come visit. The best part, they have cute events that offer cup sleeves and awesome music to jam out to while you drink all the yummy boba or have some Thai food!

I was really excited when I saw there was a boba place in the area! There is a parking lot behind the trucks so it's easy to park and grab food or a drink from this food truck area. Their menu is limited but all of the items sounded really good! They were out of regular boba and said it wouldn't be ready for about 30 minutes. I decided on a brown sugar boba and strawberry tea so I didn't have to wait! The strawberry tea was good and the boba was also really good! The only negative was that it took about 15 minutes to get my drink, which seemed like too long for the 3 drinks that were ahead of mine. Overall it was good and I would go back to try another tea flavor!

When I tell you this is my new favorite boba place in Austin, trust I mean it! I love the selection! There was something for me, my brother and mans! I got the matcha taro boba and it was delicious! Also the little heart stopper was an adorable touch! The staff was incredible and were all so friendly! I will definitely be back!

It was light and tasty, with the veggies balancing the rich depth of the black bean falafel and avocado. The veggies all blended well, with no one taste overpowering the other. It was clean, industrial/minimal setting, the staff friendly and the layout very easy for my aging ma to build her own bowl on the fly. She'd been very excited checking online earlier but neglected to mark down any specific order; she loved that everything was listed right at the topping stations. Randomly selected El Hippie which proved my least favorite so far, but enjoyed the second half much more after several hours (which intrigues me, I'll have to try it again with sauces on the side). I plan to eat my way through the entire menu eventually. El Cubano is still my reigning favorite. What you can't get by delivery--through the Yelp link, anyway--is their agua fresca. Tried pineapple cucumber, my usual flavor, which was good. Three glasses good. There were two other flavors available which have unfortunately slipped my mind. During our visit students, young families, and delivery drivers came and went. Everything went smoothly, everyone seemed pleased. Grabbed a brown butter and sea salt krispie bar for later and another to send home to ma's husband. They're big enough to share with a friend if you ARE behaving, and a safely indulgent size if you are not (I haven't shared either of mine so far, just downed it with a large glass of milk and a big smile). Was surprised to find out this establishment is NOT a chain/franchise. There are a lot of bowl/salad places about these days rather like frozen yogurt in the 90s, but this one has pleased us consistently and absolutely impressed my ma so I truly hope they do well.

The meat is seasoned and hits the spot every time - it doesn't matter what meat you get because it is all great! Tons of variation on their menu. Dolma is delicious, the kebabs are delicious, the fries loaded with deliciousness are in fact delicious, and the prices for all dishes are very reasonable. It's got a cool modern vibe going and TVs running sports. Fried chicken and burgers are the focus with some interesting menu items. Pies to round off dessert. I really loved my 1/4 chicken korean style (spicy, gochujung). I was a bit worried when the chicken came out quick but it was on point. On the sides front, the broccoli salad was stellar. Finally the key lime pie was solid. I will definitely be back for another bite next time I'm in town.

Didn't taste any marinade or a lot of seasoning in the coating (so I can bring my SIL here) but I got beautifully cooked, juicy chicken so I figure this is an excellent starting block for whichever direction you take it. Personally, I'm trying the Korean sandwich next time. __MAC AND CHEESE__ (included side) I can be embarrassingly intense about macaroni and cheese. There are establishments I *love* where I refuse to order M&C again and warn others off it, but Tumble 22 is a go. Thrilled to find cavatappi used and the sauce is pretty good. They avoid the ubiquitous sins of being mush, stodgy, or watery. Better than what I've been offered as an entrée elsewhere and is certainly good enough to pair as a side to good fried chicken. __BROCCOLI SALAD__ (included side) Broccoli salad was best I've had since Cottonseed Cafe closed in Martindale (where they sensibly cheated with a trace of bacon). Little bit of heat in here. Great textures and flavors, ideal moisture level, nice companion to the fried chicken. I was delighted. __KEY LIME PIE WITH WHIP__ $6.50 Super rich, more rich than tart. This modest slice would satisfy most even if it was shared, like the shakes at Five Guys. It's that or save some for later. FYI you can order your pie--slice or whole--without whip if you prefer but it won't affect the price. Mine was packed separately for delivery and they still had taken the time to grate a little zest on top. I love little details like that at fast-ish food places. __DIP/DRESSINGS__ Forgot dressing at home for salads I'd packed and didn't want to eat mostly naked iceberg, so grabbed a 60¢ shot each of ranch and honey mustard. Both of them proved delicious. Ordered via Yelp button which routes through GrubHub. Delivery was correct and earlier than the reasonable ETA. Their website also has a delivery option which worked out cheaper, largely because it didn't include a tip. Might try it in the future when I have cash on hand for the driver. Excited about trying their coleslaw (first time saying THAT in my life) and collards. Looking forward to coming back and eventually trying the cocktails. 19SEP26
