    Turkish sub - very good!
    Steve S.

We had a layover in Austin and needed lunch so we stopped here. I had the Turkish delight sun with hummus on wheat bread. It came with a drink (I chose water) & side, (I chose an apple.) overall it tasted good and I liked it. Nice! It was all good except it was pricy - I get it, it's in an airport but still, it's above what it should be. Between gates 28 & 30

Fast fresh subs! I got the Big Paul it was stacked up! Love how they chop the lettuce up and I added sprouts to mine instead of lettuce olives Delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of seating but I took my to go.

    Club sub on wheat

Consistently good subs. Ordered the club sub all the way with sprouts. I paid extra for the spouts and had to go back and ask for them. I rate them overall a 4.5. The seating and interior is a little worn and due for an update.

NY Italian with signature sauce and sweet peppers was so good!
    Toni S.

Running errands and wanted something different so hubby found this Thundercloud Subs. He is not a big cold sub person but he was being a sweetheart and went there for me. Well now he is glad he did. He ordered the Club on wheat and added bacon. He loved it! He also ordered the side salad which is a decent size for a side salad. I ordered the NY Italian with sweet peppers and their signature sauce. It was so good! The sweet peppers and sauce set it off. It was a good amount of meat on the sandwich and not a lot of lettuce. We will be back!

This place makes subs kind of like subway but more local, I've been here many times and gotten at least 2 different things, veggie sub or the one with marinara and a morning star chickn patty. It's aight. See photo attached.

    Total screw-up!

Below average sandwich compared with other sandwich shops. Pickles cost .30 for 4 small slices.

Their mask policy is annoying. The staff is kind and they make a good sandwich, but the managers need to take their politics back to Austin.

I could easily replicate the sandwich to save me some money (and a 25 min drive on a good day), but it's the nostalgia and tastiness that keeps me coming back. What it is: The Grilled Chicken Club is a simple, yet refreshing layered sandwich made with slices of wheat bread spread with dijon honey mustard and mayo, then stacked with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and sliced grilled chicken. I can literally recite the exact ingredients from memory. The cookies are delicious, the sweet tea is spot on, and the soups are always solid. A cashier recently recommended me the lasagna soup from my regular chicken tortilla soup, and now I can't stop making my own version at home. If this McAlister's ever closes, I will be devastated!!! Unfortunately, this location does not serve mashed potatoes as a side, which is a bummer!!

I am neither greeted by the cashier on her phone, nor given any sign that orders are kept elsewhere. After almost 10 minutes, I see someone else go to the counter and ask where their order is. When i walk ip to do the same, we are told that they have a problem with theft so they keep everything behind the counter now. A practical solution a suppose. But a sign slob the aforementioned area, or maybe greeting the waiting customer, would be good additions.

I tried the prosciutto and it was decadent. If I were to recreate it at home I'd probably go for a little less quantity of the fig spread or a little less sweetness in it, but it was undeniably delicious. Came with a mountain of potato chips and their usual tasty little pickles. Can't remember what ma tried, probably the chicken salad pesto, but she did finish her generous half sandwich--that's a compliment these days, even when she likes something she won't always manage to eat that much at once. The drinks fridge was very sparse, they didn't have a cold Diet Coke for ma but the cashier did offer and supply a glass of ice for her. I recommend you try one of their agua frescas; they're very tasty and often included with a sandwich plate. Today I enjoyed their pineapple ginger. Ma insisted on getting the tab but I recall the prosciutto was listed at $15 and having seen the amount of charcuterie on my half order, that's certainly fair. The baked goods cabinet had lots of goodies today and right now I wish I'd grabbed their peach danish. There were several scones as well as cowboy cookies, lemon cookies, some kind of muffin as well as others I've forgotten. A few beautiful fat slices of banana bread were wrapped and waiting at the register. The prices here tend to be higher but I've found their ingredients quality *consistently* and appreciably higher than other sandwich shops. Other than no cold sodas, the only other small thing was having to ask for napkins when our plates arrived. Otherwise flawless and friendly service and we were happy to see a little lunch rush come and go as we enjoyed our meal. We'll definitely be back. 23JUN25
