Great place near where I live. I've slept on going to this place and it's busy every morning on the walk to the train. Finally went in on a weekend to try breakfast and wasn't disappointed. I got the french toast and my friend had the steak and eggs. It was a weekday morning so they were quite busy. Coffee was tasty as well. Went back the next day to try some of their dinner food and got the beef stew, beans, chicken and mashed potatoes. Again, not disappointed at all. Went twice more for breakfast...all within the same week! The team recognized us upon waling in and it was a nice feeling. Last two times I've had the eggs benedict while my friend tried the steak & eggs as well as the veggie omlette. I'll keep this as an option for anytime I'm looking for breakfast or lunch. read more

First time order home devilery terrible not fully cook cold and bread stale. Devilery very late only lived three blocks away they said he was on his way came late. First impression meant allot people on the phone can't speak English that why the order messed up. Spent 24.00 for nothing. Food terrible I won't recommend anyone and I won't go back. read more

After they renovated a few months ago, this place became my go-to spot for my work lunch. I almost always get the pernil lunch special with white rice, beans, and a few sweet plantains. At its best, the pork melts in your mouth, the beans are delicious and the plantains are dark, sweet, and soft. The service is great. I have also had their breakfast. Their sausage is really good, I sometimes order it for lunch. Unfortunately, this place has a consistency problem. I don't know if they have two differently skilled chefs but something is going on. Don't get me wrong, the food is never so bad that it is inedible (except pancakes, those are not good). However, half the time, the pork is good but not great, with a significant portion being dry. Half the time, the sweet plantains are yellow and undercooked which makes them taste more like a starch than sweet plantains. Also, I gave it a bit more credit because it is one of the few places where you can still have a great dine-in experience. read more

Spanish spot with all the goods. I called ahead so I wouldn't have to wait. It was around breakfast time so I ordered the Mangu with the fried cheese and onions. Walked right in and they were closing up my bag for pick up. I was right on time. The people were nice and welcoming. I walked in and out and was on my way. This restaurant doesn't seem like it would be great from first glance. The interior isn't super clean or fancy. However, the food is really good! I ordered the mangu. It was my first time trying this traditional Dominican dish, and I was blown away by how good it was! I was craving it again for several weeks afterwards. The portion sizes are also really generous. I could barely finish everything. It's definitely worth a try if you happen to be in the area and want a very reasonably priced meal. To deserve a full 5 stars, they would have to keep the restaurant a bit cleaner. There was a hair stuck on the unclean sauce bottles at our table and the whole restaurant in general could've been cleaner. Also, I ordered a lemonade listed under natural juice, and it was bright yellow and tasted like a Koolaid mix lemonade. Nothing natural about that. read more

Friendly spot in East Harlem that is welcoming and has solid menu options. They have a good mix of breakfast options and will serve it with a piping hot Bustelo coffee. I've ordered from here before as well as gotten take out. There's always something that's not quite right! After the food I ordered today, NEVER EVER AGAIN!! A warm little corner spot that seems like the neighborhood kitchen. A bland interior is decorated by old skool Dominicans and other patrons who shout five feet to the open kitchen "da me ketchup!" and go up to each other's tables "hey what's up man!". Veggie Omelette on the menu for $4.75. con papas fritas, toast y te. I wasn't sure if I needed to bust out my espanol but all speak english. It's just hella loud in there. One guy came in to chat with the table next to mine. He asked to borrow the seat opposite me- sure- but then proceeded to gesture animatedly and dance there, in between tables, so I kept having to tell him to quit jostling my table because my tea was sloshing over. He wasn't rude, and I wasn't particularly annoyed, as I got the sense musical chairs is a common occurrence there. Certainly no staff came by to say hey you're blocking the aisle or whatever. anything goes. The veggie omelette was no frills. Scrambled egg with a sprinkling of diced peppers served flat and folded. The fries were served as a layer over the omelette. Presentation isn't considered but that was totally fine by me. Service was ok even though I had to ask for water twice (I blame the loud din), friendly enough and the whole experience was well worth $4.75. read more

What I like the most about this restaurant is that it opens at 5am and they deliver really really fast. I always prefer delivery instead of dine in. To be honest I mostly order daily breakfast. They're good with the seasoning taking everyone into consideration and what I mean by that Is the "low sodium." Manuel is really good at taking orders and making sure to get things right and Amorcito is the faster delivery guy I've seen. Really nice people. read more

This little spot in Harlem is a must. I was in Harlem for the day for a job training and it was recommended to me. When I walked in around 12pm for lunch was it amazingly packed with people (lots of construction in the area so the men where on their lunch break). The line to order was long, but it was worth it. I ordered the yellow rice, baked chicken and red beans with avocado. It was delicious, moist and plentiful. I live right around the block from Andy's. I moved to East Harlem and noticed this small corner store/restaurant. Everyone I ran into raved and ranted about this place. I had no idea what to expect of the different types of food served here. I just hadn't had the time or chance to make it in the spot with moving and what not. I finally made the jump after kicking myself for not going sooner, and knew that I made the mistake in taking my time to go! The food is well made and scrumptions. I work around the corner of this place and I was recommended to eat here by a co-worker. When I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted by the friendly staff. There is a large selection of sandwiches, breakfast items, burgers, and sides on their menu. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with just lettuce and tomatoes, which cost 6 dollars. For a six dollar sandwich in Harlem, I expected a bit more... like a side of fries or a bag of chips. The whole experience was mediocre. Would I go back? Only if I had no other choice. One last thing. If you order a coffee, make sure you tell them what you want, otherwise they will assume that you want sugar and milk. The lady at the counter rolled her eyes at me when I told her that I don't want sugar in my coffee. She said, "you should have told me, but it is okay," with a fake smile. read more

I went here for the first time this morning, for a late breakfast with the boyfriend. He had mentioned passing by several times when headed to the Harlem-125th St. station to catch a train home. It was really quite good! I ordered the mofongo con queso blanco ($5), which I've never had before in my life. I have nothing to compare it to, but I really liked the dish. The cheese tasted bacon-ey from the grill, melted but still quite firm, with a chewy, crispy brown skin. Quite divine. The whole dish was covered with sauteed red onions, the flavor perfectly complimented the starchy green plantains. I had a tasted of my boyfriend's grits too, they were good! Very buttery. What can I say this food is my almost every day spot. The food is delicious and prepared fast, two of the most important things to me. I usually have chicken on a wrap. Because this is Spanish food I grew up on I know how it easily sticks to my thighs, lucky for me they have wraps so I still have the good bad stuff i just have it on a wrap so i feel better calorically. I stopped here on my way through harlem for a trap yoga class. I was looking for a traditional hispanic breakfast and it was everything I needed. I ordered mangu with friend eggs salami and queso frito. My eggs were made just like a like them over easy and my cheese was fried to perfection. I had to add a little salt to my mangu for additional flavor but nonetheless it was the closest thing to my mother's hispanic breakfast! read more

This place is unreal. You get to sit here and order anything on the menu, it's all delicious, and your final bill is less than one drink order at any restaurant downtown. I recommend getting the smashed green plantains, pancakes, and the salami. The staff is hilarious, and if you know enough spanish to say thank you and ask for the bill, they love you. Most horrible customer service over the phone. I tried to submit an order over the phone and whoever answered the phone was having conversations while I'm trying to submit my order. Then hangs up the phone on me before I could finish my order and sends to my door step the one item I was able to say before the phone was hung up on me. So I explained to the delivery guy what happened he understood and was very nice about it. If they stop rushing and having side convos and take ONE order at a time it'll be so much better. read more

Me and my family have been going here for years. I use to come faithfully every morning before college. Clara is my favorite waitress. She's so attentive and knows exactly what I want by heart. I suggest this place for breakfast , brunch or lunch because they close for dinner. However they do deliver and take orders for pickup. read more
