Ate at the restaurant and the food was good. Ordered takeout as well about halfway through so it would be ready when we left; there were no other customers and two waitresses talking behind the counter. At the end of the meal we get the check and the takeout is not on there. The waitress apologizes and says she didn't put the order in even though I told her while she was standing behind the counter. So they made it there and we had to wait longer just like we were trying to avoid. The takeout portion was certainly smaller than what we had in the restaurant and there were more veggies than noodles in the udon pad Thai. The Khao Soi I thought was great but there's nothing that would make me want to come back. I hear tail Tuk is under same ownership so will probably skip that one too. read more

My friend really dug into the fried rice and she gobbled it up. The pad Thai was so smooth it basically was like peanut butter. The wait wasn't long and the sparkling drinks were not only pretty but pretty tasty. The concentrated syrup at the bottom was a rush. The rose contrasted the clean environment. It was cool we had two different plates for more options and two different waitresses for more options. (They respect their workers time). My co-workers and I were craving some Thai food so we ordered for pick up at Andy's Thai Kitchen for some Pad See Ew and calamari! I ordered a Pad See Ew with Tofu and I really loved how well balanced the flavors were! Some Thai restaurants tend to make the pad see ew too sweet and watery but they made it perfectly at Andy's! They also added shredded carrots and and colorful vegetables to make it look so delicious and beautiful. The crispy calamari was pretty good! I asked for lemon on the side because it didn't come with it but they only had lime so make sure to ask for one if you like to put lime on your calamari! I only walked in to pick up but the interior was very spacious and clean! I can tell how properly they maintain their restaurant by how bright and welcoming it feels. I noticed that there were lots of seating for so it's perfect for people who are thinking about coming in groups. The service was great! I only went in to pick up but they attended to me very quickly and was very friendly and accommodating! Overall, really like this place and will be coming back (hopefully for dine in next time) Tip: if you're doing a pick up order make sure to ask for utensils if you need it! Popped in one evening after work. The restaurant usually looked empty around 5:30, but I was looking in one part of the restaurant. The end I was not seeing is where all of the diners sit while leaving another section of the restaurant empty. I ordered larb kai. The ground chicken was spicy like I love it, although wetter than the way I had it in Thailand. I like the sauce, but it wilted the lettuce that was on the bottom. The khao soi goong was also a hit. I love this curry soup with shrimp, noodles, pickled mustard greens, and shallots. Both larb khai and khao soi goong were substantial in terms of portions. This is a cash only restaurant. There is an ATM inside the restaurant. Get cash in advance, though, because there is a charge for using the ATM on the premises if you bank elsewhere. There seems to be a tendency to seat diners close, so be warned if you expect to be spaced out. Other than that, it's good eating. read more

CASH ONLY. My friend told me about his place so I figured to give this place a try. AMBIANCE: Parking: It's in the suburbs so either try street parking or metered parking. Seating: Inside seating is good for solo, pairs, and small/large groups. It can probably Feels: It's right off of Diversey subway exit. The area itself can get loud here and there with the trains passing but aside from that, it's a calm suburban area. The place itself is pretty calming with soft jazz/elevator music along and minimal clean decor of homages to Thai culture, a tv showing how their foods look like, and a few recognitions on the local newspaper. Great place or a food adventure, hanging out with friends, or for family. FOOD Basil Crispy Pork Belly(Recommend) So many choices and unique ones too! Going solo I ordered the Basil Crispy Pork Belly subbing the rice with rice noodles (New Year Superstition). It was delicious! The pork was relatively crispy despite being well-marinated with good seasoning and sauce. The basil leaf brought a refreshing flavor, the garlic gave it a nice kick, and the mushrooms complimented the umami flavor to things and the chili provided a subtle yet nice heat to the dish. The rice noodles were able to extend my meal as they were marinated well in the sauce. Deeelicious! Melon Sparkling Soda (Recommend) This was something different! A unique transparent drink that was sweet and reminded me of bananas moreover. It was good at it was sparkly and sweet. CUSTOMER SERVICE: May was my server and she was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Awesome! California has a lot of Thai places but this place is certainly unique. They have a wide range of selections, the prices were good, and the experience was pleasant. I really wish I did order more but this comes to show how much of a foodie town Chicago really is. Ok this place has totally gone down hill and it's a bummer as it was our go to Thai restaurant for many years. Our past 2 meals there have been awful. Flavorless and just not good. But it gets worse. Tonight we dined in and won't return; the menu's were dirty- with food and grease stains all over them. They served my soup in a chipped bowl. Our pad see ew noodles were congealed and had zero flavor. The chicken in the noodle dish was chewy and not edible. Oh boy I need a new go to as I won't be returning. ATK's food is good. I've had it in the past, and I have been very happy with it. Today, I happened to be in the area, and I decided to go in to order take-out. I was greeted with a sign on the door telling me that they only accept cash, but if i used their QR code to place an online order, I could use a credit card. I did not see a cash station in the area, but it seemed easy enough to use their ordering app. What followed was twenty minutes of total frustration. First of all, their app allows annoying pop-ups that try to direct you to an erroneous website that asks for your credit card number (I resisted that trick). When I was finally able to successfully set up an account, whenever I tried to finalize my order, it would kick me out for one reason or another. The app would send me back to my order or it would tell me that I had input an invalid credit card number. I tried two credit cards...and the app said that they were both invalid. And in both cases, I absolutely put in the correct information, and tried multiple times for each card. I had to go through all of this so that they could add $0.94 for using my credit card. I have no problem paying extra to use a credit card...my problem was using their terrible phone app. After 20-plus minutes of getting nowhere with my order, I gave up. I went into the restaurant to let them know that their phone app was not working, and the woman at the counter just murmured "I'm sorry." They didn't seem to care beyond that. It was 3:00pm, and the restaurant was empty, so you think that they would be interested in attracting customers, not infuriating them. I know that it's tough times for restaurants right now, and I understand when extra charges are necessary, but why not let me use a credit card in the restaurant and just charge me the extra percentage? Instead, they completely frustrated me with a flawed ordering phone app. There are too many restaurants that want my business, and have online ordering apps that work. I doubt that I will waste my time visiting ATK ever again. read more

This is a great spot if you're looking for delicious Thai food! The food is flavorful and prices are fair. It's cash only, so come prepared! We got the basil crispy pork belly, wild boar ped pad curry, and pad Thai shrimp omelet. Everything was delicious and portion sizes where pretty big! We had enough leftovers for another dinner for the two of us. My favorite dish was probably the pad Thai shrimp omelet (although all of the dishes we got were very tasty). Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only diners in the restaurant but I noticed several to go orders being picked up while we were there. Two of us had the Pad Thai with chicken. The portion was huge and the presentation was beautiful. Spice level was as requested. The rice noodles were a thin vermicelli like noodle instead of the flatter noodle. I am a little disappointed with ATK. It's been on my list for sometime now, but they failed on my favorite dish miserably. It's a CASH only place, and he'll let you and everyone else know that several times. I guess that's always a good thing that he's communicating that with you, that way you can't say that no one ever told you anything. The issues are of course the food. It's very overpriced and he doesn't offer lunch specials. I definitely don't mind paying for delicious food. I had asked for my "pad Khe Mao" to be extra spicy. I did order it with beef and the beef was not tender. It was chewy and had no flavor. Also the entire dish was soaked in oil and the entire dish lacked flavor. Worst of all there was no heat. When I went to pick up my order, he had asked if I wanted it "spicy spicy" or "very extra spicy?" So I told him spicy, and he handed me a little cup of hot sauce. Now I've had this sauce plenty of times, and it does not add extra heat at all. It's too acidic and makes the dish worse. In order for you to make this dish spicy, you have to add the powder. That's the stuff what will make your nose runny, and that's what I was hoping for. But unfortunately didn't get. Perhaps he has some other good tasting dishes, but there's so many other Thai places that make good food, and I don't see myself coming he anytime soon. read more

Andy's has potential - their menu has some unique options that other places don't. Their pad ped catfish curry was not what I would call crispy, but it was tasty, had so much catfish I couldn't finish it, and had plenty of delicious little edible Thai peppercorns to make the flavor more interesting! I would have liked to see more spices in the curry - it was pretty coconut-milk forward - and (I can't believe I'm saying this, I never finish my rice anywhere) more rice. There is a lot of curry and not enough rice to soak it up. Finally, it's listed as spicy and I guess by Midwestern standards it is... but not spicy like I'd expect from a Thai place. read more

Came in right when it opened! Was greeted and the waitress was friendly! The Thai iced tea is nothing special. It's been a while since I had one so I got it. Something about it felt off, but I couldn't say what it was 5.2/10 The salad was the most surprising part for me! Usually don't get it, but my friend highly recommended it so we got it. The chicken was moist and I loved the sauce it came with. Big fan of fish sauce! 8.7/10 The mussel green curry also hit the spot! It had a hint of spice which I enjoyed. Don't remember thinking too much of the mussel, but for $1 more than the regular green curry I don't see why not! Curry itself tasted wonderful. 8.4/10 I'm a big fan of wide noodles so we got the pad see-ew. It was packed with flavor! Love this spot for easy online ordering with fast hot delivery. Great menu and options. Pad Thai is great and variety makes it even better. I think Andy's has the best Thai food in Chicago. It's a traditional Thai menu, with a few superlative chef's specials like wild boar red curry and spicy udon special pad Thai. For appetizers, we usually go for the grilled meatballs (pork, fish, shrimp and beef), the grilled squid in spicy Thai chili sauce, tod mun (fish cakes),or the ever-reliable chicken satay. For entrees, the curries are all excellent, as are basil fried rice, basil ground chicken, pad pred catfish, pad Thai, or any of the other noodle dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a sleek, spartan manner, but it's not by any means a hole-in-the-wall Thai place. Service is always pleasant and responsive. Highly recommended. read more

Overall we enjoyed our food. The price for the portion is very fair. I ordered the pad see ew and I was impressed with how much chicken and veggies came in it! Normally they skimp you at places like this. But it was full! The flavor was good. I asked for medium spice which was VERY spicy. Almost to the point of being unpleasant. So I would def go down a level minimum if you're not sure. The noodles were super big but tasty so I didn't mind! The only other downfall was that our order was supposed to be ready at 1:22pm and I was sitting there waiting still at 1:35. Finally got my food at 1:37 but at least it was hot. read more

Not sure why so many haters honestly... From Bangkok to LA, I've had some pretty decent Thai food in my life and I would recommend this place to anyone. Being completely obsessed w Thai food, this is the best reasonably priced Thai I've been able to find in 4 years of living here and searching. Try out the red curry w boar meat, or the coconut curry w duck - both very unique and delicious. Also enjoyed the pad Thai omelet and the pork belly. Pad kee mao was just average. Andy's food actually tastes like something you might eat in Thailand, unlike many other places in town. Big ups, Andy!! The Kao soy is solid in my opinion, but the wild boar curry I didn't enjoy. The wild boar curry has each board piece with a fat layer attached. It's unpleasant. And there are even fat pieces that have no meat and are just in the curry. Pretty gross experience. They should really get rid of the fat before serving that dish. The curry flavor itself is fine, nice and spicy, but the boar fat is gross. Kao soy is flavorful and worth trying. Friendly staff. Good place to try! read more

I was visiting some friends in the city and we decided to order delivery. I usually don't post reviews so this not typical of me. Anyway, this place was suggested by a friend so we tried it. I am so happy we did! Wow, I was totally shocked how beautiful they made the food look for just delivery! Nice colorful garnish and great Thai flavors. I ordered boat noodle which was a type of beef soup---super super delish with a tad of spice! Other friends ordered pineapple fried rice, duck curry and pad Thai. We were so pleasantly surprised how well the flavors came together. Sadly I don't live in Chicago so I can't try this place again anytime soon but I will certainly recommend it.
