Was in the area around lunch time for an eye exam and this place was a couple doors down so decided to grab some lunch. Upon entering I noticed they have the entire restaurant blocked off with a desk and chairs and only have carry out which was a little strange to me because I thought mostly all restaurants with indoor seating was fully back open for Inside dining, but I guess not here, so Ok anywho I see someone in the back but was not initially greeted so I grabbed a menu on the makeshift desk and looked it over. Seen they had lunch options so decided to order the Pad Woo Sen with an egg roll. I wasn't impressed. The Pad Woo Sen was extremely sticky/gummy. I mean to the point when eating a fork full I picked up half the order. I had to use a knife to separate the noodles which I do not normally have to do at other Thai restaurants, so not not sure if they cooked them too long or what but I've definitely had better. The egg roll was Ok, portion was Ok and but not what I was expecting as far as food quality. I would pass on this place for Thai food and just stick with who I know offer quality Thai. read more

I ordered orange chicken and had mixed feelings on the way they cooked it. Some pieces are ROUGH and chewy and the exterior is soft and mushy. It makes for an odd combination. The pad Thai was average and my other coworker said her food was meh. I think it depends on what you order because the seasoning, and flavor is pretty good. I've had the sesame chicken a few times and always good, very meaty chicken pieces, but I always feel like the sauce is missing something flavor wise. I ordered a mango smoothie, broccoli and beef, crab fried rice, and received a free order of crab rangoon. The beef and broccoli had an incredibly overwhelming taste of ginger. The crab fried rice had a smoky flavor and tasted like it was made on a dirty grill....the crab rangoon and mango smoothie were fine, but nothing to brag about. Short headline: this place has absolutely delicious and authentic Thai food! I lived and worked in Bangkok for 2 years and really appreciate when Thai restaurants in the United States do it correctly, and Thai Thank You really does it super well. When we order Thai, we usually order for dinner and for lunch/dinner the next day. So we ordered 2 orders of Bahmee Wonton, 2 orders of Som Tam Thai, Larb Kai, and 2 sticky rice (which wasn't on the menu but they were kind enough to add on from the staff's personal stash), and because our order was over $30, we had a choice of an extra meal so we chose the Pad Thai Kai (chicken). All of it was superb and the prices were better than other Thai restaurants in Chicago. However, when we received our delivery (earlier than estimated as well), we opened the bag to find that one of our Som Tam orders wasn't in the bag. I called Kat to let her know, and she discovered the mistake. She sent the Som Tam over and she added a personal note of apology, and a free can of Coke as well! Exactly the type of friendly, kind service you would expect from Thai people, who are some of the kindest people on earth. They don't call it the Land of Smiles for nothing! I was excited to try this place especially when I saw they have papaya salad. I also ordered their Goey See Me and unfortunately both order lacked the extra spicy request I asked. The Papaya salad tasted like the veggies were unwashed and very old. Super disappointed. The Goey See Me was okay I enjoyed the amount I was given but it was too sweet for my liking which I figured it would taste like that but that is why I asked for spice but there was none. Moreover the salt wasn't dispersed evenly and you could see parts of the noodles missing soy sauce and parts with way too much. The shrimp and veggies in it were tasty though. I also tried a couple bites of the veggie fried rice which I liked better. As others have noted, the portions here are huge. It seems like they really care about their customers. The space was comfortable, clean, and nice. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Among the 3 of us we had crab rangoon, chicken potstickers, Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Basil chicken, and our total pre tip was $30. I didn't try the Panang curry, but it looked good. Everything else I can tesitfy did taste good. The basil chiken was a bit spicy, but I loved it. It had a good amount of vegetables, chicken, sauce, sweet and spicy flavor. Their name is a play on words(WHY thank you). They have only been open for three weeks and their entrees are perfected and highly consistent, appetizers are to-die for, and service on the weekends is very knowledgeable and friendly(always giving out free stuff to returning customers). The place is always freezing cold and the water glasses are small...which is annoying because the food is salty and spicy. I ordered this through Grubhub last night as I was ravenous at 8 pm and was craving Thai comfort food. I ordered quite a few things, thinking I would save some and eat them at work today. I ordered tempura (shrimp and vegetables), wonton soup, tom kha, sticky rice in banana leaves, and it came with crab rangoon complimentary with the app (so that was a bonus!) I got the food and was so excited to dig in. I attacked the crab rangoon first, which were fine, but I the skin of it was so tough and crunchy it was difficult to enjoy. I then had some tempura which was also great, but something about it made my stomach start to ache so I had to stop. Finally, I had some of the wonton soup. I am a wonton soup junkie and I had to admit I was super disappointed in the one item I was most excited to get. The wontons inside made me feel nauseated and the broth itself was very plain with nothing but one giant leaf floating inside. I ended up putting my food up, a little bit sad that I had placed this particular order here. Perhaps there are other items on the menu that are better to try, but I am not sure if I will be back after that experience :( Which is sad, as I live nearby and love Thai food.
