    Didn't cut properly
    Renee M.

Going out for a vacay so I decided to get a shellac manicure. After paying $45, what I got was uneven cut of nails, nails that were not filled properly and skin breaking out. I got there early at 11.30 am and no one was there. They asked me if I had an appointment to which I said no. But still they got me in. As the last started the manicure, two other ladies got in and she asked them the same question. These ladies said they called a few mins back for two pedicures. And then it went downhill. The second aestheticisan started doing the pedicure but was constantly looking at the primary aestheticisan to see the progress of my manicure. She would constantly interrupt her and ask her to hurry up on me so she could take care of the other two ladies. Rushing my manicure resulted in this disappointing experience. The primary aestheticisan was massaging my hands after the gel was applied. But the second last came and asked her to stop and go and do the pedicures She just hurried it up and didn't care about the experience. While paying she kept insisting that I pay cash. I asked her if she takes card or venmo (a venmo QR code is displayed on the walls). She said venmo is ok but again insisted on cash and when I was looking in my purse, she was looking inside. Sorry, but I ain't coming here again.

Great selection of colors. This was my favorite pallette though!

I will 100% go here whenever in town!! The people are beyond wonderful, sweet, accommodating and very good at what they do. On top of thatthey are vocal about their appreciation for customers and always wanted to make sure everything is just the way you want it! Great location with free street parking close by. Smiling faces who genuinely enjoy what they do and getting to know their customers!!

    New nails!!

Got my acrylics filled about a week ago and they still look gorgeous!! So happy with them and can't wait for my next fill :)

I paid 40 dollars for possibly one of the worst pedicures I've ever had. They barely scrubbed my feet and the polish is even more of a disaster. I would have been better off doing my own pedicure at home. Do not go here-- not worth the cost, at least for a pedicure.

    Spring French tip!

Love the friendly owner and the view! Great option near Alki and there's boba next door and tacos across the street.

Regular pedicure after having done gel pedis for awhile. Love the color but wish it stayed longer! Guess I'm going in again.

I love coming to this place because it's such an intimate little shop. I'm not someone who indulges in self care very much, but as a new intention to myself, I am giving myself permission to get my pedi done every month. Thuy, the owner is so sweet and welcoming all the time. Their happy hour prices are amazing deals, but make sure to ask if they have happy hour. During busy season and holidays, they don't offer it (and they don't have it Fridays anymore either). Thuy is so incredibly meticulous and detail-oriented. I don't think i've ever had someone so detailed with my nails before. I've also had Anna do my manicure when Thuy was sick. She is just as detail oriented and i LOVE her strong massages. She was so patient even when I requested for something and it ended up messing up the nail and she had to start all over. Thanks Anna! She also let me hang out in the shop for an hour while my nails dried because I had to hop on a conference call. Not once did she rush me out :) I appreciate it so much! The window says walk ins welcome, but I recommend calling to make a reservation. It's a small shop and during winter, usually only one of them is in the shop at a time. Parking can be a bit gnarly during lunch, so I park before I reach Marination (by the dentist). It's about 1.5 blocks away.

I loved coming here for my first set of acrylics! The owner was so sweet, and we had a great conversation about the upcoming holiday season & our families. She gave me some great tips about nail health, and I was left with beautiful nails. I'm so satisfied with my experience, and definitely will be returning!

Nice gals, just don't have the latest. The chairs are old and don't even massage.

“Lastly, the salon is very clean, and Thuy appears to adhere to best practices when it comes to the all important hygiene in a nail salon.”

She barely filed the gel to allow the acetone to get in, then had me wait for a bit with the little plastic finger covers on. I was then told to pick my color, with the funky plastic things on, and if I needed to open the bottles (as some of them you couldn't actually tell what the color was from the outside of the bottle) to see the color I could, which made it hard to do. She told me that I would have to pay $10 extra to remove the current gel since they weren't the ones to do it originally. Not really sure why that makes a difference since gel is gel and if they had done the application it would have been the same process. I was told the next time I came in it would only be $30, since she knew they were the ones to apply it. After a little while more of sitting, two other customers came in and took up her attention. Then one of the other techs started to try to scrape the gel off, but it wasn't really budging, so back to soaking in acetone with the plastic covers. She then got pulled into working with the other customers, and I was told to move stations to a third tech. She did a mediocre job, the sidewalls and cuticles have gel on them and are sloppy even after she cleaned the color up with acetone, and you can see where the gel thickness and color is a little uneven in spots. I didn't notice this at first as I didn't have my glasses on. When I got home I also noticed a couple spots that looked a little scuffed and matte where the topcoat wasn't applied correctly or didn't cure properly. Overall, while the prices are better than most of the other salons in the area, my experience wasn't great and I will not be returning.

I've been coming here since 2022, so at this point I have a complicated but mostly affectionate…read morerelationship with this place. What has kept me coming back all these years is the nail techs. I've accumulated my favorites, and a lot of them feel less like people providing a service and more like familiar neighborhood aunties/friends I haven't seen in a while. They will ooh and aah over whatever I happen to show up wearing, whether I'm actually dressed up or have rolled in looking hobo chic in sweats. New Hair color, fading hair color, eyeliner, eyeshadow, jewelry that is expensive or absolutely not expensive... somebody will notice it and hype me up. They also have no problem side-eyeing me when I disappear for weeks and eventually return with nails or toes that are WELL beyond their maintenance date. I get scolded for neglecting them, give my excuses about traveling, being busy or simply being too lazy/burnt out to care, and receive the appropriate sympathetic nods mixed with disappointment. Then we carry on. That familiarity is honestly one of my favorite things about coming here. Quality can depend quite a bit on which tech you get, though, especially for Gel-X and nail art. After this many years I know whose work suits me and who I prefer to book with. I've had some beautiful sets here that (I mocked up the design & bring a visual with me) strangers have literally stopped me to compliment, but I've also had sets with premature lifting and recently had a Gel-X extension pop completely off in under five days. So for anything more involved, I recommend finding a tech whose work you like and booking with them specifically. The owner and I are decidedly not each other's cup of tea, and after four years I generally prefer coming at times when she isn't there. I'll leave it at that. My affection for this place has always been much more about the techs(staff) themselves. So no, it isn't a salon I'd describe as flawless or perfectly consistent. But there are women here I genuinely adore seeing, they've done some wonderfully ridiculous colorful nails for me over the years, and there's something lovely about walking into your neighborhood nail salon after disappearing for a while and immediately being greeted with, essentially, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I missed you!! And look at your nails!"
